Who hasn't got any
belfastguzzi replied to belfastguzzi's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Was it Helicopter Jim who was asking? Have you spotted a fundamental flaw in this thread? -
You need a Quat-D to make the feeling more complete. Although, taking everything off after the headers would be even better.

Ok. Looks like there's a case for starting a Forum that doesn't require time to be spent on making posts. I know – it could be called the Tenni Forum... -

So what do you want electricity for anyway? I run mine on petrol and that's that. Electricity is dangerous and should be kept in television sets.

I don't, for one.

What time is it?

Hmmm. So what sort of time does a Moto Guzzi warranty last for, relatively speaking? -
Hi Pete You may remember that I e-mailed to order a plate. If it works out, can you leave one with Keith for me? I'll sort Keith out with postage and your payment for the plate by Paypal when you are in a position to deal with it. All the best DB

Rainy GP – SUNNY AND FASTEST
belfastguzzi replied to belfastguzzi's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
More tragedy. One of Ulster's best-known road-racers, winner at UGP and former Irish Champion, Darran Lindsay was killed yesterday during practice for today's Killilane race in Co Dublin. Raymond Porter injured. -
Monty the python, that is. You saw this picture? swallowed a pregnant sheep

Can't find this crooner on the Freaky Emporium. I'm disconsolate.

You posted this query in 'Classifieds' and it can't be replied to there. Where are you? I would guess that other dealers must have springs in stock. Pretty sure that you'd get one from a UK supplier. Alternative springs have been listed, available from people who've made them in USA. Have you read the F.A.Q. thread on this topic? Lots of info and the spring supplers may be mentioned there, otherwise you'll need to do a search. Meantime you can re-bend the spring, if it broke at the hook end, to get you back on the road. The repaired spring is still quite serviceable. **The crucial thing is that you need to file down the boss that the spring coil sits on. The 2002 Scuras and other bikes around that time were fitted with a pawl arm that had an oversize boss. That is what is causing your spring to break and if you don't fix it, the spring will break again. The circular boss needs to be 15mm diameter. If you are ordering a new spring, you can order a new pawl arm that is the correct dimensions. There is more info in the the threads that can be referenced through the FAQ. As above, the stuff there shows how you can get back on the road until new parts (if you want them) can be sourced. String Driven Thing £8. Johnny & Edgar Winter £5. Freaky emporium. Not on any level? Not any level? ! But...that voice!? What time is that?

It's a bit hard to tell as I can only see the saddle, down tube, a little bit of crossbar and stays. But, yeah, I think there was one like that in the bikeshed at school, way back. Can you get it a bit more in the centre of the photo? P.S. what's that film you're watching with the Honda in it?

Ah ha. Great to see these photos as I had imagined that Paul must have an all-singing, all-dancing, fully kitted-out super shop. Just goes to show, it's not what you got – it's what you do with it.

Well it's almost a year on, JR: time to check-up on whether you ever got hold of the delightful Montana Song? It did turn-up on the USA iTunes store, though it can only be downloaded with the album. That's no bad thing though. It eventually made it to the UK store, though the other 2 albums that are on the US store aren't here. If you didn't like it last year, you might like it now: being older, wiser and bushier of moustache. http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore...&i=59388243

offroad harley's!
belfastguzzi replied to staedtler's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Looks like there was a picnic spot you could have pulled off at, just down the grass bank. Popular with Harley guys. Er... check out this Harley guys' quote on the web: "Harley Owners Group - No grass will grow under our wheels!" Whoops! -
Made me think of older Land Rover electromechanical devices (minute fraction of cost in comapison), which presumably aren't appropriate at all, and then I started looking around. Some of these links may provide interesting reading in a general way – and perhaps someone who knows about such things would care to point out what may be relevant to the 'modern' Guzzi application? Note that Harpers describe the Ducati brand part as 'famously weak'. Yes, it's the oil that does the main work in all these type of fliters, whatever the make or shape. When it's dirty, then the old oil needs to be cleaned out and fresh oil applied.

Well yes, but just because I was moaning doesn't mean that there isn't some high-class garage space out there in Europe. Paul omitted to show his inner sanctum workshop when he posted above. In there, he makes sweet music with his Guzzi, as you can see. I mean, mass produced posters of old MG line-ups are one thing, but lavishing 'real art' on your Guzzi ––– well, that's the European sensibility.
