  1. Absolutely. Life is short, live it to the fullest.
  2. It keeps the mosquitos away, though..
  3. Ok, I can be the poster child for hearing aides. As Scud said, I should have been a little smarter about it, but I wasn't. Industrial noise, flying, motorcycling, rock concerts, you name it, have taken their toll. I have a medical condition called, "deaf as a post." I've been wearing them for 30 years (or more) and the tech involved is amazing. They used to be not much more than amplifiers of what you couldn't understand anyway. 10 years ago, the person that fitted you was the difference between Roper working on your Guzzi and the local Japanese emporium "tech" working on it. Now, computers take much of the "skill" out of the equation. Fast forward to today, and with micro electronics, computers and "real ear" hearing tests, I can engage in conversations again instead of smiling and nodding. . Until this latest set, I still had to have close captioning on all TV programs. Conversation in noisy areas was unlikely. These bluetooth to the TV, and my phone, and give me the ability to listen to music again. There is still a learning curve for your brain. Is it the same as normal hearing? No. Still amazing, though, and can be a life changer. Rechargable. These happen to be Phonak Paradise, but I imagine other manufacturers can be similar.
  4. Harpers is my vender of last choice. That's all I'm going to say about that.
  5. Hmmm. I thought I mentioned that earlier in the thread. Maybe it was on another post? I've seen that one first hand.
  6. ^^^^ sounds like the two bullet connectors up by the steering neck?
  7. I "lost" the Centauro key one time when I'd stopped for a few minutes. Looked everywhere, pockets, made concentric circles around everywhere I'd been. Gave up on that, and found that somehow, I'd knocked the key out of the ignition when I shut it off, and it had fallen down between the tank and frame.
  8. Yeah, it's a beauty.. but.. they are way too proud of it, IMHO. Looks original, maybe even has the chrome barrels? I suppose if you don't ask, you don't get.
  9. What makes you say that? Have you load tested it? Voltage means very little.
  10. Griffon or Wirehair? I'm betting Griffon. Both are great dawgs..
  11. *I don't know* if it can be wired backwards. If I were guessing, I'd say no. What it requires is time. We're talking minutes here.. If you haven't used one, as the fuel level drops and the thermistor warms up, the resistance changes. At first the light will just faintly glow, and as the fuel level drops more, the resistance gets less and less to make the light brighter.
  12. I haven't followed this thread, but if you are talking about the fuel level sender.. it's not just a switch, it is a thermistor. It takes time for it to heat up when not covered by fuel to keep it cool. People used to unhook the old fuel level switches when fuel sloshing in the tank would make the low fuel light flash off and on.
  13. Yeah, you have to take it apart, clean out the old grease that is hardening and keeping the contacts from er.. making contact. Wire brush them, apply fresh Vaseline, and reassemble. 15 minute job.

Thanks for the kind words, John. Yes, The Kid is a really talented mechanic/painter/Guzzi enthusiast. Yeah, he told me he has had his fun with it, and wants to build an antique.. maybe a Falcone. No, he doesn't do forums. It's totally sorted and is a strong runner. Here's a picture I found.

Number 4 in this picture. I can probably find a better one. https://static.imgzeit.com/reduced/c2ccb5f7dc8aaa83/IMG_20190927_102422467_HDR.jpg

The Kid says his Carb spot is for sale. It's pretty nice.. He's looking for a Guzzi with an external flywheel.
  18. I'm betting the right side will be a maybe 1/4" wide washer. If it were me, I'd look up the parts manual. It *might* show what is missing.
  19. What footgoose sez. FWIW, I put star-tron in a Rosso's tank for winter layover/not much riding, and ended up with the hated bubbles in the finish under the decals. I know.. that's anecdotal evidence, but that was the last bottle I bought..
  20. I have no experience with an 03, but it certainly looks like there should be one..
  21. Hmmmm. Looks like a light pink seat on a dark pink striped bike to me.
  22. Talk about rare. I'm the current "keeper" of the most rare V11S model of all, the Scura RC. (rubber chicken)
  23. Yeah, aircraft hardware can be in difficult places. "$5 for a bolt, and 2 hours labor to change it???" Tools that are designed to pass warranty will have big radii at the base, thick walls, and just barely enough flat to do the job. I should take a picture of a Snap On, antique Craftsman, and modern to show this..
  24. Redline is good sheet, mon.
  25. Well, I didn't intend to hurt your feelings.. it was just a quote. Of course, I've bought stuff from HF. Their hand tools are about the same quality as modern Craftsman, though. *Some* HF stuff is hard to beat for the price, but the OP asked about "professional" tools.
