  1. I was hooking up the camper lights last week to go to Oshkosh.. and nothing. Nada. Unplugged, replugged, wiggled it around.. nothing. Went to the Guzzi Garage ™ grabbed my can of DeOxit, gave it a squirt, plugged it back in. Lights. I could sell that stuff..

    Go_Winkie!

    Me, too..
  3. You think there might be a little corrosion on the solenoid?
  4. You are probably searching in a topic that doesn't have much activity. Just go to "forums" and search.
  5. Every plastic tank I've had has swollen with 10% fuel. I first discovered it with my Centauro. The first time I took it off for service, it wouldn't go back on. I was thinking, "WTF did I screw up this time??" Literally spent hours with modeling clay to see where it was hitting. Finally realized the tank had "grown" in length. Orthodontia with tie down straps didn't do it. Finally came up with a different way of holding it down. It was still that way several years later. Rosie the Rosso Corsa developed blisters under the decals. The Mighty Scura tank has grown in length, too, but still fits. Barely. (Whew!) Fortunately, Apoo the local Indian guy has 90 unleaded when his pumps aren't locked down. Went there tonight, but all the pumps had bags over the nozzles again. Came on home, and will wait until he pays his credit card (or what ever is happening) so I can get some more.
  6. Rox, I went through that with the Rosso Corsa/Mighty Scura. Having both in Indiana didn't make much sense. The Scura won. My friend Jim just ponied up the bux when I told him what I thought Rosie was worth. For anyone that might be looking, I've ridden Rox's Lemans. It is the best running stock Lemans I've ever ridden.
  7. It *is* Paul, isn't it? Gettin old is a bitch.. but Paul, make sure that the bead seating area is cleaned really well by whoever puts on your next set. That is the normal slow leak. The other is simply a valve core.
  8. Agreed, Docc.. I've used nothing else for several years.
  9. From memory.. Greg Field posted a fix several years ago.. if you find a new one. You have to cut it open and lube the gears. The metal gear is the one that wears..again from memory. Hey! I'm old. Can't remember everything. I was going to look into possibly making something, but Rosie the Rosso Corsa went to a friend when I brought the Mighty Scura back to Indiana.
  10. I've tired em all. Used to be an Angel fan. Conti sport attacks. I don't know how long they'll last, but that wasn't on your shopping list.
  11. The Scura, Rosso Mandelo, and Tenni had the single plate clutch. FWIW, the Mighty Scura is that old, has 36000 miles, and the injectors are fine.
  12. *Something* is wrong.. it shouldn't take more than a partial turn..
  13. So.. if for instance, the Midwest Antique Airplane fly in in Wisconsin gets weathered out, and a guy (hypothetically) jumped on his Scura and cannonballed down.. would there be a place to stay at the last minute?
  14. Welcome Gavin.. Uhh, she'll be worth it.. She's a little different, but you'll learn her ways..
  15. If it's only the left cylinder, I'd look where I've been. Spark plug cap firmly screwed on the lead? Maybe the lead loose at the coil. Cap tight on the plug? Left throttle body firmly attached? Simple stuff first..
  16. Beechcraft found out about this with the Starship and bought them all back, as far as I know. They didn't do well with lightning strikes..
  17. Docc.. we're all lucky to be able to play with our motorcycles of choice.
  18. I had a Centauro bought over the phone from a Chicago dealer. When I arrived, he said, "sorry, just got my new blue book, and it's $1600 more. I never said a word. Just turned on my heels and walked, even though he was calling my name.. I don't play those kinds of games.
  19. Uhh, it's really common for any bike to shake it's head a little when doing that.. especially if the front tire is worn or the steering head bearings are too loose.
  20. You could have a fine LeMans with 80 horsepower.. Just keep the weight down.
  21. Where's my corncob pipe??
  22. Ohh Ohh, I'll play. My almost new G5. Only a couple of thousand miles to go.. 2018-07-02_08-25-33 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr

    Maps?

Hey Docc.. the Kid and I used that map on our Carolina's Spine raid last year. Worked very well.. Here, the Mayor of BBQ is giving Brad some tips and a free beer for riding in on a Guzzi. 2017-06-04_01-38-12 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr Sweeten Creek brewery. I'd recommend it..

    Maps?

BTDT with the Mighty Scura. I'm going up to Wisconsin this weekend. Maybe I can help cloud the issue. Czakky sent me some maps.
