  1. Thanks Doc, my search has been relentless with all the immediate "Go to" guys. It appears Harper has what I am looking for, hoping it is the appropriate variation, should hear back soon. http://www.harpermoto.com/sump-flange-blk-semi-gloss-01003290.html I am thinking while the bottom is off the bike I may purchase some of that Harley black crinkle paint and give the sump a spray. I noticed it could use a little love, and maybe the alternator cover as well. Im not sure i would use the same spray though. I believe Scud mentioned it a while ago, there sure are a lot of parts to make that kickstand work. Now on to source out a P.Ropper Slopage plate!
  2. Opening an old dusty thread! I fixed my previous electrical issue, with the help of Kiwi Roy sending me some electrical maps however I now have discovered something else....FUN to deal with. A Broken Casting for my Kickstand mount. Ill post a photo when I get my camera at it and better lighting. I noticed there was a tiny wiggle in the assembly area and on closer inspection there is a crack where the bolt is completely separated from the casing. The large bolt is still intact, but I am concerned about its strength. Im going to need a new....Ring Case? Oil Spacer? I do not know the actual name of the part but by the looks of it this may be it. Moto International? MG Cycle? Anybody have a spare? While its off, maybe I should invest in the Ropper Slopper? I would rather not bodge anything together, I have read about welding and brazing JB Weld etc...... i have money, Ill do it right. Ill probably give a few companies a shout tomorrow and see whats available, I wouldn't mind getting it ASAP as far as riding season goes here in the north its been great! Thanks,
  3. Also, in reply to your hunt for crossover question, someone here was nice to quickly post a link to these guys for me when I asked the exact same question. http://www.guzzitech.com/store/product/gt-rx-v11s-headers-no-core/ Many good things said about the quality of their stuff.
  4. Hello Rhino, I recently had the crosspipe removed on my 04 and it was very quick and easy, he used a piece from the actual crosspipe to patch onto each hole of the downpipes. The finish looked great, however I had them ceramic coated, cant see the difference either way!
  5. Just another pic to help, with the bigger picture, it may not help at all... I am open to learning more about my bike and if need be purchasing a new wiring kit off of an online retailer, after a quick look I couldn't find any at MG cycle but I wont stop there. An AME genius friend of mine is coming over in hopes of a nice bottle of rum to help remedy my issue, my underground parking lot is similar to that of a dark cave so it should prove to be fun.....Aviation mechanics work in all sorts of conditions right, should be a breeze...... Thumper, we are going to go as far back as it goes and see where it is, there may be a few other wires affected and if need be will use so high quality connecters and redo as much as necessary, so far it appears if its just that one ground wire affected, and that goes back to who knows where. Here in Fort McMurray it may still be cold, and currently snowing a touch at the moment, (Most the snow is gone) but the roads have been clear and full of potholes for me to avoid but i was excited to take it out for the weekend. Thanks Kiwi, Im giving you a shout right after I make this reply. I should update my profile, I have left beautiful BC....but Ill be back!
  6. So, I reinstalled the battery after removing it for the better part of winter, started the bike and all is well. At this point the seat is still off sooooo then I accidentally drop my screwdriver in the ECU wire bundle area, a bit of a spark, then yellow electrical smoke spews out from somewhere underneath the ECU, (NOT FROM THE ECU HOWEVER). A Big WTF is being said out loud and in my head as I removed the screwdriver from the area and waved the smoke back and forth, which did stop shortly after....The wire shielding from only one wire was completely toasted nothing left, but exposed copper wire, I do not know how far back it goes I havent made it that far yet. But it looks like it may go back to a fusebox or the relays. WIll updater soon. The thing is the wire that is had its shielding completely burnt off, appears to be a ground wire that was grounded on one of the corner nuts of the ECU (the corner closest to the positive battery terminal). Where does it come from? Does this make sense to anyone? It also had a wire that was heat shrink wrapped to it that came from the ECU PLUG this wire was not burn and is still intact. I decided to come here and maybe get some insight, I cant read an electrical map for the life of me but i can fix most small issues with the tools I have. No fuses were blown, but i cant tell yet about the relays. The photo looks worse then it is, there may be a slight burn on a few other wires. but also I have noticed this has bene a trend on this bike, (I re did the wiring for all the electrical for the lights and noticed other burnt wires) I hope this made some sense....
  7. Looking for Mistrals, Oval or Round. Im in Canada, I don't mind paying the shipping for North America Only. Preferably the cans with removable silencers. Thanks!
  8. Hope this Helps.
  9. Call the folks from FBF, Fast by Ferraci. I purchased mine a few months ago. They did not have it listed on their website so I simply emailed them and a week later I had it in my mailbox, (Sorta) It has a couple issues, one less important tenth other. There are no directions for wiring but it' pretty straight forward. The bigger one is the brake light, its small and not all that bright. I would love to find a way to retrofit the LED brake light (stock shape) that Harper Moto sells. Its 10 times brighter then the POS FBF offers. I am very happy with the Tidy tail though! http://www.harpermoto.com/led-taillight-conversion-for-v11-sport-and-lemans-1999-2004.html Good Luck.

You may be interested in one of these for the Oil Cooler. I had mine coated with Linux. It looks great. Now if I could only find black matching Hex Screws.......but I think you might have a lead on that! 50Eu from the good folks at RossoPuro. Rich

    Brooks Leather Grips

I finally received the seat from my guy in Calgary, @ Degreeves Automotive Upholstery. He did a fantastic job and he threw in a nice touch, you can see in the corner on one of the photos. The leather tape comes from a company in England and as you can see he just sewed it up and wrapped it around. I thought the leather may be a little slippery but cause of the direction of the overlap and the stitching it does a better job of keeping my tall (6.4) body away from the tank and from scuffing it. Hope you guys like it as much as I do......I might add that it is no longer as Dark as "Scuds" New Whip, but the contrast is great. Almost makes me think if I should just powder coat the Pork Chops a bit darker. It has been -15 -20C the last few weeks here and now it is Muddy and +5, so a Picture in my underground is just as picturesque as the ugly slush outside....yes I did add a little filter to compensate....
  12. Will do, out of curiosity I was going to ask them that question when I ordered them, Ill be talking with them tomorrow so hopefully I can get some feedback to you in a day or so.
  13. Well I settled my problem, going with GuzziTech, seems like a far better build and looks good too. Im still on the fence weather to Coat them or use an exhaust tape. Either way, they are mine. Im also going to have to purchase the flanges as well.........Anybody need OEM Headers from a 2004 Sport.......... Thanks for the input guy/gals. Your all on the Christmas Card list!

    Brooks Leather Grips

I haven't had a problem yet. Only thing I could add is just a touch slippery in the rain, depends which gloves Im wearing however. I took the idea from a friend and his bicycle. He had some grips from a tennis racket on his fixed gear and it got me thinking what else was out there. The same company I purchased the bar tape from from has a Grip but for a bicycles as well, after doing some searching I have seen a few fellas make the proper modifcatinos and retrofitted onto their bike. Also looks very cool, but at a close inspection while in the shop it didn't look like it would last, it was made of plastic but I could be wrong. The character the grips have only gets better with wear/tear. Coincidently it matches the colour of my wallet, im kind of hoping it shows similar wear after some time.

    Brooks Leather Grips

Unfortunately I have to wait for the fella who did it to get back from Vacation.....JAN 5!!!! I wanna break into his shop now and get it on the bike! So I will wait patiently like a 6 year old on christmas day wanting to open his gifts..
  16. Purchased these grips in Honey from Brooks England, at a local bicycle shop in Calgary. I think it gives the bike some excellent contrast, much like the red pork chops. The stock strip adhesive that comes with it is ok, however after riding a bit I could feel they wouldn't last so I did my best removing it with some MEK and sourced out a 1300L Cement from 3M.....(Used on Aircraft). Did two Coats on both surfaces, and that sure made the difference. It was easy to get the perfect wrap using the little perforations as a guideline. Sooooooo I liked it so much I had my seat wrapped in the same stuff! I purchased 3 more boxes sent them off to a fella that knows his stuff and he returned with this baby just a few days later. (Last week). The light is different so there is a different tone in the colour but I can assure you, it looks unreal!
  17. Well, it is superficial, it is cosmetic. My 04 has a cross pipe at the front, and I prefer the look of a the older bikes without it. Mine has a bit of a vibration issue I can't seem to solve either. My intent is to purchase some 1" Black/Graphite Exhaust tape and wrap the whole thing up, cross over included. I am looking into Ceramic coating as well. The drawbacks of the tape would be the requirement to replace it every couple years. I don't know how well ceramic coating holds up to chips and dings from rocks. Both have their benefits to keep heat from escaping, (I think thats the way it works?!) I guess my best bet is to call a shop and see what they say. I also purchased a Oil Cooler Cover from Rossopuro and painted in Black Line-X. My oil cooler has been peppered pretty good with rocks during the brief (4 month) period I have owned it, so I figured may as well start protecting it now.
  18. Im looking to pick up a new set of headers for my bike and I am faced with this odd dilemma.......does anybody have an experience with them? http://www.guzzitech.com/store/product/gt-rx-v11s-headers-no-core/ They are over twice the price for what I could get the stock headers for. I see there is a note on the Guzzi Tech headers, "No Core", do the Stock headers I may pick up from Moto Int. have a core? My intentions are to simply bolt them on the my Stucchi X-Over and Mistral Overs. I don't mind paying a premium for a better product, if its worth it...... Feel free to chime in, Im a noob, feel free to send some constructive criticism my way! Thanks!
  19. I was very close to purchasing this bike! However the Seller and I couldn't find a way to get to each other other over the summer. Great find!
  20. Big fan of my Rizomas! If I need a little better vision in the city, I just turn the mirrors 180 degrees.
  21. The one site I did not bother to look at! Thanks Racer. Rich
  22. I have a 04' V11 Sport Naked, I am looking for a set of headers without the cross pipe (below the oil cooler)......Im looking for a cleaner look that will continue back to my Stucchi crossover and to a set of Modified stock pipes.....anybody out there? I spoke to a fella at MG cycle and he said there just wasn't any interest so they never ordered or stocked any. My intent is to wrap it in an exhaust tape after. Please and thanks.
