  1. Running 7 down the spine of the mountains seemed appropriate. IMG_20180519_103911119_HDR by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr We did several of the justly famous roads in the area. 2018-05-21_09-01-46 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr Good times, for sure.. Thanks, John.
  2. True, but it *won't shut down the motorcycle* if the tach quits. I have a spare Veglia speedo and tach for just that occasion, though.
  3. Can't hurt.. except for maybe leaving the power on the injector for too long.
  4. Gorgeous..
  5. As many times as I've had that thing apart.. you'd think I'd remember all about it. I *think* the pins the wheel ride on are just pressed into the casting. No need for a seal, if so.
  6. I have mine. Shouldn't need any more in my lifetime..
  7. I thought I posted on this, but it must have gone to the ether.. What you *have* to do is keep the bezel from deforming. Because I could, I machined a cavity in some plastic I always have laying around and pushed it into it. Once that is done, you can carefully pry up the crimp a little bit at a time with something like a tack puller. You don't have to go all the way around. I have read of some successfully using a large hose clamp around the bezel to do the same thing, but have never tried that.
  8. I'm looking forward to it, and I'll definitely buy you a beer, pal..
  9. This all started when Lowryter was bad mouthing the Mighty Scura when the operator stupidly put the o ring on the wrong side of the shim on the phase sensor.. in a fit of brain fartage. With a 2000 rpm rev limiter, that Greenie *might* be able to keep up..
  10. To anyone that's on the fence.. *assuming* the old hotel is the same as when I was there a few years ago, you (and your sweetie) will love it. Pix on the first page. Oh, yeah.. the riding is pretty good, too.
  11. You're good, Tom. To the rest, sorry, but there will be a delay while I go down to Arkansas and spank Lowryter..
  12. The only hard part with fixing the Veglias is getting parts. I have a couple of free (Guzzi content) Veglias from wrecked bikes to cannibalize if necessary for the Mighty Scura.
  13. We'll have to agree to disagree about Guzzi vs exotics. About the only thing on the Rosso that is unobtainium is the decal set, as far as I know. A good painter can do those graphics. The plastic is repairable, if not destroyed. I don't know of anything else that isn't readily available and will continue to be readily available.
  14. No problemo..
  15. I'm ready. You ready to get spanked? ..
  16. Docc.. I'm thinking it just may be time for an intervention..
  17. Unless you've sent me an email without your screen name, I haven't heard from: Tom3 Tomchri (2) Tinus89 Stumble_T Ian correct me if I'm wrong..
  18. John, if you still haven't trouble shot the dodgy neutral light, it's simple. All the neutral switch does is provide a path to ground for the light. Unhook it and ground the terminal to the block.. key on, of course. You should get a steady light. If not, you either have a loose connection there, a flaky switch (common) or a broken wire/bulb socket/bad bulb. (really uncommon)
  19. I would think it would be more accessible in the FAQ. If you look now, you'll see several instances of shift spring failure, but nothing saying it has been fixed.. Someone thinking about a V11 might just say, "Uh oh. They are *still* doing that? Nevermind.." If the whole thread goes away, it wouldn't be a great loss to American literature.. and you wouldn't run out of beer pinning something. Edit: I see you pinned it while I was typing. You work fast, Docc..
  20. Running out of beer even once would be once too many..
  21. More SoCal talk! We've seen what the girls wear to stay warm there, too. Like rear fenders on a V11, doesn't seem to take much . . . Oh, I dunno. I've been riding a bicycle down the beach in shorts and a t shirt and the beach bunnies had on Uggs, fur gloves, and parkas.. Man, it was cold. Musta been 60 or so..
  22. au contraire mon ami.. keeping a V11 going indefinitely is easy. No unobtainium parts, no ultra sophisticated electronics that may or may not be available 20 years from now. Besides that, Italians and electronics give me the willies.. Oh, forgot.. no MVdiag available to troubleshoot it yourself. Too many possible gotchas for me.. yes, I'm fully aware they are outstanding. I've been spanked by lesser bikes, though.. Chuck, deacon, Church of Guzzi
