  2. From the various balance pipe problems, it sounds like you could do with springs to keep it all together, like slip-on exhaust cans?
  3. cheers Martin! I enjoyed that.
  4. You mean you haven't heard of 'The Great Mistral Crossover Disaster'? Believe me Ben, you don't want to know.
  5. If I had been more awake, that's what I would have done – only shortened the left, instead of both sides, and got more twist into the x-over installation. I've a feeling that I'll revisit this some time. Maybe tomorrow I'l post some pictures that I took of how it all lined-up. I only had a short test run last week and haven't had time to do any more with it it since, but I still think that it's pretty loud out on the road. The 'half lidless' air box adds a bit to the noise too. What can I cut-up next? Enjoy
  6. And of course the right can, while aligned with the left, ends up a lot futher out from the bike than the left does. I don't think that there's a perfect answer.
  7. Yes definitely. That's what I meant about it beiong a pity that Guzzi don't make handed pipes. There's not much that we can do about bending that stuff, (I don't think?). Get the hacksaw out
  8. er., maybe I am the Lord Mayor.
  9. Driving past the docks today I saw/heard loads of bikes coming off the ferry, heading up to the North West. And I can't go There were a couple of bikes pulling trailers and also a shiney BMW tourer – on a trailer, behind a big luxury camper van.
  10. Up close and personal
  11. It's that guy who drops off the side of skyscrapers, isn't it?
  12. uh yeh.. I do worry what effect this sort of thing has on impressionable minds. I'm considering saving my tape for Celebrity Love Island, whatever that is.
  13. That's a sizeable jaunt. Getting warmed up for your trip to the '40 shades of green'? How many miles do you reckon that will involve?
  14. It would be a miracle
  15. No I can't! Working all day on Belfast's Lord Mayor's Parade!! The council brought it forwards by a week!!! Don't start me!!!! And it looks like they've got the best line-up for years with a lot of interest from GB riders. What about this? – Police are using this as an opportunity to crack-down-on / educate bikers, so a local radio station is holding a text poll, "should speed limits on the roads be lower for motorcyclists?" !!!!!
  16. There's a programme on each night 'til the weekend's big race. I'll see if I can get them taped.

    NW 200

Did you turn over to UTV, if you can get it? Good programme on "one of the most spectacular races in the world", 11.30 - 12.00. Enjoy the scenery at 200mph
  18. NW 200 programme is on UTV at 11.30 – it should be good. I was repairing my broken spring last year while listening on the radio to 200 mph being broken on the country roads.
  19. 11.05 – time for a programme on the Tandragee 100 and then one on doing the NW 200 so go tweak your BBC NI arial, BJ
  20. There are many planets. Why limit your horizons in this way?
  21. Are you talking to Dan Gallapoo, Dayton, Ohio? I don't think that he actually visits this place. Tucker probably told him not to chance it.
  22. baked for big boss's birthday bash
  23. I've just got the bke together again, with new (slightly shortened!) Stucchi and the MG Ti cans. The sound is a LOT different and I consider it quite loud. I thought people were saying that the MG Ti cans weren't really much louder than stock? I guess they're not so loud with the stock x-over, but with the big open Stucchi (and half-lidless airbox K&N) the sound really thumps. BTW I have the silencer straps 4 inches along the can and the set-up is quite solid like that, not wobbly as was reported a short while ago. I guess the wobbly silencers have the bands fitted closer to the front of the cans?
  24. No gasket glue. You could give it a thin wipe of oil if you want to put something on it. Put copper anti-sieze on the bolts when putting them back (some others use loctite) – this will probably mess-up torque wrench accuracy anyway. Just do it by feel with an allen key, or do it carefully, with feel, if using a long-handled ratchet.
