Don't forget the tea and breakfast bap plus the racetrack also known as Wales
-
Nice bike Denis, might see you at Abber one Sunday, give me a shout.
-
Hello Stew, why can't you warm it up on the stand are you saying that the bike won't run in neutral? I assume the switch only earths the wire so have you tried pulling the wire off and earthing it then the light should come on confirming a faulty switch.
-
What you talking about JJ? What's JJ ?
-
One of the first things I do when I buy a V11 is cut the wires off the 30 amp fuse and solder them together, the fuse was getting hot and starting to melt, also I have replaced the TPS to rule it out.
-
Thanks for all your input, sidestand switch is bypassed, but I agree it is likely to be an ignition problem, I can live with it for now and see if it gets worse.
-
Yep done all that thanks. the bike runs fine at lower rpm.
-
This is not a big problem but it would be nice to sort it, at 6k rpm I have a hesitation a bit like hitting the rev limiter, I can power through it but if I hold it at 6k in any gear it does it, I have refitted the stock exhausts and it still does it, the bike is standard, I don't spend much time at 6k rpm so I can live with it but I would like to fix it, has anyone had this?

Bristol Italian Auto Moto Festival 2014 Sat 19th April

Just got back Andy, we rode in with hundreds of Italian bikes from Gordano services, a bit chilly but dry, plus a ride over the bridge into Wales on the way back, mucho exotica everywhere in the city centre, great day. -
Woodcraft riser clipons 54mm clamps and 64mm risers, fit the risers to the rear to bring the bars back, stock pipes do reach ok, drop the forks about 10mm as the new clamps are deeper than stock, this will only work on later bikes with the bars fitted on top of the triple. I also used the stock tubes and bar ends

Shifter stuck, maybe NOT return spring problem?
Steve S replied to Craig's topic in Technical Topics
What is the 'pork chop'? Porkchops are the frame plates where your footpegs are located, (Spine speak) -
Just ordered a set of Woodcraft clipons from the USA, half the price of UK supplier, you will need 54mm clamps and they come with a choice of rise from 0" to 3".You will want to fit them under the top triple and the clamps are in two pieces so no need to dismantle the forks. My plan is to fit them, with 1.5" rise, above the top triple and turn them around so that the bars are nearer, not sure if this is going to work yet so I will report back. Also you may find someone who wants to go the other way and swap the top triple, clamps and bars.

Shifter stuck, maybe NOT return spring problem?

This used to happen on my last V11, an 02 Rosso Mandello, the lever would stick in the down position usually when coming to a halt, if I let out the clutch gently it would return up, never knew what caused it, as it only happened a few times it never bothered me. -
Dupli Color Metalcast MC200 anodised red, I used it without the base paint and masked out the pork loins as they are a pain to remove
-
Thanks, got about 17k miles on it, the red was faded when I got it so I've repainted the valve covers, frame plates and belly pan with Dupli Color metalcast red, nice finish and heat proof, I would love to know how many Neros came to the UK, don't think it's many.
-
Andy the Mistrals have arrived without db killers so I might make something up, they may be a bit loud for touring, bike seems to run ok without any fuel mods, I have the stock collector fitted. I ordered them through Stein Dinse in Germany, £320 delivered
-
Here's my 05 Nero ready for when it stops raining here in the UK New Mistral megas took 8 weeks to come from Italy Stucchi belly pan, spoiler Ventura luggage system Adjustable clipons
-
The spoiler came from Teo Lamers in the Netherlands, just checked their website and it's out of stock now, I must have had the last one.
-
I think you are right, How about this red? it's the same paint as I used on the valve covers and porkchops,

I have an Odyssey battery fitted and a charger connected as the bike is not being used much in the Winter, why is this not a good idea? it states in the Odyssey manual that a 12v, 3amp trickle charger can be left connected for extended periods.

The size of the piece is 5mm diameter and 5mm long or a steel ball bearing of the correct size works.
