Air condition/ heat shop "mini-split"
Lucky Phil replied to PJPR01's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Yes Chuck a small split system is the way to go. If 2.5kw or under here they are simply plug and play so you don't need an electrician. Just install yourself using a vac pump to purge and you're golden. Phil -
Now I think about it the manual fault was in a manual I have for the Daytona and 1100 Sport IE. One had the PF03 and the other the PF09 but the pins are not the same orientation. The manual didn't differentiate this which led to confusion for me making an adaptor cable as has my previous post. Phil

I suspect you have the wires connected to the wrong terminals. One of the manuals is wrong when it comes to the outer terminal to connect to. Try using the centre and the other outer terminal. Phil

Me thinks MM got the inside info on Pramac maybe not staying with Ducati and didn't want to be stuck with a Yamaha and the rest of the handbags at 50 paces from Campinoti is just smoke and mirrors.

AS pointed out the MV setting is for a fully shut throttle blade on the RH cylinder with the idle stop backed out and the fast idle lever clear of the cam. I use a small tie wrap to hold the rh throttle blade fully shut to set the MVolts with the LH throttle blade disconnected via the circlip holding the linkage on the LH throttle actuating mechanism. Once the MV's are set I then confirm the connecting rod pin will slide through the l/h throttle blade bush with that blade fully bottomed in the throttle body bore then re connect the linkage. Phil

You can buy a tester for 12 bucks Au Mick and I have brake fluid in sealed containers that are 10 years old and still zero water content. I've also bought new fluid that was 1.5% water contaminated out of a sealed bottle. Thats why I open it and test it at the counter in front of the staff before I pay for it these days. Phil

I can't believer people still manual bleed brakes and clutches when you can use one of these. Dirt cheap and a million times more effective. I actually use a Motive products bleeder which was way more expensive at the time I bought it. Vevor sell good stuff. A speedo doesn't need to be accurate it just needs to be consistently inaccurate. Same as a timepiece for navigation doesn't need to be accurate just consistent in it's inaccuracy. In my 3 cars the speed indication varies at 100kph by 2, 4 and 6kph for each one. Over reading always. I know the inaccuracy and adjust my speed accordingly. Personally I'd just use my phone GPS speed for a short run on the bike, detect the speedo inaccuracy and then set your future riding speed accordingly. The last thing I personally would want on the bike is yet another instrument and wires and pickup all powered by a button battery to add clutter and complexity. PS the police in Victoria Australia will ping you for anything over 4kph over the limit. Thats under 2.4 mph so they are brutal here. Phil

What does all this mean. I'll make my own nut and cut the thread myself on the lathe. Phil

Doesn't rattle at idling at the lights docc, no good. Then again neither does a quality aftermarket Ducati Dry clutch. This is the EVR slipper unit on my 1198 track bike. The only noise you hear at idle is the straight cut primary gears clattering the clutch is quiet. Note Mick the vented cover....because it's cool and cooling https://www.desmo-racing.com/en/sliper-clutch-cts-racing-sbk-48-evr-ducati-xml-253_351-2812.html

The thing weighed 321KG wet! Thats not a motorcycle it's a big fat wide horrid contraption of some sort. Any bike that weighs 321KG is a disgrace. Phil

It is 1mm pitch. Phil

Red frame. Smaller diameter. Phil

Yes Pete. My RE 650 fuels perfectly, and I mean perfectly all the time. back in the late 90's I owned 2 Triumph Daytona triples a 98 and a 99 model. Both had Sagem injection and were a year apart in manufacture dates and in the 12 months Triumph had learned absolutely zero about how to get them to fuel nicely despite numerous map updates. Still stalled pulling up to traffic lights regularly etc. My mate had a customer Daytona race bike in the shop and retro fitted a Motec ECU to it and we went to the dyno to map it and Pete had it perfect in about 20 min on the dyno. Sagem and Triumph couldn't get them right for years. That dyno run was interesting in that Pete ran the bike up to redline in 4th or 5th gear and on the run down unplugged the original Sagem ECU and installed the Motec and it just continued running as it came back to idle. Then the fine tuning started.

I know I'm a grumpy old man these days but there isn't a bike in that video I'd have any interest at all in owning. If I was the owner I'd sell all of them and buy 2 decent bikes with the money. Funny these days how people lust over motorcycle that we were all puking over back then.

Mitsubishi or Dakin. I have both. Phil -
Because it's "cool" Mick and it's like a MotoGp bike clutch. Anyway dry clutches are the overwhelming majority out there in the Automotive world. An Aussie company is now making twin disk automotive clutches that are "universal" and don't rattle at idle like all other performance car twin disk clutches. https://uniclutch.com/about Phil

I was thinking more of single point threading it and there is a larger ID visible on the outside of the nut that means you can thread all the way through. Phil

Racings great these days isn't it! You limit electronics that are eventually developed and filter down to the road bike market to enhance road riding and safety and replace it with the rabbit hole of aerodynamics that has zero road bike application or benefit and just causes extreme tyre management issues on race bikes. Pure administrative genius on the part of Dorna. Phil

Congrats on retirement Pete. Time for travel. You and Jude are welcome here of course. Melbourne would be like a summer holiday for you right now weather wise, lol. Phil
