FWIW. A couple of years ago we had a small Dutch bike manufacturer that produces the Track diesel all road adventure bike. With a Smart engine. Sadly it was too expensieve to become a success. They have stopped production, but they Will start up when they find investors, afaik. http://www.dieselmotorfiets.nl -

You could try Hagon shocks: lots of different sizes and they put on springs according to your total ride weight. Almost all the classic racers use them.
