It's a bit hard to tell as I can only see the saddle, down tube, a little bit of crossbar and stays. But, yeah, I think there was one like that in the bikeshed at school, way back. Can you get it a bit more in the centre of the photo? P.S. what's that film you're watching with the Honda in it?
-
Ah ha. Great to see these photos as I had imagined that Paul must have an all-singing, all-dancing, fully kitted-out super shop. Just goes to show, it's not what you got – it's what you do with it.

Well it's almost a year on, JR: time to check-up on whether you ever got hold of the delightful Montana Song? It did turn-up on the USA iTunes store, though it can only be downloaded with the album. That's no bad thing though. It eventually made it to the UK store, though the other 2 albums that are on the US store aren't here. If you didn't like it last year, you might like it now: being older, wiser and bushier of moustache. http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore...&i=59388243

offroad harley's!
belfastguzzi replied to staedtler's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Looks like there was a picnic spot you could have pulled off at, just down the grass bank. Popular with Harley guys. Er... check out this Harley guys' quote on the web: "Harley Owners Group - No grass will grow under our wheels!" Whoops! -
Made me think of older Land Rover electromechanical devices (minute fraction of cost in comapison), which presumably aren't appropriate at all, and then I started looking around. Some of these links may provide interesting reading in a general way – and perhaps someone who knows about such things would care to point out what may be relevant to the 'modern' Guzzi application? Note that Harpers describe the Ducati brand part as 'famously weak'. Yes, it's the oil that does the main work in all these type of fliters, whatever the make or shape. When it's dirty, then the old oil needs to be cleaned out and fresh oil applied.

Well yes, but just because I was moaning doesn't mean that there isn't some high-class garage space out there in Europe. Paul omitted to show his inner sanctum workshop when he posted above. In there, he makes sweet music with his Guzzi, as you can see. I mean, mass produced posters of old MG line-ups are one thing, but lavishing 'real art' on your Guzzi ––– well, that's the European sensibility.

There was some discussion of this before when I posted about excessive mayo. JRT gave some more info then, so I'll look for the thread. I thought that you had contributed to it too – it seems not?? estremità approssimativa di un ananas Edit try here: some fellow called BigJ talks about a one way valve. I thought the JRT PCV talk was here, but it's not. I'll look elsewhere. Edit 2: Dunno. Not there. I must have been dreaming. I dream about JRT a lot. In fact, in this other thread Ropey talks aboutPCV stuff, so it must have been him. BTW there are photos of the much-talked-about-recently dipstick dangle angle in that thread. And more talk of the oil light flashing on. Mine came on again a couple of days ago and stayed on for quite a long time – a few seconds: not good. I wasn't accelerating.

Is it anything like this?

Wow. And that stuff on the walls, is that 'aluminum siding' like we hear about in the movies? Todd's workshop is nice and airy, but why are the cars all so small?

We saw your special pointy hat wot keeps your brains warm This is your best angle though I like your Moto Guzzi wrist watch. Is that one of the ones that they keep advertising on ebay? I never realised that they're quite so big. Perhaps that's why you fell over? -
What is that?! and how do I get one What sort of site is that, if I may be so bold? Is it really a house site? Montana

I was going to say that if there is one thing that makes me envious, in so many of the photos that the Americans post, it is the grand spaciousness of their garages. They often look like second houses, for motorbikes and cars. – And then what does Staedler do? He goes and posts a picture of his garage and it looks just like a whole house! Brilliant. Living in a big country certainly has a bundle of advantages. I've always dreamt of being able to buy the house next door, just to turn it into a garage and workshops. Of course, you hardly dare have a garage over here these days. Rates are being based on house value (including size, view etc) and so anything that you do to improve the value of your property means that you have to pay more rates. And there is no cap on the amount payable. I can just about shove one bike in the garage/shed and lean it over to work on it. Sorry, no help on the organisational front here either. 'Pile it high' is my motto.

And still that voice came from beyond, "Whatever you do, Don't pay the fairyman, Don't even fix a price, Don't pay the fairyman, Until he gets you to the other side; Yes, although I always pictured Cally Macbrayne as more of a grumpy elf. Nidhogg is quite an odd fairy name. Belfastguzzi translates to the fairy name: Field Elfdancer a cheerful sprite who lives in fields where wild flowers and poppies grow. Only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup. Likes to wear red petals in skirt. Has delicate green wings like a cicada. Mike Wilson's fairy name is Columbine Iceshimmer – a bone chilling bringer of justice for the vulnerable. Lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows. Only seen when the first flowers begin to blossom. Wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. Has icy blue butterfly wings. Admin Jaap is Gossamer Demonglimmer a wicked and mischievous child. Lives in spiderwebbed wonderlands and insect grottos. Only seen when the sun sets on the day of a completed harvest. Wears tiny black spiders on dresses. Has red wings like a brightly coloured butterfly. Well, no surprise there, as we know Jaap lives in a web-wonderland of moth grottos. And the other stuff. Road Geez is Fire Rainbowdancer a fortune bringer who lives where fireflies mate and breed. Only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup. Wot a lot of questions. It's nice to see a chap taking an interest. Indeed. Anything that cultivates balance is to be applauded. Try Nogbad. He's just up above there. Handles like a see-saw. Disconcerting at first, but a unique experience. Balance is fair to good once sag is correctly adjusted and painted. You get a good few yards to a puff of steam. Depends how stoney the ground is.
