Not sure if it's too late or this may not be the correct bit you need https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Moto-Guzzi-V11-LeMans-Right-Hand-Front-Fairing-Panel-Red-New-but-marked/263064578561?epid=7004390604&hash=item3d3fdeea01:g:uJcAAOSwDrNZVmqW

I think there's more chance of the stock spring to sit at an angle on the shaft than the new spring as the new spring is a closer fit having an extra coil, problem is I didn't notice the flat until I'd put the bike back together
-
I'm not knocking the new spring Chuck I hope they last forever but this wear could be a reason for failure on some bikes. Looking at your photo of the 3 coil spring the end coil seems to lie nice and flat against the ratchet arm so not rubbing at one point
-
I had a close look at the 2 springs that I have replaced this week and 1 of them has a definite flat worn on one side, has anyone noticed this? the one with the wear came out of a Cafe Sport that has had at least 3 breakages, the other spring shows no sign of wear marks, I've tried to get a pic of it, the wear is at the bottom of the coil

From the album: Nero Corsa UK

Yes, but not all selectors have this, some have a roll pin that realistically cant be removed. Ciao Never seen the roll pin is that on the early ones without the bracket? if so that's probably why I've not seen it, they don't seem to break their springs for some reason

Replaced the selector spring with the modified type today, this is a friend's Cafe Sport and I still have my Nero Corsa to do, just a couple of points, if you remove the slotted pin that regulates the arm travel you can leave the bottom selector wheel in place and lift the arm over it, also the countersunk slot screw that holds bracket had been removed too many times and the slot was damaged so I replaced it with a countersunk allen screw

Odometer stopped working - 2004 V11 Cafe Sport
Steve S replied to GuzziPet's topic in Technical Topics
The later models are electronic units so not an option, the earlier white face Veglia won't work either I tried it once and the cable drive in the early gearbox has a different ratio so the cable runs too fast- 29 replies

Odometer stopped working - 2004 V11 Cafe Sport

If the speedo is still working and the odo has stopped then the worm drive inside the unit has stripped, very common, and difficult to find a replacement ITI gauge these days- 29 replies

Why do you think the splines need so much grease? they don't need to move after the wheel is fitted so there's no wear caused, when I first remove a wheel from a V11 I'm usually finding they are over greased and I'm cleaning it off

Payment sent thanks, my address should come with Paypal let me know if it doesn't

Hi Scud can you give me a price for 5 springs to the UK
-
A friend is looking for a Le Mans, anyone selling in the UK?
-
I know from experience that selling a V11 in the UK is not easy, such a small market place, M&S motorcycles have had a Nero for sale for at least 2 years at £10k, I sold a Nero for £6k a while ago and just bought a better one for £3700, a friend just bought a Cafe Sport for £4k this is the real deal, the Scura is only worth that price to someone who really has to have one and then if it then gets used how it should be it will go down in value in the real world, the few V11s for sale in the UK at the moment are asking silly money but are not selling

Hi Stew I didn't know the answer to this so I went and dug out a spare one and with a bit of persuasion and wd40 the plastic bit pulls out of the rubber, used 2 screw drivers 1 each side
-
When the new spring is in production I would be happy to have a few here in the UK and offer a fitting service for the few V11 owners here
-
Time will tell as neither spring has been tested for long yet, maybe both springs will last forever
