  1. Interesting. I went out to ride the AeroLario, and click, click from the Odyssey. Hmmmm. Read this thread instead of glossing over it. Ok, I'll try running the lights for 3 minutes. Click click. Checked voltage 12.34. Punched the starter button to see what it read, and it cranked fine, voltage was 11.88. I'll file this in the "some things aren't meant to be understood" file. I may have 2 things going on.. I have Harley Bob's battery charger hooked up as we speak on manual, 10 amps. I'll go out and cane the tits off the Monza for an hour, come back and see what the Lario battery reads. If it's not 13.4, I'll repeat until it is, then put it on the tender overnight.
  2. Seriously, I'm convinced UFI had a gasket manufacturing issue for a long time. I'm pretty sure that is what brought on the entire "hose clamp" issue. I quit using them and hose clamps in 07. Recently someone posted a UFI picture with much of the paint gone, so you can add paint prep issues, too. Over the years, I've seen guys with outsiders mention UFIs leaking around the crimp. My Norge did that.. and I haven't used one since.
  3. If you read through the spine raid report I posted yesterday, I dealt with that the whole trip. The issue was the CO trim set too lean. What is your's set at?
  4. Funny. Brad and I were in the elevator of a fancy hotel and I had my Kentucky rally shirt on. A guy entered, and said, "Do you ride a Guzzi?" When I said sure, he said.. "*Seriously??" I thought maybe you just had a t shirt..
  5. When the Kid first got a Guzzi (lowryter's greenie) he said, "This is fun. I can make it better." Never could do that with Japanese bikes.."
  6. Thanks. It *was* a great trip even though the Mighty Scura grumbled about it the whole time. Being so lean, it spit and coughed all the time at small throttle openings and the transitions from light to heavy throttle. Wouldn't run at all at 3000 rpm. I didn't look at the plugs because I knew there was nothing I could do about it without GuzziDiag. As soon as we came home, I pulled a plug, and it was lean, but ok. Whew! 2017-06-04_01-30-49 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr Hooked up GD and set the CO back to +40. I don't get to see the Kid very often.. it was a reeeely good time.
  7. Sorry for the cross post, but lost the original Word file.. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=90554.0
  8. No, the RC has the dual plate clutch.

    Good one..
  13. Uh, what for? Missing?
  14. The Kid will be here tonight with Spot on a trailer. Last night he said he had a total of 25 miles on it this year, so this will be the run to see what falls off. Since (ahem) he's in poor riding shape, we'll only go 300 miles or so tomorrow to Charleston, WV, where there happens to be a Hooters within walking distance of the hotel where we're staying . Funny how that happened.. We'll continue our mini spine raid through Mooresville, NC (race city, pronounced rice) they go ricin there.. through Asheville to see the Mayor of BBQ (doesn't post here) and get a free beer at his brewpub if you're on a Guzzi. Then down the blue ridge, but that is as far as we've planned, so far.
  15. I saw one run into the back of a parked cop car one time. Two guys got out looking like of stiff legged..
  16. I don't need no steenkin lights.. I don't ride at night anyway.
  17. The Mighty Scura likes the number 5, too.. as does every Guzzi I've ridden in the canyons.
  18. The Kid and I blew it off since the east coast guys and Moto aren't coming. We'll go hang out with some friends in Mooresville, N.C. , then down to the dragon, etc, and back through the Ky bourbon country.
  19. Well, that oughta be fun..
  20. I'll bet you could have those high current relays from Digikey (USA) in a few days with reasonable shipping costs. Otherwise, take the OMRON part number and have look locally: High-Current OMRON G8HE-1C7T-R-DC12 Yep, I got a set after Docc kept brow beating me so I wouldn't get left on the side of the road on the mini spine raid/mutton run next week. About 25 bux shipped in a couple of days..
  21. ^^^ beat me to it. Probably Startus Interuptus. If the starter is stuck, it will blow a fuse.
  22. Shamelessly stolen from my friend Kip.. Chicks dig Guzzis.
  23. That's my best guess..
  24. Crap. Sorry about that, Scud. *I've* never heard a bad rod bearing sound like that, fwiw. The pins "felt" normal when you put the pistons on?
  25. Looks pretty impressive to me..
