  1. I take it that jagged line on the flywheel in the bottom picture is not what it might appear to be?
  2. causes silicon dioxide, which screws up relays. It can even travel through the wiring. One of the relay manufacturers has a diatribe against it..
  3. I'm just sayin.. but not all contact cleaners are safe for plastic.. don't ask me.

  7. RIP, Bob. He was my riding buddy, and we rode all over SoCal (and central Cal once) for years and years. Going out to Redondo Beach to ride hasn't been the same, since. Mark did most or all of his maintenance, btw.. We didn't know it at the time, but this *may* have been our last riding day together..

  9. The Scura R was never imported here, and I've never seen one. That said, it wouldn't have the 02 Scura "issues." I would be on that like a duck on a June bug..
  10. I have the HF, and saw pix of the mojo lever and mojo blocks, so naturally I converted the horrible HF lever to a mojo lever. (I have *lots* of Delrin, and a lathe.) Made something that looks like mojo blocks, and have changed *many* tires. I like the mojo lever idea..
  11. Are you sure it's not just the belt slipping? I would think that anything mechanical screeching wouldn't do it for long.

  13. ^^^ What Lucky Phil sez. BIL Harley Bob has EGTs and CHTs on all 6 cylinders of his Continental. He gets worried about them not all being the same. I told him, "too much instrumentation."
  14. *I have no experience gluing the magnets back into the housing, but if I was going to try it, I'd use my go to metal epoxy. https://www.smooth-on.com/products/metalset-a4/ FWIW, I have a Chinese Valeo on the Mighty Scura and the AeroLario. Both appear to be OEM quality. Cheap. (Guzzi content) For the price, I can't be bothered to get dirty overhauling an old starter.
  15. You may not believe this, Bill. but there is a learning curve. The best tip I can give you is to make absolutely sure the side opposite the one you are working on is totally down in the drop center.

  17. Semantics.. but you are right, John.. firing order is 1-2-1-2, but they are *not* equally spaced.

  19. My understanding is the left works a little harder than the right because of the firing order. (?)

  22. I haven't refreshed my memory but it says the T3 had chrome bores. If it does, and it has been sitting for years, they are toast. I have a G5 that has been meticulously maintained with 100,000 miles, and I would ride it anywhere. Sitting for years is death on machines..
  23. I'd rather not know, Guzzler. I also had a 57 Pontiac convertible that for some reason is pretty valuable. Most of us probably would like the use of a time machine occasionally.
  24. I had a 64, the first year of roll up widows IIRC. Got in a baby way and traded it for a Nash station wagon.
