Built just over a year ago by Bruce Rawsthorne and it has to be one of (if not the) best V11 Sports in the UK. Currently on just £2500 with 6 days to go. Thanks for looking. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330555808689&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

Different bike. Bruce had the newly powder coated engine casings for the Scura in his garage when I bought the V11 in June. My bike ...

Hi Robin. Just to let you know the V11 Sport is going great and is here to stay I think. Just done one thing to it, had some bar end weights made to get rid of that bloody vibration. 100% better now and everyone that see's it remarks what a good job you and Bruce did. Regards. Jim

Well I decided to make make my own bar weights and went to the little engineering shop in the next village. £40 and a day later I had these, mild steel but I have painted them, 1lb 3oz each and a totally transformed bike

Nice job

True and now I know what their meant to be like it should be easier. I thought there was something not quite right as when I first looked at the bar end weight in the right hand side it is the same as the long one fitted in the left but it has been snapped off short as the bar is solid from 30mm in. it never looked like it should be like that. I have contacted a guy in the uk that is breaking a V11 and he is getting back to me. Guzzi dealer doesnt sell the tubes seperatly, you have to buy the clapms and the weights as well and they are over £120 per side
-
Yeah I reckon I have two odd ones. they look the same but the left hand one is a two peice as you call it and I think the right hand is solid apart from the last 30mm. f*ck it im just going to leave it as it is and maybe put clamps and renthals on one day. Thanks for the help though. jim

Thats what I thought but for some strange reason whilst I have a hollow tube on the left hand side when I take the weight off the right hand side and look up inside it appears solid after 30mm which I guess wouldn't be enough for the MS weights. Think I must have odd bars which is why I was going to fit the Renthals, however when they turned up and I took the origenal onees off today it turns out they have a grove slotted into them at the top which obviously cant do to the hollow Renthal.

Does anyone have a top yoke for a 2000 V11 Sport for sale?
-
WHOA what? really? what bike do you have? I had no trouble making mine fit, measure your tube to see what size you need, there are only two sizes, do you have the threaded ends for the stock weights? Should be a really simple operation here no need to get new bars Yes I have threaded ends for the stock weights, did you order screw in ones or hollow tubes fitting?
-
I have ordered two new Renthal clip on tubes to replace the originals. This way I will be able to order some MS weights in the sure knowledge that they'll fit ok.

I have noticed that dipped beam on my V11 Sport is yellow and seems quite quite dim. Main beam seems bright and white, the reflector and unit seems in perfect condition so I changed the bulb .... still the same. Any idea's or are "they all like that sir".
-
That does look like a nice job. I'm thinking that I will fit a set of Renthals to my V11 as I love everything about the bike except the vivs through the bars. Thing is I do like the riding position and the cafe racer style, has anyone simply fitted a set of almost flat bars upside down abit like the newer Thruxtons, and do you think it would look ok?
-
I didn't end up buying any. I phones and spoke to the guy and he seemed very unsure which would fit my 2000 V11 with the standard clip-ons so I emailed him a couple of photos of the Guzzi weights removed. He didn't think he'd have anything that would fit so I didn't bother.
-
Well not being 100% sure what fitting I needed I bit the bullet, called Paul in the States and ordered a pair of black ones.
-
Cool thanks. I see that when I take the weight out of the throttle side there is only about 35mm space inside the bar. Does the MS weight fit easy enough. In the photos on their site the fitting looks longer than that.

Anyone used the Classic weights from Manic Salamander that come in at about 13oz each! Thinking of getting some for my V11 Sport to see if they help with the vibes through the bars.
-
Sorted. I had gone the wrong way lowering the arse end which strangly made it feel better than having it somewhere in the middle. This morning I have whacked up the spring on the back end to about 80% and taken it out for a quick blast. Much much better. Thanks.

They are slack in the sockets and there is a very small amount of play. I wasn't going to bother putting it back on but for £14 it's worth a fiddle with.
-
Great thanks for the answers. After getting the price off a new one I was just going to bin it but then I found this place on the net .. http://www.mcgillmotorsports.co.uk/index.php?page=1&act=viewCat&catId=25 and have ordered two new high performance rose joints for £14. Worth a go.
-
Just looking at my Bitubo damaper and wondering just how slack it should hang in the rose joints. Mine seems very slack and literly dangles loose. I have taken it off and the balls are very loose in the sockets, especially the one in the middle that bolts to the yoke. Question: How does they damper normally sit there, fairly firm or loose and dangling? I took it up the road and to be honest I can't see much difference without it.

After much head scratching, reading and fiddling I think I maybe getting somewhere. Rider (me) average ability and 16 stone (slightly above average). I set the front compression at 4 clicks back from max +. The front rebound 6 clicks back from max +. It feels ok. On the rear I have set rebound screw A at the top of the shock at 20 clicks back from max +. The compression at 10 back from max +. My question is regarding the rear spring preload and the quote above and may seem like a silly one. The adjustable rings at the bottom of the shock were quite a way up and I backed them down incresing the sag when I sat on it to about 35mm. In the quote above he refers to tightening the rear spring which I would understand as screwing the rings upwards thus reducing the sag when I sit on the bike, is that right? Because I seem to acheived a better result by going in the other direction. Sorry if this is all very old hat, boring and I come across as a complete idiot but asking questions and fiddling is the only way to learn.

Mine ... Quiet 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th. Slight whine in 3rd and 6th is loud which being new to Guzzi's was to say the least a bit worrying to start with. Now I just thinks it must be one of the many quirky things I'll have to get used too. Might try the Redline oil though. What about adding Molyslip does that have any effect?

As a new V11 owner trying to set the bike up I'm getting very confused over where I should be starting from. I wish there was a clear factory setting somewhere for the front and rear.
