handy – you could call around & borrow the beastie to finish whizzing Round Britain in short time.

Yes, I was thinking that, but it's the long daytime time of year. Erin is in Erin, which is west of Welsh England and East of Amerikay. Carry a tent on yourself, buy a micro-tent off John O'Sullivan, or, as more befits the owner of such a machine (with two sets of wheels, what's more) stay in the finest establishment that the Euro can purchase. Or you could get Martin Barrett to carry your tent and kit over for you. He would probably come over with his own gear, set-up camp and then go back for your gear. All before supper.

Funny coincidence, Bun posting this, as when we were in Scotland at the weekend I had been thinking that it would have been great if the sleeked beastie had been brought to the Spean Bridge meet. Guzzbun, we need to see & hear it on the roads. Erin?
  4. OK Baldini I'm slightly worried about posting this in case the weather is bad and it's a washout, but really, you know that you've got to do 'the right thing'. Stop prevaricating and get your ticket booked. The Scottish trip has put me in the mood for a rip round the Beara peninsula and over the Healy Pass. You need to get that Scura in the mix.
  5. There are a few more pics of the scenery here. It's difficult to do justice to the overall experience though. Can't keep stopping to take photos.
  6. Yep. Dyno graphs, hp here, torque there...pah! Put your bike on a Scottish single track with turns, dips, rises, gravel and sheep – and see how it goes. Both bikes seemed to run ok to me and I sure enjoyed the sound (different sounds) that both made while they were doing it.
  7. Thanks to Chris for making it possible. Guy – excellent choice of route for Saturday. Scenery everywhere was, of course, magnificent. In terms of bike riding, I really enjoyed the 'Mint Sauce' section from Applecross. That wee burst was the highlight of the weekend. Martin – the suggested route back for Sunday was great. Again, superb mountain, sea, island views. The road south from Oban had a brilliant succession of interesting and nadgery bends and hills with a good road surface and the sun shone. Overall, the road surfaces were much better than I expected / remembered, but I suppose it's about 25 years since I rode around there before. As I said, thanks for the reason to get over again. Now it's time to pester Baldini about coming over for the Erin.
  8. Map and directions now available. Here
  9. Oh dear. Oh deary me. It's just too tempting to reply... tooo tempting... but I'll not.
  10. right enough I was thinking of a plug & compressed air
  11. Does anyone carry a puncture repair / tyre inflation kit for a journey in the wild highlands? I've never used one and won't have time to get one for this trip, but I guess it's a good contingency?
  12. Is it? Same one? If so, check here Ystradgynlais Jon –> UK rally pics and there are a few pages of Erin pics. Ah, the sunshine.
  13. I've bought a boat ticket.
  14. See here. He has had bad fortune. Not tragic, but sad news.
  15. forecasts are showing rain, rain and rain big waterproofs?
  16. I've enquired at a couple of different sites about course map and directions – and have now received a reply from Bush. He's going to put a map and directions on the site this week. Hooray. Bush road map announced.
  17. Suddenly remembered – it's on NOW
  18. A timely post. You were right, Martin. Jaap toyed with the '..absurd...' strapline on the forum a while back. To be safe, I'm going to sellotape a new sensible strapline on to mine: 'V11.think BMW'
  19. good pic of young William Dunlop
  20. Yes Dungannon. I've e-mailed to ask. It's bizzare – they have a website and sponsors and this and that – but don't say where the race is! It's fairly essential information Heard a few minutes of NW on radio this afternoon. They said it was the best in living memory. Oh well. I'll just have to wait for the highlights on t.v. Steve Plater won the big bikes. Robert Dunlop got an emotional success in the 125
  21. Martin? I wouldn't like to say. Reserve judgement until I post some photos.
  22. Hmmm sort of – see 'Cookstown' thread
  23. This is driving me nuts. I woke up to the sound of a constant stream of bikes heading north on the main road outside. On the way to work, bikes were coming from all directions. In work, again there's the continuing scream of multis heading up the carriageway. And I'm in the yard, trying to fit a dragon's tail into the back of a van. McGuinness squeaked through to pole yesterday. Big Mac, Rutter, Anstey?
  24. Guzzirider – don't go to any Dutch comedy shows
