  1. Well, that's a relief. I didn't realize it came from a forum guy.. no offense intended.
  2. Reading between the lines.. I was blowing the 30 amp fuse, didn't know what to do after blowing through the money of buying a new alternator and regulator, and pulled the fuse. That's my guess, anyway. Not to worry, you are in the right place to get it sorted.
  3. Maybe because there is a short that is blowing the fuse?
  4. I'm pretty careful about that kind of stuff.. but I went out and got my modeling clay. Unfortunately, it's gone missing but it *appears* to have plenty of clearance. Plastic or not, pressure on those posts would not be a good thing..
  5. That would be pretty exciting..
  6. I saw some pure copper commemorative coins about the size of a silver dollar for a dollar. Thought, "hmmm, I'm tired of fighting those stupid connections.. made a couple of angled brackets. Cheap. (Guzzi content)
  7. You haven't seen a busy rear axle until you see an early Spot.. It takes two men and a boy just to assemble it.
  8. From my maintenance log: For future reference on brake howl, rear brake side bearing problems, the rear spacer is 113.2mm. Some were short by 1mm.
  9. Gives new meaning to the term "smite."
  10. Awesome. That's doing it up right.. We faced the East and a little South.. raised our very best bourbon, and sang "Happy Birthday" in 2 part harmony. (I also told Luigi he sucked.)
  11. A toast or a curse.. which ever seems more appropriate.
  12. Oh, yeah.. they do that. The best rear I found without going to the dark side was a Dunlop 401 (?) that goes on every Hawg you've seen. Hard as a rock and last a long (comparatively) time.
  13. You just know your hands are going to smell bad shortly. Maybe with some running, the fresh gas will dissolve the crud in the jets?
  14. caution the grease mud for under there lurks the skid demon.
  15. FWIW.. I can't remember the last time I changed the battery on the AeroLario clock, but it's been years..
  16. Sure it can. You *do* need to tune up the pre selector, though. I'm out of Lucky Phil Shifter Extenders, though.. so you are SOL there.
  17. We get our second shot tomorrow. At our advancing (how could that be??) years, we have been erring on the side of caution. We know several people that have had it, some almost died, and a couple of them did. For others, it was almost a non event. I'm thinking that things may never return to "normal" whatever that is.. but by fall it will be much better. I'm certainly missing rallies. (Guzzi content)
  18. Just put an ohm meter on the leads. "Some" resistance? It's ok. Naturally, open or shorted.. not so much.
  19. Welcome, and looking at your list I'll bet you would rather have an 1100 sport. They are more "mechanical." Nothing subtle about them. My Kid has a carb Spot and says it's the best credit card sport touring bike ever. The V11 Sports are definitely more refined, and the last of the *real* Guzzis. Both are kool..
  20. FWIW, pilots seem to like left hand turns better, too. Routine traffic patterns are left turns. I always assumed it was because the driver was sitting on the left side of the ship. I prefer sitting in the middle if possible, and really don't care. Same same with motorcycles. Either direction is fun. Just the same, for whatever reason.. people just seem to prefer left. Maybe it has to do with "handedness??" Dunno. I use each hand equally poorly.
  21. ^^^^ To the best of my knowledge.. no.
  22. With our straight high crowned chip and seal roads in Indiana, tires wearing on the left side more than the right is common. Sad, but true..
  23. Used to until my hand blew up.. thanks for that.
  24. ^^^^ I don't either. I could tell a tale, but I won't.
  25. Imagine that..
