  1. Doh! Forgot to include a hammer.
  2. Meanwhile, in the Guzzi Garage ™ 2017-06-20_07-48-17 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr I've moved the test rig up here so we don't have to listen to it clacking away in the shop. 2018-03-09_08-56-38 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr The "production" spring is coming up on a half million cycles. I'll let it run a while longer, but am pretty sure it is unbreakable.
  3. Yes, it is pretty. Just FWIW, but in my opinion, those head guards might cause more damage than they would save. Hit the outside hard enough, and it will more than likely strip the threads and break the valve cover at the minimum. Back in the day, before anyone else made them for the Centauro, I designed some that were *sacrificial.* I know of two sets that saved the cylinder/valve cover when sliding down the road. The guards were toast, though.
  4. Beetle tutorial here.. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=73938.msg1501311#msg1501311

  6. I'll play. Ok, if you are talking about the Centauro .. I'll throw a dart and say around 6500 if it's truly nice. Maybe 7500 from someone that really *wants* it. You don't see many of the sport version. The Scura with original clutch..4500 if he's lucky.
  7. Uhh, if there is too much fluid, it can get stiff enough to lock up.
  8. Hmm, I got a tube from MG Cycle a few years ago. It's a lifetime supply. Want me to send you some until MG is back in stock?
  9. When you do that, you are assuming the last guy in there knew what he was doing. You are also assuming there has never been a fork seal leaking. That's more assuming than I am comfortable with.
  10. Different strokes for different folks. That's why they make all kinds..
  11. I've only worked on two forks on the Spineys, the WP on the Centauro and Olhins on the Mighty Scura. Both required removal from the bike and disassembly to service. About a 2 hour job. The WP in particular took patience to get all the oil out then to get the air out when refilling.. certainly more work than changing engine oil.
  12. All you need is a lawn tractor and a rope thrown across a rafter..
  13. No, a kid gave it to me, and I sent it back to him after giving it a try. Haven't heard from him in years..
  14. Mr. Nevada and Skate would have you fixed up in no time..
  15. Some days, "you" get the bear..
  16. I have 2 words for you, Docc. Sig 3000. Maybe that is 3? It's the most tenacious lube I've ever used. The next time you are in there, it will be too. I use it pretty liberally without fling off. 2017-03-21_07-56-27 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr
  17. 58 fl lbs =78 Nm.. same same.
  18. I tried it on a Centauro, and it was horrible. Different lines.
  19. "Almost" an extra loop. This gives a little preload for more pressure on the upshift. Got mine today, too. Busy right now, but shortly I'll put it on the test fixture and run it until the spring or test setup blows up.
  20. That would be DPO. Distinguished Previous Owner.. I've seen their work many times.
  21. Yeah. Best beer in Indiana. (really) Food's decent.
  22. Thank you for peeking out the hamn dammer. Somehow, it helps life make more sense . . . And, if it is going to be multiple choice, "titanium" will be the correct response 83.476% of the time. "If it can't be fixed with a hammer, it must be electrical.." Oh, and congrats, Footgoose. If you're looking for a place to go, Indiana Guzzi lunch today 1Pm, People's brewpub, Lebanon.
  23. I had a set of titaniums on Rosie. The sound was sublime.. maybe the best ever. The problem was I couldn't hear her when wearing earplugs. Had to keep giving out test rides just so I could hear her motoring away.
  24. Added a little class.
