Gratuitous Pics of Girls + Guzzi
Chuck replied to sign216's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Griso Girl.. a retired French fashion model. *Much* older than she looks if you look closely. Good rider, too. No, better than good.. fast. -
Rule of thumb: if the knob sticks out of the left side, it's left hand thread, and vice versa.

A couple of years or so ago, The Kid on his carb Spot and I on the Mighty Scura spent a week hooning around the Smokies. Arrived at Wheels through time on a slow day (fortunately) and when he realized we were serious gear heads gave us an all day tour. (!) It must have been the Guzzi shirts.

Lay down the tools, back away from the machine, and nobody gets hurt.. That sucker is super easy to cross thread. It's perpendicular to the block, but there's an optical illusion of sorts when eyeballing the sump. This very thing is what caused me to buy a metric thread file 20 some years ago..

^^^^ I don't *think* so, although the only heat treatment I've been professionally involved in was in tool steels. As LP says, aluminum hardens with time. Take, for instance, aircraft "freezer" rivets. Once this alloy is annealed, they have to be kept in the freezer so they will be soft enough to drive. As they age, they get harder than...uh..Chinese algebra.

I remember joining was kind of like an old text game of Dungeons and Dragons where you had to guess the right word to continue on..

ANSWERED Transmission Frame Mounting Bracket on a Centauro the Same as a V11?

I would say that isn't the lack of the brace.. -
I've had a couple of Beemers, but I'm a slow learner..

I assume you've seen Itchy Boots? A Himalayan has been most excellent in her travels. -
Well, he wasn't going very fast, but he *was* having a good time.. and that is what it is all about anyway.

Pretty road. Needs a shifter extender.. "you have to stomp on the gear lever"

Replace the spark plugs with screw in desiccant cartridges.

My sweetie got me a Formotion clock for Christmas. It's been too cold in the Guzzi Garage (tm) to even think about installing it, but it *will* go on. One way or another.. That Timex looks nice, Docc. I installed something similar on MZ I have in California.

Or.. like me.. get out your die and punches and make some out of soft 3003-0 aluminum. Free. (Guzzi content)

^^^^^^I just received an order of 6061 T6 aluminum from McMaster-Carr aircraft supply.

Crap.. that isn't leaking.. it's pouring. Having it running probably isn't the best idea, IHMO. Yes, you should be able to do a good epoxy/fiberglass repair if it is where it appears to be. Prep is all important.

What is daunting to one just may be recreation to another.. Carry on, Kindoy.. I'll get my popcorn, too.

The Kid grew up with Blanca, a German wirehaired pointer..the smartest dog I've ever known. Great close ranging bird dog, and absolutely fearless retriever. He has Belle, now.. who has been spoiled by Nora but still a good dog. -
Sublime.. PD, give Rosie a pat on her hump for me.. she's a good girl.
-
From memory yes. I don't remember whether the bike has to be on the work stand or have the weight on the rear wheel, though. Looking through my maintenance logs, the last time was 4 years ago. I have a hard time remembering yesterday..

I dunno. The Kid, when he had Low's Greenie said he couldn't grease the front U joint. I took my rig that I'd been using on the Centauro and the Mighty Scura for years to his place. Tackled it with a grin. I couldn't do it, either. *Something* is different.
