I use same method as Footgoose , but i remove front subframe away to get more space -and front fender , not to scratch. Check timingcover gasget, if it`s poor old-fashioned paper gasget -those break sooner or later - now it ´s wise to replace new metal type. -KG-

Yes , a strong recommendation -very good shop. -KG- -
You don't need 100+hp when travel that kind of bike -only racetrack , not on road. -KG-

...previous owner used cold chisels to change the tires... I just use "airplane model paint" to fix those marks. -KG-

Yes! I "tested" tank volume last summer; empty tank takes 19.5l -totally empty (pump inside) measured volume 21.7l = 2.2l in trap -quite a lot -KG-

Inability to disengage clutch after twin-disc conversion

You mean the raised portion points to the front of the bike? if so that is what I did. Andy Your friction plate(s) in photo post #8 is backwards. Turn raised side pointing to gearbox like my photo in post #20 -KG- -
Season 2016 i have a same kind serious running problems , less than 2000km that summer. Two bikeshop try to fix it -no result. Next winter i change all relays to Omron (have to order them US) and now it`s running ok. I use carbtune and i don't try to get exact same balance but instead best possible and when meter columns react same kind -rise and fall. Bypass left 1/4 & right 1/2 turn open. -KG-

Yes -airbox it´s clean. In that extra bottle theres always spoonful or two oil. I have used Liquimoly 10/60 and last two years Motul 5100 15/50 , both acting same way. Bike is very used ; about 165tkm -KG-
-
..for that reason I make another oil trap: first tube goes 1/3 inside the can ,second goes upper part of the can to airbox. That works on my bike and no need to empty -oil seems to vapor when settled here. -KG-

There is a some movement (stress) between engine and front support. When you install front support back it maybe need to lift engine a bit (1-2mm) -KG-

A lot of shifting issues get solved by adjusting the linkage, without getting into the transmission. Make sure everything is snug and has enough free travel .. gap between lever and `pork chop`when downshift ? -KG-
