  1. I lusted for one that was in a "dealer's" at the time. Had a megaphone exhaust with it from the factory. Fortunately, I couldn't afford it..
  2. Sworn to secrecy..
  3. I just checked to make sure I had "notifications" turned off. Yes, I do. I still get notified sometimes. Two today.. no big deal really, unless I get one for every post.
  4. Thanks. The front end is a Unit. It is the first they made for a Jackal after some measurements travelling back and forth across the Atlantic. I built it for a trip on all of route 66 that I could research. I *knew* there was no way we could be out for 3-4 weeks with all of Dorcia's (ahem) stuff on two wheels. After that, it became our long distance rally rig for a couple of years. I bought the Jack-All tractor at a wrecking yard with 600 miles on it. The car came from Pittsburg, and had been rear ended, but had nice stuff on it like a brake, and *electric lean* so the rig could be trimmed out to run straight on different cambered roads and cross winds. It was a successful rig, but while I can operate one, I'm just not a sidecarist. I'll look and see if I can find a picture of the car. Edit: Ahh here's one with the top up so m'lady would be more comfortable in inclimate weather.
  5. The site notified me. Occasionally, I'll get an email about a thread. I just assume it's something wonky with the site.
  6. I love singles, too. The first "real" motorcycle I ever rode was a friend's Harley Sprint. It probably kindled my life long love of Italian machinery..
  7. Lack witted..
  8. I've known Mark at MGC for years. He's a great guy, but doesn't do computers. I've told him that they are *easy* but he's not interested. That's why I recommended Sean. If it is just "normal" service, sure.. go to Mark.
  9. Sean Fader is your guy. He used to have his own shop.. RTL moto from memory but I think one of the shops hired him. Pro Italia?
  10. The drawing is on page 29. Almost 2 coils, .071" diameter wire.
  11. I took the MZ to Moro bay, and rode the coast down last spring. Awesome trip.👍
  12. Traction control, and this electronic gimmickry is getting out of hand. <snapping suspenders>
  13. If *I* make them, I'll make as many as are spoken for. It's not like I set up a spring winder and run a batch.. it's all by hand. Paging Mr. Scudder.. Mr. Scudder to the courtesy phone, please..
  14. That sounds awfully tight to me. Really, pinch bolts don't take much. You are only closing the yoke by a thousandth or so. Remember when people were cracking the forks on the Stelvios by tightening the pinch bolts on the axles?
  15. Nice score..
  16. That D side footpeg/muffler hanger just looks weird to me. Looking at the Mighty Scura, it's very hard to tell the D side is angled to the right compared to the one in the above picture. Maybe a little, but that's a lottle.
  17. Here's the old Jack-All hack tractor.. Like I said, you can make a Jackal anything you want.
  18. Nope, a Jackal is a California built to a price. Single front disc, no integrated brakes, adjustable suspension, tubeless wheels, etc. What it is.. is a blank canvas. A fine bike in it's own right.
  19. That Redline heavy is tenacious stuff. It'll be hard to get rid of. I quit using it when I couldn't get it all to drain out of the rear drive and over filled it a bit when I "drained and measured.."
  20. They are quite similar. Early Tonti's are the same, as far as I know, up to the LeMans 3, which had a longer swing arm..from memory.. always dangerous with me. Then the steering neck was longer from the Cal 2, I think..swing arm length changed again, maybe other changes like a wider swing arm on later models. As far as I know, though, the frame rails stayed consistent, so yes, the frames are similar. Take all this with a grain of salt if you are planning on making an early LeMans out of a Tonti frame, though.. the information is out there with enough research.
  21. Swing arm/rear brake to start.
  22. My bad. I blame Buffalo Trace..
  23. Uhh some kind of glitch when posting..?
