Oh aye. Same sort of thing. Examine the sky in 'San Francisco in Jell-O Bay Bridge - C-Print, 12"x24" ' and you will clearly see that she has been influenced by my 'crossover effect' PS Your 'link' is a true work of art. PPS Can't find a video. Searched through her assets and there doesn't appear to be any video content. PPPS **Did you mean: "Be sure to play the viderenonlicet"? videlicet |v??del??set; -s?t; -?d?l??ket| adverb more formal term for viz. ORIGIN Latin, from videre ‘to see’ + licet ‘it is permissible.’ PPPPS vidiot |?vid??t| noun informal a habitual, undiscriminating watcher of television or videotapes. ORIGIN 1960s: blend of video and idiot .

DIScolouration! That's ART.

The crossover makes a big difference. I've posted the sounds before, try here, pref. with headphones: exhaust sound I've added an mp3 file to download if you don't have QuickTime Player. Stock crossover is very soft in comparison.

These are from the Erin Rally photos: link to more in Travel, Meetings I think. Baldini's bike with bands in standard position You can see the extra bracket that I added. Band is further back

Part of the discussion before was about wobble because the new set-up places the clamps close to the front end of the cans. I added spacers to both set the cans in a better lateral position relative to the bike and to move the clamps back – giving better support. Everything is pretty tight and there is no great amount of wobble.

American roadtrip photos are always (nearly always) fantastic. What a tremendous landscape. With sunshine too!

Agree I phoned about one a couple of days ago. The green Sport with white stripes. One of the better lookers. Same as J.O'S's, I think. I was too late. The one I tried for was gone. No he's not That's more like the fact of it. I've got some photos. I'm sure you know where to find them. A funny story: I asked John what year his was. Anything that I have read says that the Sport was launched in 1998. The one I saw was advertised as 1997. John's is apparently recorded as a 1997, but it says 1996 on the headstock (and they weren't launched until 1998!) especially It's not surprising the springs are all mixed up

Right – you were only talking about the extension, rather than the deep V.
-
Yep. That's what I said – see the little asterisk thing. You call yourself Tiny, for some reason.

As there is now a wider coil spring, apparently, the explanation could be that newer bikes now come with a 16mm boss and a bigger spring coil. The bulletin that Baldini posted had specific range numbers. Maybe bikes after that should be 16mm? Why that should be – who knows ? Could be a case of remedying a mistake by making it the norm, instead of going back to original spec. Anyway, it's mostly around 2002 that the problems occured, wasn't it? There's a date list / poll somewhere. If anyone with a newer model (2004/05?) is checking their's, best to be aware of the possibility that 16mm might be the correct size. Only way to know would be to physically check the operation of the two parts together.

only thing is – it's clearly a leprechaun probably get more sense out of one of those fellers, mind

No, but I did find this: "d: 14/03/2005 at 12:28pm | IP Logged Hi *Tiny, I need to find the thread details to put a sandwich plate in between the Suzuki filter and the engine." I mean, honestly! I know someone recently bought a Guzzi with a minature lunch box cable-tied to their bottom frame, but if Suzuki guys are stuffing plates of sandwiches into the oil system... Actually, it just strikes me, there might be method in their madness. They must use the sandwiches to plug the holes in their oil filters! See. Proof. The things are being holed all over the place. PS, is *that your name on the Suzi Forum?

So the white bit underneath is the new external filter? Well, well. "Numerous improvements have been made to the valves too. The seats are now sintered to ensure a constant tappet gap and the latest generation stainless steel exhaust valves are fitted for improved temperature resistance, reduced wear and extended life. Greater reliability. The crankcase, oil strainer and sump have all been redesigned to improve lubrication efficiency. The new configuration guarantees regular oil delivery under all conditions, especially during fierce braking and acceleration. Maintenance is easier too, because the oil filter is now external and instantly accessible."

I'm pretty sure sure it's 14 on the V.11 – so it's an even speedier pit stop. I'm pretty sure sure Paul has (at least) one and other serious tinkerers have them too. I'm pretty sure that all the pics I've seen have the filter at the front. That's why I commented on the possiblilty of it getting holed. It must be right in the line of fire from the front tyre. Imagine the damage that a freshly culled cat could do! I'm pretty sure that if any feline nuisance is going to sit where the filter would sit, it'll be one of those siamese critters. It's probably attracted by the Pong Box. Kippers?

Back to motor vehicular matters

Did you turn it up LOUD?
-
What do you mean? Is the filter now mounted externally, but in a recessed area?

Well, I have a soft spot for an old Honda XL250. I had some fabtastic camping trips on it. It took me through the Scottish highlands and islands, the English Lake District and the Welsh mountains – sometimes two-up and always with camping gear. I relate that, because it gave tremendous times even though it was only an old seventies 250 single. So when it comes to the Guzzi 1100 twin, why shouldn't such a machine be 200% capable of giving great times too? Comparing it to Japanese sports machines may cause disappointment. It may even seem like a 'has-been' compared to a new Breva or Griso. Dwelling on oil leaks and suspension settings, fretting over tyre treads, gnashing teeth on crashing gearboxs: all valid and 'interesting' things to do, but thankfully they're not ultimately the measure of 'the great motorbike experience'.

Did you see on your radio news – all the old Wallace & Gromit archive has gone up in flames. Still burning four days on Melted plasticene boo hoo But hey, what about that motorbike sound? Did you listen to it?
