  2. I see this is being re-shown on BBC2 on Sunday nights, so presumably it's available to the rest of the Great British United Kingdoms. Tonight was part 2. I think parts 1 & 2 were probably the most interesting but it's still worth catching the next two programmes – and next week has the first on-bike film-camera race action. Also for satellite watchers, the recent Ulster Grand Prix, Europe's fastest road circuit, is on BBC1 NI on Monday night (Digital Channel 943). Edit –––––––>That's now TONIGHT folks.
  3. As we know, possums, the old designs are hard to improve upon. Often they were actually more advanced than the jappocrappa 'puter-designed plastikified namby-pampy good for 6 months then trash it gear that today's fashion victims are suckered into purchasing. Take my granda's old helmet – I still use it every day and it's as fit for purpose as the day it was hammered into existence. IN FACT: it's even more useful today than it was way back then, what with modern traffic conditions. With the nifty side windows, I can actually look out to the righty or the lefty as I'm filtering through the traffic lanes and see exactly what space I've got, or indeed have a chat with neighbouring drivers. Why has modern head gear neglected these features – and sacrificed both safety and sociability to tunnel vision need-for-speed modernity? If it was good enough for Ned Kelly, it's good enough for me – as my oul granny always said. Granny's dirt-track boots. Nice. Pity they're too small for me. yours, Protected Pete
  4. I don't think that he can drive cars either. He doesn't seem to have much control or understanding. He's no Tiff Neddell. He's not funny, he's not interesting, he's just.... groan... I'm off to sign the petition. Oh yeah, and as for his expensive supercars, it wouldn't be hard to be faster than his brand new GT40 that doesn't seem to get out of the garage as he doesn't appear to be able to to work it, fix it, get it on the road, ah – I just Googled and apparently he's given the Ford back and gotten his money refunded. What a berk!
  5. The factory told you to drive off a dyke?
  6. Since he started making that bike hairy seatcover.
  7. That's Baldini you fool
  8. Hey Bill, my neighbour's got these great big trees.... I'm fed up. Can you give me some tips?
  9. Hmm.. exotic, aspirational – and beyond my reach. Would margerine do?
  10. I could lend you a piece of string though I don't know how long it is someone out there must know then we'd really be getting somewhere
  11. bit pricey for a bread roll I was quoted about £16 but then, it's a real classy part
  12. You'll be looking at this guy: Ferg
  13. A 'search' on eraldo in 24/7 and Tech T will show some previous refs/discussion. Moto-Euro would probably bring up more.
  14. In that picture, is Chris trying one of Martin's eyes in for size? (It's too big.) freaky
  15. I think I could eat a seal, but I'd have to be real hungry to swallow all that other stuff. I'll go with your order though. Gaskets might just be possible.
  16. The rear wheel spacer would be one?
  17. What about trying at a bearing factor? The newer(?) seal with the ribbed side might be specially made(?), but you could probably get the smooth sided version, as was originally fitted. Otherwise, you might be able to get it mail order yourself, quicker than waiting for the dealer to get it.
  18. You've asked that here before – and you were ignored then too. Why keep coming back for more?
  19. That's all very well, but what does the wood parquet weigh?
  20. Well, might as well use it if you've got some. But if there's none handy, don't bother. Same principle when it comes to giving the tyres a lick of shoe polish.
  21. Yeah I think it does. Hope that was useful. And here's a photo of two useful blocks mounted:
  22. Blimey. I thought that the fender extender threads were really interesting, until I read this one. Anyone know what's the best sort of oil to use in a motorbike? Where's the best place to put it and how long does it last?
  23. There have been plenty of posts on this problem, including a recent thread (about a month ago?). Your gasket survived a surprisingly long time. Like Al's, mine went after a few hundred miles (black painted 2002 model) and started putting out a lot of oil. If you don't want to, you don't have to remove anything at all to make a permanent fix. Clean the area and put silicone over the leaking area. A perfectly good and un-noticable fix. Search for other threads that give more details and photos.
  24. Oh yummy yum The place names that pop up in posts, not least from the northern areas of the American continent, are so tasty, so very evocative. A list of such names would be an even better thread than the 'Pictures of yer V.11' list. Now, just whisper, Bay of Fundy................
  25. Most dealers in UK seem to keep it in stock, so it was overnight post. I made the mistake of ordering through a local shop (see related post from a few weeks ago, probably in 'Dealers' forum). I should have ordered direct from Motomecca or similar. I've looked up the other post, here. The seal is probably quite low cost, though I paid nearly £13 for it. When I got the new seal I took it to a bearing factor to get a part number for future reference. He couldn't get this particular seal as it has a ribbed outer side. The part that he had listed has a smooth side. I think he said that he didn't see why it would need the ribs. When I took the old seal out, it had a smooth side anyway – so it would be worth checking at a local bearing factor – if you've got the time to keep the bike off the road while you take the seal out and check this.
