  1. Is that the Royal 'We' that you're using now? BTW it's not a pigeon, it's a puffin.
  2. I don't think that's what Britches is refering to, Pete. I think he means the gearbox breather that is in the vicinity of the crossover box and he's wondering if oil is escaping from it, onto the box. I very much doubt that it is coming from there (oil isn't likely to come out there, not constantly anyway, but moisture will go in).
  3. Hmmmmmm.........I can see there's potential in this new theme...................
  4. Must have been an over-sight at the factory, but don't worry, you can claim some on warranty. Failing that, try e-Bay.
  5. There is no doubt that the clutch was indeed exceptionally clattery. Can you remind us, John, if it was always so noisey – from new? The amount of noise must have been the symptom of something Are there any other reports of exceptional or increasing noise from the other clutches that have exploded? It will be interesting to see how the new unit sounds. I am reluctant to consider changing the clutch *just-in-case*, as the cost of a new one is so outrageous (I consider it so anyway): £500 or more for a single plate clutch – is that right?
  6. For me, I'm not terribly concerned about it. It happens all the time. Some people have found a couple of different sources and been able to remedy or attempt remedy, but if it's just your 'common or garden' leak on to the crossover box then it is probably like a lot of other leaks – it looks worse than it actually is. Mine does it, but doesn't lose any significant amount of oil over time. I don't mind the smell. The more interesting thing about the vent is that it draws in moisture to contaminate the fluid. Like others. I have put a hose on so that it breathes from under the seat, rather than right where the tyre throws water at it. Might help a bit?
  7. Remember Tenni Pole Tudor? Seems they're resurrected and playing at Badfest! – that can't be good
  8. I knew what you really wanted to say.
  9. How/why did you hit a roundabout head on in France?
  10. I'm thinking of throwing mine into the T€%^* Forum. Same thing I suppose.

  14. At least it started in Modern Times. You guys in Nevada are still living in the 1630s, huh? I hope that's A.D.
  15. It's even spreading blackness to the ground beneath it. Fantastic.
  16. and machines can get pretty horrible when corporations reckon they have made their 'product' fully complete. Not that I'm saying a Gold Wing is horrible...
  17. So it's a bit like being a Bueller? What's a Harleyquin?
  18. That's Lesson One. Easy. Definitions Lesson One incomplete = character

  21. I thought Guzzism was meant to be all about individuality – but you want to be like all the rest. Harrumph.
  22. basically, he means that he wants one
  23. If I remember: aren't they plastic? Had the damaged drive housing worked loose and is that how the gears got damaged? edit: just remembered this – some of the bits Have you checked the similar mech. at the other (clock) end of the cable – that it is tight and in good order?
  24. Have you tried simply tightening it? You could undo it and check the condition of the O rings, clean things up and put it back together, making sure it's tight. Cant see you needing a new oil line for a leak from down there. EDIT you mention the hydraulic shop did they take the line off to look at it? Presumably they have O rings (you say they have the parts for the bottom joint) – did they not suggest fitting new ones?
  25. As long as it will run one of these
