It's easy enough to see the difference looking through the porthole if you know what to look for. Someone recently posted pix of just that on WG, but I can't find it..

Mostly street? Getcha some Trail Attacks.

You can make stainless look like a pewter dollar with a big buffing wheel and rouge. Off the bike, of course. Once you do that, you have to be careful to keep your fingers off.. they have oil on them. That way, they'll turn bronze more evenly.

Sure, I'll give that. PM me your details, what you want for shipping, how you want paid, etc.

Took a spill on the freeway

Good for you, good for the gear, and good for the head guards. Well designed ones are meant to be sacrificial. I've seen some that are *way* too sturdy and they break stuff. My biggest fear is getting hit from behind. Glad it worked out ok. Sort of. -
I've seen several cases of what I call "afterthought engineering" on Guzzis. The Centauro was particularly bad about that. That's ok.. it's Guzzi. One of their endearing qualities is that you can tinker with them and make them better.

There is a free program called "convert" an engineering program that converts about anything. I've used it for way too many years. I can't seem to get the "lead to gold" conversion to work, though..

Correctamundo.

That's a pretty rough crowd you are hanging with, Bill..

The belly pan sez "Lario.." Black gaiters are for conformists..

Great artists are never understood..

I wanted everything to be red and black except for the motive unit. That way, it draws your eye to the big jugs. I likes big jugs..
-
Uhh, that won't play well with Lucky Phil. I trolled him a couple of times when I did the Aero Lario build. He did not like my gaudy gaiters at all..
-
I use it all the time. It's not my main brake, of course.

SOLD - 2003 Moto Guzzi V11 LeMans - San Francisco area
Chuck replied to jmardy's topic in Personal Ads
Strange. The seat (Rich Maund) and cowl on the Mighty Scura came from Eldo Jon's champaign LeMans that a friend of his crashed. I've never taken the time to paint it black. Of course..it *is* Guzzi we're talking about. -
I may or may not have solved my battery rat's nest of wires this way. I was at a gun show, and a guy was selling commemorative coins for something.. don't remember. But.. they were supposedly 100% copper and cheap. (Guzzi content) So I bought a couple, sawed them 3/4" wide, bent them 90 degrees, and soldered a nut on the back. I see some green showing where I apparently didn't get any Vaseline. Time will tell if this is a long term fix.

You'd be guessing wrong. California roads are as good as you get in the states. I've been everywhere, man.. wrote a song about it. SoCal *is* crowded.. on the weekends. During the week, I pretty much have the canyons to myself. Don't get me wrong.. I love NW Arkansas, too, along with Colorado, the Virginias, Carolinas and N. Georgia. Too many frost heaves in the green and white mountains of the Northeast takes them off the list. My favorite road of all time used to be Beartooth pass from Red Lodge to Yellowstone, although fairly rough. The scenery is freakin awesome, though. Then, I rode 180 east of Visalia, Ca. Up to the top of the mountain range and back down, glass smooth pavement, maybe 50 yards is the longest straight. Talk about technical.. California roads are hard to beat.

He has a supercharged nitrous 1400 bike, but it's also his own frame. All sillyness, of course, but he customers with plenty of money. Agreed. I think they're as ugly as a board fence. Just the same, the workmanship on Todd's Jackal is excellent.
-
I know Pete has some animus toward Todd Egan .. but Todd has always treated me like family. Saw him at the Rock Store the last time I was in SoCal, caught up on old times.. and this is what is left of his Jackal. Pete has said he would like to see a carc on a "modern" Guzzi, so here it is. It's behind a heated up V11S engine. High zoot front end etc. etc. Very well done, too.

They are 'nice' riding roads, but best? Naa. Of course, you may prefer different fish and chips than I do..

Ya know, Roy.. I did the startus interuptus following your most excellent directions..including cleaning up the ignition switch and relay socket. After that, I did the direct feed from the solenoid to the battery trick. 15 times in a row. No issues. Cranked instantly every time. Fixed. So I thought. Until I took it for a ride, was 20 miles away, and it blew the fuse again. That's when I bought the Amazon special.

The rule is: if the knob is on the left hand side, it's a left hand thread.

I would be more than happy to take those off your hands for spare parts..
