A few years ago, I was riding the Mighty Scura through the "snake" on Mulholland in SoCal. I pulled in to the overlook on the top, and a guy came over to me. He said, "I'm pretty good at telling what is coming from the sound. I would have sworn that was a V8." While we were shooting the breeze, he called out the next three correctly..

Sorry, it is a *surface* gauge. You can measure height with a height gauge. I have one out in the shop, but I'm too lazy to go out and take a picture. A surface gauge is not obsolete.. it is still as useful as it ever was.

I've never even *seen* a Motoplat. There just may be a reason for that..

Found in FB Marketplace, not mine: 2001 V11 sport, $3300, Virginia beach

(Ahem.) This *is* Guzzi we are talking about here.. -
I used them to send the Strada to SoCal. They were running a special at the time, and I couldn't have ridden it out any cheaper.

Hi, Vic.. thanks! "King, this case is closed." (Maybe before some of you guys time) It's a HF. My paint booth is a big cardboard box. No doubt there are better powder coating guns.. but it works well for what it is. There is a little learning curve.. this batch was better than the last batch.. but nothing like learning to spray liquid, even a rattle can is harder.

I have some experience with the old small blocks, but I've never seen that.

Always glad to see a satisfied customer. My QC lady said this is the best batch yet. I think the water jet guy put a journeyman on the machine this time..they fit in the cavity of my fixture precisely, so everything is "on the money."
-
Other than they both charge the battery.. not much.

Installing a doohickey was the start of the KLR from Hell saga.

I just dropped them off at the Post Office. I'll either PM or email everyone with exact shipping cost when I get around to it. I have some glueing and honeydo's to do today. I had the water jet guy use up all the material, so I am now a "stocking dealer" of Lucky Phil Shifter Extenders (tm) although I think the market is about tapped out.

D'oh! Forgot. Sorry, Docc..

Powder coated green stuff today. I coated a couple more in the next batch, so I'll have Lucky Phil Greenie Shifter Extenders (tm) in stock. Flat black tomorrow with any luck at all. Once the quality control lady gives her ok, we'll package and ship probably early next week.

One is fine. It's no big deal to hang it with the other parts. I'll contact you when I mail them out with exact mailing charges. No fondling charge.

^^^^ Mark at MG Classics asked me if I would bring out my "4V tools" when I came out to SoCal for Christmas one time. He had sent out a Daytona engine to a "guru" and it wouldn't run when he got it back. He doesn't deal with "new" stuff. Uhh. The flywheel had been installed wrong. Hello. Earth calling..
-
True.. true. Could I put the same number on all of them?
-
Ok, listen up. I have them machined and formed. I will *probably* powder coat them tomorrow, or maybe Thursday. If anyone wants a Greenie Green one, let me know. I'm planning on coating some airplane parts with that color and I could add shifter extenders to the batch. Unless you speak up, you get flat black. This ain't the Burger King..

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled program. I have the mill set up, and will start the last no doubt highly collectable Lucky Phil V11 Sport Shifter Extender (tm) run this afternoon. Yeah, I know.. I said the last one was the last. But. I have a precedent, set by Guzzi.. "Hey, Luigi..those 500 numbered Rossos sold pretty well. Let's run another batch."
-
I also ran 35/38 on the old Angels on the Mighty Scura.. but YMMV.
-
I've never run the GT, so I'm no help either, but following the 10% rule should get you in the ball park.
-
I chased a weep on Rosie the Rosso for quite a while. It wouldn't show up until she was *hot.* Finally found a pin hole (literally) in the valve cover. Knowing the manufacturing process.. it boggles the mind how there could be a hole that small in diameter going all the way through.
-
I've never kept one.. I've flown them though.. nice old birds.
-
I was looking back through some pictures the other day to find how I'd mounted the engine on the Great Lakes.. I'd forgotten the details, of course.. but the whole airplane is scratch built. It took a little more than a few hours with an angle grinder, btw..
