  1. Not had it on the dyno but have ridden it with both x overs and can't tell any improvement, I will keep the Mistral on for now as i can see your point about better scavenging.
  2. I fitted a Mistral cross over yesterday and i can't feel any difference in performance over the stock collector box just makes a bit more noise, also the pipes are too loose where it slides on to the headers so I struggled to get them tight, not impressed, I also examined the stock crossover and there's nothing in it so it isn't a restriction anyway.
  3. Those bars were ok for comfort Hugh but the chrome didn't suit the bike and I was checking the bolts one day and one of the threads pulled out, so they got binned, these kits from the USA are just the job as the adjustability is endless, if you want the Convertibars the kit is unopened and brand new, dare I ask how your bike is running now?
  4. Steve Do you need to change any cable or hydraulic pipe lengths ? Thanks. Grae, all the stock pipes and cables can be used but I have replaced the brake pipe with a longer Goodridge one instead of rerouting the original. the clutch pipe reaches even on the highest setting.
  5. Just fitted these Apex bars from the US of A, nice quality and they have brought the bars closer and higher as needed, the tubes adjust in 8 positions for angle and they go up and down 4ins, the clamps can also be positioned anywhere around the fork tube either above the triple or below. At the same time I ordered a set of Convertibars that do the same thing, I think I am sticking with the Apex so if anyone wants to buy them in the UK give me a shout, there are no UK importers for either of these products. https://convertibars.3dcartstores.com/Moto-Guzzi_c_29.html http://www.apexmfg.com/products/category/view/11
  6. Yea done all that but when setting the TPS to .525v the idle is way too high even with the air screw closed. so the only way to bring it down is by backing out the left stop screw until the throttles are almost closed again.
  7. Thought I would check the throttle bodies for balance and reset the TPS on the Nero, after backing everything off and pulling off the linkage I reset the TPS to 150 mv refitted the linkage and made sure both throttles were fully shut, then opened up the throttles with the left screw so it would idle but could only get the idle down to 1k by having both air screws shut off and a small amount of the left screw, if I did it by the book and opened it up to 0.5v and the air screws open 1 turn it was much too fast, not a problem as it idles and runs fine with my settings but somethings not right.
  8. i have never managed it without removing the swingarm.
  9. It's under the starter Hugh. I have removed the side stand switch and wiring on both my bikes, remove the tank and follow the wires up to a connector, snip the wires and solder them together.
  10. Don't forget the tea and breakfast bap plus the racetrack also known as Wales
  11. Nice bike Denis, might see you at Abber one Sunday, give me a shout.
  12. Hello Stew, why can't you warm it up on the stand are you saying that the bike won't run in neutral? I assume the switch only earths the wire so have you tried pulling the wire off and earthing it then the light should come on confirming a faulty switch.
  13. What you talking about JJ? What's JJ ?
  14. One of the first things I do when I buy a V11 is cut the wires off the 30 amp fuse and solder them together, the fuse was getting hot and starting to melt, also I have replaced the TPS to rule it out.
  15. Thanks for all your input, sidestand switch is bypassed, but I agree it is likely to be an ignition problem, I can live with it for now and see if it gets worse.
  16. Yep done all that thanks. the bike runs fine at lower rpm.
  17. This is not a big problem but it would be nice to sort it, at 6k rpm I have a hesitation a bit like hitting the rev limiter, I can power through it but if I hold it at 6k in any gear it does it, I have refitted the stock exhausts and it still does it, the bike is standard, I don't spend much time at 6k rpm so I can live with it but I would like to fix it, has anyone had this?
  18. Thanks for that Rossi, mine is the Nero sandwiched between my mates Scura and 1100 Sport
  19. Just got back Andy, we rode in with hundreds of Italian bikes from Gordano services, a bit chilly but dry, plus a ride over the bridge into Wales on the way back, mucho exotica everywhere in the city centre, great day.
  20. Woodcraft riser clipons 54mm clamps and 64mm risers, fit the risers to the rear to bring the bars back, stock pipes do reach ok, drop the forks about 10mm as the new clamps are deeper than stock, this will only work on later bikes with the bars fitted on top of the triple. I also used the stock tubes and bar ends
  21. What is the 'pork chop'? Porkchops are the frame plates where your footpegs are located, (Spine speak)
  22. Just ordered a set of Woodcraft clipons from the USA, half the price of UK supplier, you will need 54mm clamps and they come with a choice of rise from 0" to 3".You will want to fit them under the top triple and the clamps are in two pieces so no need to dismantle the forks. My plan is to fit them, with 1.5" rise, above the top triple and turn them around so that the bars are nearer, not sure if this is going to work yet so I will report back. Also you may find someone who wants to go the other way and swap the top triple, clamps and bars.
  23. This used to happen on my last V11, an 02 Rosso Mandello, the lever would stick in the down position usually when coming to a halt, if I let out the clutch gently it would return up, never knew what caused it, as it only happened a few times it never bothered me.
  24. Dupli Color Metalcast MC200 anodised red, I used it without the base paint and masked out the pork loins as they are a pain to remove
  25. Thanks, got about 17k miles on it, the red was faded when I got it so I've repainted the valve covers, frame plates and belly pan with Dupli Color metalcast red, nice finish and heat proof, I would love to know how many Neros came to the UK, don't think it's many.
