  1. Yes, Vicky's gone. It sounds cold, but it's probably the best for both of them IMHO. That doesn't make it any easier for Wayne, or us who cared for them, though.
  2. I'm late to this party, but let me tell you about my tube amp. I was cruising by a yard sale and out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw a flip top. (!) Did a u turn, came back, and sure enough.. a B18. "Does it work?" "Nope" What do you want for it?" "Hunnerd bux." "Let's load her up.."
  3. Just for future knowledge how many of those relays on the link given is needed to replace the factory 5? actually my EV would do the same thing. I'd stop for gas and the thing wouldn't restart. I always had ear plugs on a I couldn't listen for the fuel pump. After I played with stuff it would restart for no apparent reason After it happened on a group ride, one of the other riders played with the fuse and fuel pump came right on. It was a combination of the fuse having a little corrosion and not seating in the slot. I probably would have never figured it out. That happened to me at the Ohio rally this year. We'd had an extremely heavy dew. The Mighty Scura looked like the Joads leaving the dust bowl. Climbed on, punched the button, and nothing. Took out my earplugs and the fuel pump wasn't priming. Grumble grumble. Untied everything, took the seat off, pulled the relay, stuck it back in, wiggled it around. Nothing. Sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. Pulled the fuse, looks fine. Uh oh. Stuck it back in, wiggled it around.. fuel pump runs. I feel good!

    Brand-new Scura

Now you know why Guzzi put new cases on them..
  5. Swap meet at the national Antique Airplane fly in. About 20 bux. I also picked up a Snap On 1/4" drive "Torque meter" that's perfect for stretching the belts on a 4V for about the same price.

    Brand-new Scura

Attaboy. Nothin to this Guzzi wrenchin. The only torque spec on the oil pump gear I've seen is to hold it with a screwdriver and tighten the nut. That's automatically self limiting, but with a little blue loc tite it should be good. You'll be hearing that supercharger before you know it.
  7. C'mon Tim.. (it is Tim isn't it? I'm old) you're not a beginner by any stretch. It would look good sitting beside your red LeMans. 2016-08-03_04-28-29 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr
  8. The Kid sez it's the ultimate Guzzi credit card touring bike. I've ridden it and agree. It's not much fun in town or putting around, but get it out on the road and it comes into it's own. It's *very* mechanical, and requires you to know what you are doing.. know what I mean? Neophytes need not apply. 2016-08-03_05-31-54 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr
  9. The Kid loves his 94 Spot. His Grease O just sits now..
  10. Oh, I dunno.. these bad boys are pretty good. [/url]
  11. Dang! if that don't look like a new gasket.. she'll be spoilt. (Tennessee talk)
  12. Beaver, the Turnip farmer, and Greg Field at the Nationals in Oregon this year.. 2016-07-02_10-17-58 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr Greg's had some serious health issues, and this was his first "ride" in a long time.
  13. I'm not a fan of customs in general, but.. I've decided that I'd look good on that.
  14. Merry Christmas, Docc, and thanks for all you do for us.
  15. Ya think?
  16. My last car toy was a supercharged Mini. When it got old enough that I had to start working on it.. it was gone. Fun while it lasted, though.
  17. It is an abomination and should be cast out..
  18. If it matters.. most hoses do.. AN fittings. There are aircraft screw clamps for breather lines, etc. though. They are a little better quality than the Chinese screw clamps you get at the zone..
  19. I don't know how you would see it with the bike fully assembled.
  20. I've mentioned this before, but I had the same sort of issues. The problem wasn't really the bike, it was my lack of core strength. I had my last Ducati, an ST2, and had wrist and neck pain to the point that I took a beating and sold it. I was just a mere youth then in my late 50s. I *thought* I was in pretty good physical condition for an old fart. A personal trainer thought otherwise, and said my core strength sucked. After he got through with (nearly killing) me, I've been back on sport bikes ever since. The Lario is most comfortable, and is my touring bike, but I have done long stints on the Mighty Scura without issue.
  21. It's pretty obvious if you sight down them. A few degrees is pretty easy to see..
  22. That little 500 is possibly the sweetest Guzzi engine I've ever operated. There's just something about it. The whole bike is (to me) more than the sum of it's parts.
  23. Naa, a couple of kayaks.
  24. Well, actually a Monza has been on my list for years. It's a long story, but the Kid found mine for me. Dream bikes? I guess I have mine. 2016-08-18_02-45-05 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr
  25. Now he has the Spot in service, it's his favorite scooter. 2016-08-03_05-31-54 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr
