It's a difficult choice, I grant you: time – or mashed potatoes? I can't decide which is more of a luxury but time must be more of a mystery – more people every day must ask, what time is it? than people who ask, what potatoe is that? however it's easier to identify the correct time (people can, for example, log into V.11 Lemans.com and check the handy forum clock) than it is to identify the precise potatoe (for instance, this forum gives no help at all, well, apart from a few pictures of the 1200s potatoe) so, something to ponder

Some strange comments. The fast idle does what it's supposed to do. My fast idle will take it all the way up to racing speed. Red line – as I remember. If you're only getting a minute little movement /difference in revs – that can't be right? I've always found that it starts ok even in cold weather. Wind the throttle a little, or set the fast idle, and fire it up. Docc's comment about bike stored inside and then started outside is interesting. Maybe that does cause some sensory confusion for the beast. Mine lives outside. There have been stark differences of opinion here as to whether the engine should be left to rev as a bit of a warm-up, or started and driven-off immediately. So there's no unanimous view.

That was my question as well. Why should filters be coming off? They're just not being put on right...???

As mentioned, the Quat-D exhaust is the one. Try a search in Tech Topics and maybe 24/7 for more info, or ask again here... I don't think that hugger, which partially covers the top area of the rear tyre, is a lot of use. It's just (perhaps)cosmetically better that the original plastic part. I would prefer one that covers right down to the swingarm level.
