Hello UK chaps, I have a new Ventura fitting kit that was special order from NZ and I never used it because the Nero came with another one, with grab rail cost about £150, yours for £100 but then you need the rack which is available easy.

I listed it on Ebay but got very little interest so have decided to keep it until I can find a replacement, I'm looking for a nice V11 Le Mans which I'm struggling to find at the moment in the UK

Ever wanted the high level exhaust but the £500 plus price of Mistrals put you off? Just rotate the cans upwards at the joint, junk the footpeg hangers and get inventive with a pair of shorter brackets, easy wish I had thought of this before buying the Mistrals, and sometimes I prefer to be quieter.

When the fuse holder gets loose or dirty it will not handle the current, this has happened on the bike I have now and a previous one, my solution is to cut the wires off under the fuse holder and solder them together, no more problems.

Just got back from a week in the Alps on the Rosso Mandello and have decided that I need a fairing, so I am in the market for a V11 Le Mans, a limited edition if possible, Sorted now thanks.

The selector spring would not cause this problem, the spring is either broken or it is'nt, mine is not broken as the box works fine most of the time but occasionally the lever will stick down the same as the thread starter.

It's the first time I have seen the sticking gear shift mentioned on here, mine sticks in the down position occasionally and the only way to release it is to let the clutch out a bit and it springs back up, it is not a broken selector spring cos it would be stuck in gear, we all know this, and it's not something simple like seized shifter mechanism or the lever fouling the side plate, it's not been enough of an issue for me to do anything about it but I would like to know what causes it.

RS Bike Paint in the UK have supplied me with some hard to find paints like the Tenni Pearl Green on the Griso SE and the Candy Red on the Rosso Mandello.

V11 LE MANS 2002 STARTING PROBLEM
Steve S replied to COOLER THAN A COOL THING's topic in Technical Topics
Hi Simon, had the same problems with cutting out and failing to start a couple of weeks ago, replaced all 5 relays and its been no problem since including a 5 day trip to Chimay, Belgium, here's a tip, I was quoted £12 each plus post for the relays but my local truck parts supply shop sold me the same Bosch relays for £3.20 each, they are fitted to many cars and trucks like Vauxhalls and Mercs -

I replaced the front brake pipes with Goodridge but the stock pipes will just reach, the clutch pipe is just long enough if rerouted, the wires are plenty long enough but the throttle cable only reaches behind the top yoke The high alloy pipes without baffles are £430 part No EXA30203 and the low alloy pipes are £420 part No EXA30803 Mine have road legal removable baffles and were £460 inc postage -

Mine came with the standard clipons but being an old git I converted to the Cafe Sport fatbars using Griso risers, just drilled a couple of holes in the top yoke, now its as comfy as a comfy thing, if you go for the high pipes you get a pair of short hangers with them and loose the pillion pegs, if you need the pegs go for the low ones and they are easy to fit 2 clamps and 2 bolts, I have kept the stock collector but if you fit a crossover its a bit more work. -

Hi Silverback, I have just sold a Griso SE and replaced it with a V11 Rosso Mandello a bit of a step backwards but I like the V11 handling and the old 2v engine sounds better than the 8v wining and rattling, I am keeping the airbox this time but have gone the K&N route before with other V11s, you can order the filters in the UK from Halfords just look at the K&N website and decide on the size you want with 50mm inlet take the part number and they will get them for you, I have just fitted a pair of Mistral high level silencers from Gutsibits, went with the alloy ones because I wanted round and the CF ones are more money, the alloy ones were £460 with removable baffles which I have put back in as its too loud for me without them. -
Fitted a pair of alloy high level Mistral silencers, the stock cans were just too quiet, these have removable baffles and they are a bit too loud without them for me, I wanted round stainless but they don't do them and the carbon was a bit too expensive, the short brackets came in the kit but needed repainting as they seem to have missed with the spray gun in Mandello, also the holes in the brackets were too big for the stock cap bolt heads so I used some M8 countersunk bolts which worked fine, these were made in Italy so i expected it to involve a bit of work.

I am guessing the bike has had an aftermarket exhaust fitted all its life and the stock system kept brand new and now refitted, its too clean to have covered 19k mikes, I have ordered a pair of Mistral high silencers the bike came to me with stock clipons and I have fitted Cafe Sport bars using Griso risers, I needed it to be more upright for some European tours this year

I just bought this RM off Ebay and got very little history with it, does anyone recognise the bike as it is quite distinctive with its carbon fibre effect bodywork?
-
Thanks, the tail, side covers, fairing, front and rear fenders have been coated in a carbon look finish, not sure when it was done but it's very nice, the bike is listed as an RM in the service book when it was new, it is a UK bike registered after the original 300 so it has no number on the side panels instead it has a Union Jack flag, the valve covers have been powder coated black probably because they turn pink, since I bought it I have fitted Cafe Sport bars with Griso risers and the Ventura luggage kit, I also have ordered a pair of Mistral high silencers to make it sound as it should.

Has anybody got a Ventura luggage kit for my V11 they are quoting weeks to wait for a new kit, just the L brackets would be a start, I am in the UK.
