  1. Ok, ok.. I've located a water jet shop within easy riding distance. I'll go have a chat with them this week to see if it's practical to do that. I haven't kept track of every one that says they want one. I'm guessing another 20 or so? Reply to 59dotChuck at gmail dot com, and I'll get a handle on it.
  2. My internet connection is udders skyward again.. seriously, if you want to do one, just do what Phil did and weld on an extension to yours.
  3. That's a qualified maybe. I've had several inquires.. I'm *not* going to do all that labor again, no matter how much I like you guys. Let me see if I can find some water jet or laser shop that will do the grunt work. Right now, I have more important stuff to do. Off to the Kentucky rally tomorrow..
  4. Well, if you *liked* the R90S, have a hard look at any Tonti LeMans. They are every bit as capable, maybe *more*reliable.. Guzzi didn't put the rectifier inside the engine cases, and more fun. Captain Obvious here, but as far as I'm concerned, a motorcycle is all about the motor. I've had 13 Guzzis of all sizes and types in the modern era, from the early V700 through the Norge, small blocks, big blocks, 2V, 4V, and I've loved every one of them. It's all about the motor. If you are a gear head, and it sounds like you are.. give one a try. They don't let you forget you are "operating a machine," one of the things I like best.
  5. Where's that :hurl: emoticon? I've had two Beemers, too.. but I'm a slow learner. The two valve Guzzi (pick one) is head and shoulders above them, JUST MY HONEST OPINION. No offence intended to those poor deluded souls that actually like them. Guzzis routinely go over 100K miles without even doing a valve job.. if properly maintained. I had an oil head when I first rode a Guzzi. Unloaded that sucker and have never looked back. Chuck, Deacon, Church of Guzzi
  6. Well, I guess mules can swim, but they're slow. Yes the tutorial makes it plain how the preselector works, and is a great resource for us.
  7. The Siemans relays were problematic from the start. That said, I've seen them go for years and 10s of thousands of miles. Just the same, I'd change them all out. Get new ones from Pryo Dan. DPGuzzi.com. Cheap. (Guzzi content)
  8. Ya Think?? That = about 22K miles which is about as far as I've heard of a single plate clutch lasting. You *may* be sitting over a grenade.
  9. I agree, toxic as it is, it is too good to strip off. I used it as a primer, so it is still there, just under another coat of paint. I fitted the shift extender today. It's better alright! That slot is a mystery to me too, it may allow that lever to fit different shift pedals on other models. I'm still going to fettle the gearbox shift mechanism as Lucky Phil suggested. I tried it out on a trip out past the black stump today. It was to visit Dangerous, give him some stuff, and look at his bike. Now that is an awesome looking and sounding exhaust system! I kind of *assumed* the slot was to make up for sloppy manufacturing tolerances.. Glad to see it fits and works.
  10. Phil, I have tracking numbers for US shipments, but not for overseas. What I do have is is a Customs # LJ026837595US if that helps. ? Edit: Pasting that number in the usps website gets a message that it's arrived in Oz and is currently in transit to the destination.
  11. None of the 2 valve engines have the tappet problems.
  12. I sent it by Mule Train. Mules do swim, don't they? Hmmmm, that could be an issue. When mules get tired, they sit down..
  13. Both are great mile eaters. The earlier Norges had too soft suspension. Gave a cushy ride, but handling suffered. There was a problem with the November 06 oil pump. Feel is about the same, including the top heaviness. That surprised me.
  14. Sorry, Phil. .I've seen shipments from Oz take 3 or 4 weeks, yet one made it to NZ as fast as local. Yours is green, too.It would have taken another day for the red to dry. Docc covered the shipping, though, maybe that's the problem??
  15. Absolutely. Sag is the most important thing to get right. Without that, you're just whizzin in the wind.
  16. I'm a fan of zinc chromate. I've seen really old aircraft fuselage tubing that hasn't rusted a bit. Has anyone tried the extender yet? There's probably a reason Guzzi put that slot on there. I'm just hoping they all fit ok, and the suspense is killing me.

  19. Talk to me about the hard bags that fit the Techno racks..
  20. Back when I was regularly taking the Centauro wheels to the local dealer for tires, when he asked how many miles said "What? 'Busas get better mileage than that.." I personally think it's the V twin firing pulses, but I could be all wet.
  21. I sent emails to all, but all continental US shipments were $3. All overseas shipments were $13.50 The one to Canada eh? was $9.50 No fondling charges..
  22. Whew! They're on their way. Minor rant: Why in the world do they have me fill out customs declarations on line with all the information on them, including email addresses, phone numbers, etc. Print them out, and the girl in the post office has to type it all in anyway??
  23. Uhhhh.... what's up with the chicken? Who makes that motorcycle?? It's not in my database..
  24. You're back Chuck, not a slow trip i see Ciao You mean 2016-09-04_04-32-01 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr this?
  25. Sorry, folks.. didn't get them out today. Dorcia and I put 4 hours in it filling out customs declarations in triplicate, getting packing material, etc. I have a pup I'm training to run the CNC, so I had to spend some time with him. Tomorrow for sure. For you out of the country guys, I'll email you shipping and fondling cost after we go to the post office tomorrow.
