  1. Unfortunately, riders..just like pilots.. are human. That's why there are check lists for airplanes. All it takes is for something to interfere with your "start up" routine, and you *will* forget to put up the sidestand. I don't disable that stuff.
  2. You are no doubt the first guy that has discovered that..

    Unread content?

Hmmmm. I just click "unread content." There'll be a list of that. I'll look for the last reply time/date thingy.. Edit: Nope, don't see anything like that. Ok, Gots it. There is a little clock thingy.. It's hard to teach an ol dawg new tricks.

Ear plugs are a necessity. Period. The wind noise alone will damage your hearing. Trust me on this..

    Unread content?

Nope, on my computer. Win 10.

    Unread content?

No matter how many times I click take me to the latest post, it defaults back to showing the first post in the thread.

Yeah, I've dealt with those things. Just use a cap screw, and consider yourself lucky it fell out.

Scud, I spent all day in the Formas yesterday. A pair of smart wool socks took care of the rubbing on my shin. For new boots, they were quite comfortable. I'm a happy camper.

    Unread content?

Is there a way for unread content to show the latest post instead of the first post? I have latest checked in the Unread Content area, but it always shows the first. It's a pain.. I know.. it's probably the idiot running the keyboard, but I can't figure it out.
  10. I didn't have too much trouble with the Rosso Corsa's rear, but Unkept's LeMans required the ox acetylene torch.

Hi, Scud.. I bought a pair of the Forma Adventure Lows to replace my ancient Sidi On Roads. So far, the jury is still out. The good is they are wide, and don't squeeze my paddle feet. The hardware appears to be good. The bad is they are pretty stiff.. still not broken in I'm assuming.. and there is a place in the front that rubs on my leg. They *do* appear to be quite well made. I did a fair amount of hiking in my On Roads on my trip down the California Coast last month, and the Formas would have failed in the same situation. I'm thinking (hoping) that they will be fine once broken in, though.
  12. I learned entirely more than I wanted.. or expected.
  13. I'll bet those intake rubbers are cracked all the way through causing a lean condition at low speed and the accompanying lean spit.
  14. I learned much to my chagrin that Shockproof heavy.. the pink stuff.. is so tenacious that it won't all drain out. Adding a measured amount will then over fill it and it will leak. A lot. I quit using it and went back to Mobil 1.
  15. Most excellent adventure, Scud! Thanks for the pix..
  16. Very kool..
  17. I don't get it. What knob are we talking about? Knob creek is pretty good..
  18. I have nothing for you. If the pre selector is working properly.. I dunno.
  19. Knock knock.. is this thing on? Blowing into mike.. What do you want for the regulator? :)

  20. It'll be duck soup, then. Just make a cavity with a light push fit on the diameter of the bezel. Depth will be the same as the bezel. Yes, one of the speedometer repair shops *has* bezels, but at an exorbitant price.. he obviously wants to get paid to work on yours. <shrug>
  21. If you are sure you need to disassemble it, the bezel can be removed. I machined a pocket for the bezel to fit into, but others have used a big hose clamp. The trick is to keep the bezel from deforming as you carefully go around the crimp with a tool such as a tack puller, or a specially ground screwdriver. Just keep picking up the edge slowly as you go around it. Putting it back on is just the opposite. I used a peen punch with a polished radius to slowly tap it back in and down.
  22. the Kid needs a regulator, what do you want for it?
  23. I don't know anyone that has one that doesn't like it. Just the same, be aware that Guzzi is dropping them. It will shortly be an orphan with really complicated electronics..
  24. amazing route 12 is right. Did that a couple of years ago. It had my vote as most scenic road in America.. although, I just came back from doing Big Sur on the MZed. It's awesome, too. Tough call.
