  1. I believe it is. Disclaimer.. I've never tried doing it.
  2. What Lowryter said.. but.. you can turn the ignition on, then off a few times to get the fuel pump to prime the system.
  3. This is the first time I've heard of an oil pump failure on a V11..
  4. Didn't mean to offend you, but watching the intake valve movement is the absolute no brainer way to tell when it is coming up to fire on that cylinder.
  5. Watch the intake valve while you are turning the engine in the direction of normal rotation. (Clockwise, viewed from the front) When the intake valve opens, then closes.. the piston is on the firing stroke, and when at TDC, adjust the valves. It's not rocket science..
  6. Take a valve cover off and start her up. You'll find out in short order whether you have oil pressure or not. Have a few rags handy..
  7. What makes you think that?
  8. Fuse F2 powers the injectors, coils, and fuel pump. There is a wire that is known to break in the ignition switch that causes the tail lights (from memory) to quit. It's bedtime.. I'll look tomorrow if everyone hasn't figured it out.
  9. Mike's phone number.. 832-557-7214
  10. There are some guys on WildGuzzi that know Mike.. I'll ask if they have contact info.
  11. Attaboy. If you don't have the Scud spring, I'd recommend it. What year V11 btw?
  12. Have you checked with Mike Haven at MPH? The last I knew, he still had some.
  13. Oh, man.. sorry for you and your dog. Unless they have changed it in the last couple of years.. yes. the 20-50 is still SG rated. Correct. When you pull in the clutch lever, the 2 clutch plate and intermediate plate splines are free to rattle back and forth on the splines of the transmission input shaft. Not much, mind you, but that is what you are hearing. If done for long enough, it will wear a flat spot on the input shaft and cause you some grief. Bump it into neutral at stop lights, etc. When you let out on the clutch lever, the springs will hold all those parts tightly and no wear will take place. That is another reason to keep the rpms up at idle. There will be less shaking when the clutch lever is pulled in.
  14. I put over 40 K miles on a Centauro.. about half of them 2 up. (!) Dorcia and I went everywhere on it. HB bags and the (ahem) luggage rack were plenty for 1 up rally/camping. It's essentially a V11S with different but quite capable WP suspension, and that great (if you don't mind tinkering with it) Dr. John 4V motor and a 5 speed. Aesthetics are subjective.. I grew to like it.. but it still looks modern today. I had many comments, from What the hell is that?? to That's really Kool, man.. The Grease O is just a modern version of the Centauro. Both are great non cookie cutter bikes. Love em or hate em. I'll take door number 1, Alex..
  15. I suspect the Centauro is more of an acquired taste that the V11 Sport. They are more similar than different..
  16. I'm not so sure of that. A Guzzi is definitely an acquired taste. It took me about 5K miles before I "bonded" with my Centauro. More than one have told me that they bought a Guzzi, and were riding home thinking, "What have I done??" After a period of acclimatization, it becomes, "They'll pry this Guzzi from my cold dead fingers.."
  17. It's either a corroded/loose connector at the neutral switch.. or the switch itself is flaky. Easy peasey to fix.
  18. Yep. Me, too..
  19. I believe Mr. Roper described it as "like two skeletons fornicating on a tin roof."
  20. Agreed. To the other questions, sure, the V11S will cruise at hyper legal speeds all day. They are *not* full on sport bikes, but very capable Sport touring bikes with as good of an engine "feel" as there is. If I were looking, I'd look for an Ohlins equipped bike. They don't bring that much more on the used market. That would be Scura, Rosso and Nero Corsa (LeMans fairing) Cafe sport, (I think) and Coppa Italia. I would put the Unbreakable Pawl Spring on either. Available from Scud.
  21. Turn it in the direction of normal rotation, clockwise, viewed from the front. Do the left (Snot dis side) first, turn the crank 270 degrees, do the right. (Dis side) Nothin to it.
  22. Unless it's changed, it's not SG rated oil, either. *Most* of the Redline oils are, though. If you have to choose between ratings, take the one that is SG over just being 10-60. There are a lot more cars than motorcycles that call for 10-60. The manufacturers are making car oil in that grade, with a few exceptions. The last I knew.. Mike Haven (MPH Cycles) had a few.
  23. ^^^^ Like Footgoose says.. the Mighty Scura was dyno tuned with a PC *many* years ago. It runs bitchin. I'll just leave it alone.
  24. Aaaaarg.. I just received this: Uh oh. That means someone paid for 2 and got one. For whatever reason, I had Rob down for 2. Who did I short change?? I'll get into this in the morning. We're having a dinner party tomorrow night, and I have to make a rib rub, and get the ribs prepped tonight.
  25. I wouldn't be the guy to tell you what to shake, Docc..
