  1. I saw Scud's Greenie at the Sandy Eggo rally this weekend. It looks really good in pictures.. but fabulous in the flesh. It's obviously had hands on..
  2. (scratching head)I wonder how they carved 75 ! pounds off of it.
  3. Uhh,why are you doing that?
  4. It's Italian. When looking in the inspection hole, D is Dis side.S is Snot dis side. I'll get me hat..
  5. I can type as fast as I talk, but I'm pecking on a tablet with one finger. To be absolutely clear, the left cylinder is assuming that you are sitting on the bike. .facing forward.
  6. When I was getting the Aero Engine primed,it took 30 seconds..which seemed like 30 minutes.
  7. I'll bet its 180 degrees out. The damage may have already been done, but bring th left cylinder to TDC on the firing stroke. To do this, turn the engine clockwise looking from the front, and watch the intake valve. When it opens, then closes, the engine is on the firing stroke.Adjust that set of valves at TDC. You will see the S in the inspection hole at TDC. Got that? Ok.Rotate clockwise 270 degrees. You should see the D in the inspection hole. Yes? Adjust that set of valves and report back.
  8. Eish. Dealer for years.Cant give you her number until I get back from Socal.
  9. The person that takes over keeping one of Scud's machines will be lucky indeed.(I'd do a thumbs up, but I'm pecking on a tablet that doesn't support that)
  10. I think it was Footgoose that said he couldn't bond with it.
  11. Ok, Ill admit it. I'm old and weak.. but I can't *imagine* taking one of the "adventure bike" things off road. Unwieldy? Uhh that's putting it mildly. If your adventure is putting down to the local Starbux for a Latte..maybe.
  12. In my experience, MI and Ida Mae are generally the least expensive sources, but MIs website sux and Ida Mae's is non existent.
  13. Sure sounds like a valve train noise from a few miles north of you. I'm going to throw a dart and say wiped cam lobe.. but the next throw might land in a different place. At any rate, as luhbo says.. You didn't put hydraulic lifters in it did you? Sounds like one hasn't pumped up..
  14. All I can say is it doesn't go down that fast, but don't try to hold it. Put it right on TDC.. I've done it *many* times.
  15. True..but all that happens isthe piston goes down. Crank it around to TDC ready to fire and try again. Leak down tests are done at 80 psi. A good used cylinder will be about 5 % leakage. Over 10 % is suspect.
  16. If the piston is exactly at TDC it wont move. Hissing at throttle body, intake valve.exhaust valve will hiss at the muffler. Rings at crankcase breather. Sorry for the cryptic posts, I'm pecking on a tablet.
  17. As I mentioned a while back, it's time for a leak down test. .
  18. Oh, I imagine it's over spray from DeOxit when I put the new Omrons in.
  19. There might be a reason that they deleted that light on later models.

    Ram Mount.

Just think of all that money Guzzi could have saved if it isn't necessary.
  21. I thought you last said 157mv?
  22. You mean your's actually works? I think mine is activated by phases of the moon.

    Rear Axle

    1) Agreed, but since the wheels are different widths, it's worth being aware before having something machined. SP can pull his and inspect/compare if he ends up with a later axle. 2) Yeah, I think the nuts are the same, but I think the RH sides in 2000 vs 2002 take a different size hex wrench - and I think the 2002 takes a larger wrench. Ah, gotcha. Wow, my (2000) right side hex drive is 10mm. Bigger than that? Lots. Don't make me walk down to the shop and get my calipers..
  24. Welcome, Vents.. I predict an affair with the V11S, too.
