Hmmm, normally that's water. You must have the rare water cooled 1000S.
Or, maybe there is water collected in the muffler from sitting for years, and it's burning off? Been sitting on the sidestand?
I was coming back from a trip out east, stopped for gas, and an elegantly dressed (ahem) older lady looked the Norge over and said, "I can't drive one of those, but if I could, that would be the one I'd be driving."
That makes two Norges in Nova Scotia. A guy followed the Kid on his greenie and me on my Norge all the way through Halifax just to see them when we stopped. Said he'd never seen a Guzzi before. I was beginning to think he was stalking us..
Well, no. No smoke is normal. What color is it?
Sure. Buy a new float. While you are at it, new needles and seats are called for. That's SOP on an old bike for me.
To the best of my knowledge.. it's easier than you think.
Unless they are different than the Rosso Corsa (I seriously doubt that, knowing Guzzi).. everything inside the tank is attached to the plate on the bottom of the tank.
Of course, I'm willing to be proved to be a dumbass..
Attaboy. I was laying in a hospital bed near death.. when the Kid says, "haven't you been looking for a Monza for years? There's one on ebay that appears to be original if you really look." It had bags and a rack on it, but no holes had been drilled to do that..
If it had been cut up, I'd never have looked at it.
They're not fussy at all, really. This is just another case of picking the fly shit out of the pepper.
I have several that have never *seen* a charger, and some have sat for months at a time. I replaced a couple of them that were still starting bikes, but were 10 and 12 years old.
The one in the AeroLario is the only one I've ever charged, and it's fine after blasting it with a 10 amp charger for an hour or so..
Is that leather? and I LOVE that Italian flag
No, it's a marine grade not leather of some kind. Rich puts the Italian flag on the left side because Italy is a left leaning country..
He turned my Marquis de Sade designed Jackal seat from a 45 minute special to an all day all night Mary Anne seat, too.

A little wider, flatter, better foam.
He's making seats again, but I don't think taking orders right now. Rich is *good*.
Welcome and a V11 is just what you need. Perfectly capable of going coast to coast in relative comfort and being a capable "sporting" motorcycle in the twisty bits.
And... it's the last of the *real* Guzzis.
Join the few, the proud, the brave.. and get a V11..
As this thread popped up again.. the 545 checks 12.94 today. Apparently, once that 10 amp charge got it's attention, the alternator has no problem keeping it topped up.
Uhhh, back in the day at Bike Week (Daytona Beach) several volunteers brought ice to the Guzzi demo rides to cool down the V11 sports that had vapor lock.
