Will be going MIA again...the humans will be requiring my attention.
-
Next trick chk V @ relay sockets...and change out relays. They could be tired. What's the latest good source?
-
Am I suffering from the miss conception the KS wires are GROUND when in fact their +..hot ? (Looked @ schem again.) Thanks that's very clear. I just need to get back up there before new job starts. PS...I went MIA because I didn't set up "notifications" I was wondering where everyone went 🤪

Both twisted together. Singular I get 5v!
-
No..the crazy circumstance is I had sold the Sport due to OLD AGE..🥴 and trying to help the buyer out and have only had an an hr and a half to poke at it. That's when I played musical relays, repsliced the KS wires and got confused at 7.5v there. Looking @ your wiring schem( THANK YOU!) I don't see why it wouldn't be 12v. ???
-
Further info.... Did not REPLACE relays...played musical chairs. Runs 100% until complete shut off. I have not been able to reproduce "no fuel pump whirrr" at Key On (long story..) I suspect shortest route at this point is all new relays. I know all about their poor history though the ones in it are the GOOD CHINESE ones. How unintuitive can you get??🤣 Still wondering WHY 7.5v at spliced wires. Need to look at wiring diagram I guess. From all my years on Guzzis I know this is something stupid. You do too I'm sure. Just want to give you all a shout out. Thanks so much. I even broke down and sent Japp a couple looong over due bucks. 🤪 Thanks all.

Should Vmeter be reading 12v at the spliced KS wires? Im getting 7.5v.V11 is shutting off after 20mi AGAIN after road side splice got me 1000mi.
-
Experienced total shutoff while running fine while touring the Addirondacks in Aug. After 2 or three times I bypassed the kick stand switch and everything was fine for the next 1000 mi. Now getting same exact symptoms. Runs 20 mi. Shuts completely off. Restarts after a few minute then dies aftter another 10-20 mi. Roadside splice and twist looks fine but did it again anyway. Checking voltage from battery to offending wires I'm getting 7.5v. My first instinct was just ground those out directly to the frame BUT maybe they get some unintuitive curveball voltage thru the ECU $$$ so I'm holding off. Seem those kick stand wires should be 12+ v. But my stupidity of late has been impressing me. Relays have been switched. Could the FP itself be poorly grounded? 2nd suspect is electric Fuel petcock. What's a good test method? TIA

I have not done ground up tunning. General house keeping, bar swap, shift spring, Givi Addaption (I gotta do an article...big beautiful Givis on a V 11 !) Flat tire. It's pulling like a big dog, starts at tickover and idles right about 10-11...BUT I'm with you... a perfect / correct tune would / could make it smoother. The swanky billet aluminum grips ain't helping. They ARE pretty tho. 🤣

Again with insightful thoughts... thanks again... I'm leaning towards "something up with motor mounts" Investigations begin in AM. Then off to the ammo store. 🤣
-
Good thinkin,'
-
Ding ding ding !!! First thing in the AM ..THANKS Phil......Duh!..In my defense I only took one 40mi ride with the clipons. Still..should thought motor mounts before "sinkers" 😃🤣 the club bars on risers I took off were full of BBs.
-
Ya..they have the weights....I'll pull them and fill the empty tubes up with sinkers.. maybe.

Seat of the pants testing.: With the "failing transmision" issue, the very prominent SNICK! into 3rg gear was getting my attention giving me concern even after the confirmation of the service/04 tranny. Somewhere between the 12k mi at purchase and the recent present ....about the last 400mi /15,,000 mi the snick is gone. About 400mi after switching to Red Line too. I also switched to OEM Clipons. The VIBRATION is ridiculous. My LM had no such issue though I often read complaints. I presently have foam grip covers. Hate them. Fine at speed but fancy maneuvering on campground grassy conditions. I feel I don't "have a hold" of the fat pig. (Let's face it..these things are no ballerina under 20mph. Add wet grass and tree roots...ugh! ) so any reduction in vibration due to "break in- smooth out " will be noted and reported. I got a 800mi weekend coming up so we'll see. ( *Sportys Iron Duke Saloon* Minerva NY.. A spatering of Guzzis, Beemers and good folks camping out if anyone is in range an interested. Spectacular lonely, well surfaced, un-patrolled 😈 roads)

MPG...not "might:
-
It's Brand New....they're totally broken in at about 20kmi !! 😅😃 Shifting, might, seat. WIN !!
-
YES !!! Another WIN. !!! Yea...the "Flexable Hose " curve ball. Congratulations. ! How many miles on it??
-
Yup ...that's what MG USA told me too. Non denial denial. Gotta go Piaggio. Have you investigated " less than factory quality" Sealant around joining surfaces?
-
YUP. Re: windtunnel..

👍 Very glad to be of any help..
-
Yes it is...I had that option at purchase time. I campaigned an 02 LM and found that fairing no on beautiful but highly effective. ...including mirrors and rain riding. ..hand protection....but... I'm 5'8" ymmv.

Ack...I'm a little late chiming in... New phone..lost P words but YES..I went thru the "was my tranny replaced" fiasco. My 1st ray of hope was the Grey sealer smeared around bell housing etc. I was clinging to that when after a couple e-mails and phone calls Steve Spinoza of Piaggio confirmed the tranny change in 2004....pheww..after a couple nay sayers from dealers/MG USA insisted they would not have 24yo records. Try to contact Steve Spinoza /Piaggio....3rd and final relief was Grey sealer smeared inside tranny..pheww! In parting I gotta give a major shout out to V 11 LeMans and in particularly DOCC and SCUD and a couple more. I could not have made it without you all.👍🤣😃 thank you ! Presently the Sport is languishing while I'm dealing with a failing hip. Was really loving the beast up until 2 weeks ago and had 2 rides getting the OEM Clipons back on and sorted out.i much prefer-am used to that position... not sure if my 73 yo self agrees yet. We'll see...need a good 200mi trip to get a real idea. Last time out I picked up a screw in the front..got it home on temp plug..then did inside plug then hip became the issue. Down to next BIG(not😃) project...the PINK PORK CHOP ! God I Hate that! 🤣 Also looking at LeMans fairings. I'd love that. THANKS AGAIN YOU GUYS !!!

Rydfly... Was that a Scud spring or OEM?

My real question is what's the best method of getting the transmission itself into neutral. Itried pushing the "slee es back and forth while my buddy bumped the rear tire back and forth....not very productive. We only stayed at it a short while. My friend had betterthingsto do. I appreciate the help.
