  1. I have a 2007 Norge and love it. I use it on "longer rides" and when I need the use of the bags/trunk. I plan on hitting the road for a few days on it later this year....thinking a run up to the Barber Museum. It's only an 8 hr ride from home.
  2. Well it ended up being the TPS. The new one came in, installed it, and went for a spin. It was wonderful! The sputtering/burping/hiccuping has been eliminated and the bike did great on a 20 mile loop under varied loads and speeds. Time to enjoy the bike!
  3. Docc - I was reviewing your "Decent Tune-Up" post when the notification of your reply popped on my screen. :-). I already have the bike on the table cooling down so to turn some wrenches in the morning. Thanks!
  4. Got it tagged this week and went for a spin today. I think I have a fuel delivery issue as it is sputtering/burping/hiccuping under slight throttle under load...about 3k rpm +/-. It doesn't seem to do it under heavy- full throttle, while idling, or when I rev it neutral. Off to view the "Technical Topics" and FAQ sections to seek wisdom and guidance. :-)
  5. Was able to spend some time in the shop today and changed the engine oil (and filter), gearbox oil, and rear transmission box oil. Got some fresh fuel, wet the tank, crossed my fingers, and hit the starter button. It's alive!!! Let it run for a bit, no leaks or issues, and went for a spin around the block. I had a huge grin on my face. Next stop will be to the DMV for the tag. Felt like I was on such a roll I even changed the ignition starter switch on my '78 Pinto. Unfortunately that battery is suffering from sulfation and wouldn't even take a charge. Pulled it and off to get a replacement tomorrow if work cooperates.
  6. No worries docc :-) The GEIs will go in and the OMRONs will serve as the backups. The one TYCO is trash and the other will go in the toolbox for "troubleshooting" duties.
  7. Thanks all for the guidance and link to dpguzzi. It did end up being the the relay. The 3 OMRON relays are fine and one of the two TYCO relays was the offender. I reached out to dpguzzi to order the set of 5 as having working spares on hand ensures I will never have this problem again. :-)
  8. Frustrating but nothing new for me...one step forwards two steps back seems to be the way for me. :-) As the fuse is good and the turn signals work I was thinking a plug is loose and or they (brake lights, horn, headlight) all travel through an electrical component that has given it up. I'll be back in the shop Saturday and will start with the relays....maybe it is related to Relay #2. If so that would be easy. I can swap relays around from my other two working MGs and either confirm that's the problem or dig deeper on the electrical diagram to see if there is another electrical component in common. And of course that OMRON relay is listed as discontinued.
  9. UGH...went to start trying to figure out the electrical issue with the headlight, horn, brake light loop. I was unable to remove the fuel lines from the two nipples on the fuel pump assembly. I saw some videos that showed how to release them but no luck what-so-ever and didn't want to snap anything off. I resorted to lifting up the tank to get a visual on the connectors and "pop"...snapped fuel delivery D nipple on the fuel pump assembly. I could then figure out what was going on and why both wouldn't release. The coupler was "stuck" on each and wouldn't allow the "barbs" to move thus becoming one with the nipple. Was able to finally get the other fuel line off of fuel delivery C nipple and remove the tank inspect the electrical connections. All look well so time to break out the electrical diagrams and figure out what's up. Already have a new nipple from MG Cycles on its way and the couplers now move freely and this shouldn't be a problem in the future. :-)
  10. Rerouted the fuel filler vent hose ...no problem at all. Replacing the headlight bulb...well that was another story. Taking off the fairing was a breeze. R&R on the bulb was easy. Hit the key and no headlight high beam or low beam :-0. Check date fuse and it was fine. Looked to see what else was on that loop and nothing....no high beam indicator on the dash, no horn, no brake light....ugh. I hate vehicle electrical, so this is going to suck. Went to do the fluids and another UGH. How do I get the oil filter cover off?!?! I have a ton of metric stuff from wrenching on Porsche 944/924 over the years but nothing to fit that. Frustration is really starting to set in now. Came in from the shop, cleaned myself up, and did some poking around. Found out the MG "official" part for this and WOW do they think a lot of this part. Started the search for a proper substitute and then remember the "How to" section here. Discovered the old thread of "V11 Sport - Oil Filter Change" and found out that the tool kit should have the proper tool. Back to the shop and to what I think is the complete tool kit and YES it was there! It fit, put a wrench on the other end and YIPPIE it loosened up. Looks like tomorrow will now be fluid change day. I'll get back to the electrical issue at some point (did I mention I hate working on vehicle electrical issues!).
  11. It's the fuel vent and overflow hose that "empties" out at the bottom of the bike. Picked up a replacement piece of hose today along with fluids so that I can hit the road all "fresh". :-)
  12. Pulled the K75S I was working on off the lift and put the V11 on the lift. New battery, air filter, and plugs today. Replaced the one blown fuse and put some extra fuses in the tool bag. Heading to the auto parts store tomorrow for a section of hose to replace the one attached to the fuel vapors blow by pipe. Also looks like I need to replace the headlight bulb as well. Making progress. :-)
  13. LOL well that battery is as expected...REALLY dead! As she sat for 3 years prior to me getting it, it was to be expected. I'm just going to go ahead and pick up the pieces/parts to do all the filters and fluids (as well as a new battery) prior to firing her up. I'm just wrapping up doing this on a buddy's K75S that sat for 6 years so when I get that off the lift table, the LeMans will be there in its place. The LeMans is in much better shape than the K75S as that was parked with a bunch of ethanol fuel in the tank. What a major mess that was to clean the rubber/fuel goop that coated the inside of the tank (as well as anything related to that fuel system). His parking it this way wasn't planned as he broke his hip. The LeMans was parked knowing it wouldn't be fired up anytime soon and so it wasn't carrying that nasty fuel for 3 years. I just scoped the tank and confirmed no goopy mess in there. :-)
  14. Well my 2004 V11 LeMans arrived today. So I met the shipper, brought her home, then tried to figure out how to remove the damn seat! Eventually, with the help of the Internet and multiple searches, I located the keyed seat release on her throttle side. :-0 Rigged up the battery tender and hope to fire her up tomorrow.
