    hehehe that's the spirit
  2. Give 'em a blast with your horn. That'll make the dozy critters shift out of your way.
  3. My sag is quite good too. I had it repainted and it looks splendid.
  4. Some off-street parking but need to arrange in advance, if I remember right.
  5. My brake fluid is good, calipers / pistons well maintained and rotor in good condition.
  6. I see from a previous post that new EBC front pads that I fitted were the same thickness, new, as OE Brembos with 6,000 miles on them (4mm). Apparently Ferodo Platinums are 6mm, so maybe Brembos are 6mm when new too. From previous post, Guzzirider is getting 3,000 miles on rear pads, but they are thinner Carbon Lorraine EBCs. 10,000 miles for front?
  7. It has sometimes been commented on here, that US V.11s often seem to be ridden in very different conditions and on very different types of roads and perhaps in different styles to British / Irish road & riding conditions. I'd guess that a lot of people in UK are getting about 6,000m on OE pads. Though, some people have claimed that they never use their rear brakes. Martin Barrett's rule of thumb is a new set of brake pads needed at every tyre change. So: 5 - 6,000 miles? Seems about right.
  8. 5,600 miles before OEM totally worn away. Replaced with EBC FA47, about £12
  9. When in England with family, we use stay in Travelodge. You could try that?? Us & children in room. http://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hotel/r...Dublin&id=28313
  10. I've stayed at the Townhouse a few times, but with a deal on the price. You could try contacting them and asking if they can do it any cheaper as it's been recommended. There are loads of other (and cheaper) places in Gardiner Street. Car parking could be an issue. Ask if they can give you a parking space. Dublin has been notorious for car crime. Not sure what exactly that's like now. Some sites: http://www.townhouseofdublin.com/ http://www.hostels.com/en/ie.le.du.html http://www.travellerspoint.com/hostels-en-ci-372.html http://www.hoteldirect.co.uk/dublin/ http://www.hoteldirect.co.uk/webapp/hoteld...in&currency=gbp Someone else may be able to recommend cheaper accommodation, maybe B&B, outside the City.

handy – you could call around & borrow the beastie to finish whizzing Round Britain in short time.

Yes, I was thinking that, but it's the long daytime time of year. Erin is in Erin, which is west of Welsh England and East of Amerikay. Carry a tent on yourself, buy a micro-tent off John O'Sullivan, or, as more befits the owner of such a machine (with two sets of wheels, what's more) stay in the finest establishment that the Euro can purchase. Or you could get Martin Barrett to carry your tent and kit over for you. He would probably come over with his own gear, set-up camp and then go back for your gear. All before supper.

Funny coincidence, Bun posting this, as when we were in Scotland at the weekend I had been thinking that it would have been great if the sleeked beastie had been brought to the Spean Bridge meet. Guzzbun, we need to see & hear it on the roads. Erin?
  14. OK Baldini I'm slightly worried about posting this in case the weather is bad and it's a washout, but really, you know that you've got to do 'the right thing'. Stop prevaricating and get your ticket booked. The Scottish trip has put me in the mood for a rip round the Beara peninsula and over the Healy Pass. You need to get that Scura in the mix.
  15. There are a few more pics of the scenery here. It's difficult to do justice to the overall experience though. Can't keep stopping to take photos.
  16. Yep. Dyno graphs, hp here, torque there...pah! Put your bike on a Scottish single track with turns, dips, rises, gravel and sheep – and see how it goes. Both bikes seemed to run ok to me and I sure enjoyed the sound (different sounds) that both made while they were doing it.
  17. Thanks to Chris for making it possible. Guy – excellent choice of route for Saturday. Scenery everywhere was, of course, magnificent. In terms of bike riding, I really enjoyed the 'Mint Sauce' section from Applecross. That wee burst was the highlight of the weekend. Martin – the suggested route back for Sunday was great. Again, superb mountain, sea, island views. The road south from Oban had a brilliant succession of interesting and nadgery bends and hills with a good road surface and the sun shone. Overall, the road surfaces were much better than I expected / remembered, but I suppose it's about 25 years since I rode around there before. As I said, thanks for the reason to get over again. Now it's time to pester Baldini about coming over for the Erin.
  18. Map and directions now available. Here
  19. Oh dear. Oh deary me. It's just too tempting to reply... tooo tempting... but I'll not.
  20. right enough I was thinking of a plug & compressed air
  21. Does anyone carry a puncture repair / tyre inflation kit for a journey in the wild highlands? I've never used one and won't have time to get one for this trip, but I guess it's a good contingency?
  22. Is it? Same one? If so, check here Ystradgynlais Jon –> UK rally pics and there are a few pages of Erin pics. Ah, the sunshine.
  23. I've bought a boat ticket.
  24. See here. He has had bad fortune. Not tragic, but sad news.
  25. forecasts are showing rain, rain and rain big waterproofs?
