  1. hmmm do you think that old fashioned volts work better than amps?
  2. yes, I think I've seen bags of that at the garage. Looks quite lumpy – probably Chinese electricity.
  3. He's my hero because he races in his 'Sunday best'.
  4. 24th June is the new Bush road race. Remember the thread? I guess if you go to Ireland you're thinking of the South, but if you're up North...
  5. What's the best sort of electricity to use in a Moto Guzzi anyway?
  6. See that, Frenchbob – even JR thinks that your petcock should be removed and put some dialectric in your accessible molex while you're at it
  7. well...it's various things – like how it's used, under what conditions and I would say that time has something to do with oil changes too. There's not just virgin oil in the oil. There's metal, muck, maybe water (depending upon which oil it is). I'd prefer to tip that out every now and again. Given what came out with the fork oil, I'd change it more often rather than less often – for the sake of a few pounds, well, £20 or £30 pounds or whatever that Ohlins stuff was.
  8. Hairyone, are you playing with electricity again? I hope that you are wearing your plastic flip-flops.
  9. Why is a V.11 called an 1100? The early races seem to have been more than 80 miles long... There is some decent video here. Streaming took a while to start, but it's not bad once it gets going. I watched the Victore Gilmore Cookstown 100 pt 5. Edit: Part 1 is pretty good too, start of race and full circuit. Now what? Part 2 perhaps?
  10. 40,000!!!!? Has the first change ever been done? It's meant to be at 1,000 miles as far as I remember. So if not, change now. Oil will have bits of metal in it at this stage.
  11. And you – are you related to the whisperingness of Whispering Bob Harris, by any chance? If not, it's a strange coincidence that you both share the same name. Very strange indeed. Are you related to Dawn Frenchbob?? + = Frenchbob mama dada baba
  12. How wide was that road – about 6 inches? Not enough room to swing a Quat.
  13. I Love You (Me Either) It's on iTunes store now. Be there or be square.
  14. I would tenderise the fellow with a large mallet
  15. Hi Guy there's only one Troon crossing – at 0715. If I get it, I guess I'll be at Erskine Bridge around about the time that you're leaving home, 10.30. That'll give me some time for looking at nice mountainy stuff and haggis hunting on the way north. Depending on success with the haggis, or otherwise, you may catch up somewhere. We can exchange routes and phone numbers so that I can call you if I think you might be in the vicinity. Mind you, I still have to book...
  16. The spacer in rear wheel, between bearings, could be too short. Seems to have been a common 2002 problem. You could at least check the rear wheel bearings (or get mechanic to check them) to see it there is too much wear – a sign of the spacer being too short.
  17. Guy, Martin and others with facilities... Highlights of the first road race of the season are on BBC1 NI tonight at 11.15pm. For Nogbad, 'The Pedant's Revolt' is on BBC4 at 9pm Guy Martin
  18. Fill large pot with water Large pot on stove Bring to boil Give fowl swim Salt & pepper to taste
  19. No. It is a Little Bittern.
  20. No thanks. I'll stick with chicken. The ardetta is a little bitter.
  21. check out the details above – the yanks were obviously hungry for that stuff. Talking about hungry, colibri is another name for that tasty vegetable, broccoli, isn't it? Hey hairy, is that bike a Calabrese by any chance?
  22. Serge isn't a character. He is a chainsmoker & enfant terrible of the french chanson. What picture? This one? I'm not convinced there's a woman there at all. One is Serge the enfant terrible, behind him is Serge the Cockerel. The other one? Could be Frenchbob. Oh I get it. You mean Frenchbob is a woman?
  23. Do you already have the 'wardrobe' to match? Be careful as this could end up being expensive. Have you any idea how much material is in a pair of flares? Or loons, as they were in my day.
