  1. The best windshield by far (IMHO) for the Tontis is the original Califia (?) fairing. The name escapes me at the moment. When I had the Jack-All as a solo bike, I could put the big hand on 90 and smoke a cigarette if I smoked. Yes, as Pete sez, they are as ugly as a bag of farty assholes, but pretty is as pretty does.
  2. Strange. The AeroLario is my allarounder. Grocery getter. Load it and go to rallies, etc. I've never thought of it being "twitchy" at all. The problem I've had is finding a good 16"rear" for the AeroLario. There are several 16" fronts.. Anyone?
  3. "I'm a Dapper Dan man.."
  4. ^^^^ What Phil sez. John, you haven't gotten there yet, but add another 10 years or so.. At least you are *aware* and doing something about it. I quit on my previous airplane project because I'm not supple enough to get in it any more.. I can still ride the Mighty Scura though.. Edit: The other "Chuck in Indiana" has 10 years on me, does yoga 2 or three times a week, and is amazingly flexible.
  5. I did a tutorial here..
  6. Tim, I did the 35mm film trick on the Mighty Scura's forks, and it helped for a bit. Finally decided to change out the seal, and found a small burr that was the cause. Carefully stoned it off, and haven't had a problem since.
  7. Have you checked your pot (assium) level, John? Maybe eat some banannas? Just throwing a dart.
  8. test rode a new new one at the Oregon Nationals in '16.. the AeroLario would take it..
  9. The crossover looks unusual.. but so what? I'll bet you will like it.
  10. Calling Mr. Roper. Mr. Roper to the courtesy phone, please..
  11. Failing memory says that the seal starts leaking when the bearing fails. Pete will be along shortly to refresh my memory.
  12. So, I'm assuming you fixed the seal? Was it a bad bearing?

    Decent Tune-up

Ok, back in the day, some suspender snapping pipe chewing Guzzi Guy gave them a rash of sh!t about (probably) his inability to tune a Guzzi with it. That is when that disclaimer came out. Same deal with Bub exhaust. Pogo was right.

    V11 Custom Builds

    Needs knobbies.
  15. Uh huh.. uh huh. You'll look kool on that..
  16. I'm clueless (my normal condition) about it..
  17. It doesn't have anything to do with fueling. I imagine Cliff knows what he is talking about..
  18. Yours are new tech. The old ones were "cutting edge" 25 years ago, and absolutely ate batteries. My Federals were one of those. I had a job running glass filled Delrin that absolutely ate up the rack and pinion of indicator calipers, so I bought in to the new digitals at that time. If you got a month out of a set of fairly expensive batteries, you were good. I didn't mind at the time, it was part of the cost of doing business.
  19. I'll bet you get a great view of your knees instead of your elbows.
  20. That's a *nice* stable, Tom..
  21. Yeah, battery powered digital calipers suck. I dumpstered my Federals.. gimme an indicator caliper every time. Come to think of it, about all of my tools are antiques. How could they be? I bought most of them new..
  22. That old one in the back's jugs are sagging..
  23. It's the best place in the world to be if you are wrenching on a V11S..
  24. How long before one of these bad boys takes your picture and automatically sends you a ticket? See the size of the muffler on that 660cc single? Stock? WTF??
