  1. Ok, send me your snail mail..

    Decent Tune-up

The technical term for that is "picking the fly shit out of the pepper." You'll never notice it when going down the road. Yeah, Dave's a good guy.
  3. The shift return spring failed on the Mighty Scura. That's what got me into the whole tuning up the preselector thing.
  4. Will do. Either send me your snail mail address by PM or email.
  5. Geeze.. I probably have it but send me a PM with your info. We're officially on track to make some. If anyone else wants one.. speak now.
  6. No. It's just 6 bolts. The special tools are for removing the clutch. You'll need them to install it, too. You may have already warped the intermediate plate and or clutch plates by not using it.
  7. And yet, you gave me no end of grief over my gaudy gaiters. (tm)
  8. Chuck

    Thanks

^^^^ Ahem. That would be Shirley.
  9. Think about how the clutch works. There are two clutch plates with an intermediate plate between them held together by a pressure plate and springs. All three are located in the flywheel by splines. The inner splines fit the transmission input shaft splines. Engaging the clutch frees the plates. They are free to rattle back and forth because of the uneven firing order of the Guzzi engine. Naturally, as they do this, you can hear them. What you don't want to do is leave the clutch "engaged" for any length of time because of this. Bump it into neutral and release the lever as much as possible. That will reduce wear of the flywheel, clutch splines, and transmission input splines.
  10. Unbelievable. You can't trade Guzzi parts for crack. You're probably right, they didn't know what it was.. it just looked great.
  11. ^^^^Yeah, but the problem is "unite." This country is the most divided it's been since the civil war, IMHO.
  12. We have people dying around here. Lots of em. We're staying home and hoping for the best.
  13. Rosie the Rosso Corsa came to my place with them, but I didn't like the look on her. Changed them to the stock location.
  14. Ahem. I'm looking for the hammer, and not seeing it..
  15. As if Guzzi would tool up to make something new..
  16. Consider yourself lucky. Although they are normally as reliable as sunrise, they are also a wonderful sleep aid.
  17. What Phil is saying..
  18. unfortunately, I've gotta agree.
  19. This. Hopefully, he'll get through it.
  20. ^^^^ Docc for the win!
  21. That's seven.
  22. Dang! I have all of that stuff, including the mechanical tachometer, although it's considerably simplified. I can't believe it's all antique..
  23. A little off topic from "that" suspension.. but Guzzi Bob (RIP) and I were leading the pack on a less than perfect central California road when he motioned for me to pass. At the next rest stop, he said.. "I was going as fast as I wanted, but you were pushing me for the first time." I said, "let's face it, Ohlins wins out over your 1000S suspension on a rough road. It has nothing to do with who is the best rider." It's true. That's the difference, really.
  24. I would avoid Fram. I *think* the Walmart brand that fits is ok.. forgot the number, and who makes it. Guzzi delivered new bikes with the Bosch 3330 at one time.. I've used them for years. I would also avoid the UFI.. there have been many issues with it.
