  1. 0 days to go today is Ulster 2, Guzzi meet! Better get there, bye
  2. Has anyone seen/met up with Jaap, Ant & Jens on their way through the British Empire?
  3. Re enquiries about what is happening when. Saturday is most likely to be short rides around some of the North Coast attractions and sights – Giant's Causeway, Carrick a Rede ropeway, Torr Head, Bushmills Distillery, Downhill – The Portrush Raft Race will be on, so it would be sensible to avoid that popular seaside resort. I didn't book Distillery as bookings can only be made for the mornings. We can turn-up and get individual tickets. Back to Ballintoy for Saturday evening. Sunday Start at 10am?? for a longer ride to Donegal, taking the Magilligan - Greencastle ferry to Inishowen – 15 min £5/€7.50 single (£7.50 return) - to the spectacular Malin headland: Ireland's most northerly point. There is also a seasonal Buncrana - Rathmullan ferry that could extend the westerly scope of the run, but I don't think that it starts until mid-June. We can see when we go by Buncrana. It could be an idea to bring some € Euros for a trip across the border to Donegal.
  4. Trevor needs a new rear tyre so I think that I will wait for him to come down to Belfast from Larne and bring him to a tyre change place. Then I'll go up to Ballintoy with him and Louise, early afternoon (I hope). So Gary, you just head on up when you arrive off the ferry. See you all at tea time.
  5. Gary, Harry and James]: I'm not sure yet when exactly I will travel, but I (and Davy Russell?) could meet you guys at Larne when you get in just after noon on Friday? Do you want to PM me a mobile phone number? Andy Bogwopit You still planning to arrive in at the unearthly hour of 6.30 that morning? Any thoughts on what you'll do? Bob B will be at the Hostel on Thursday night, so he'll probably be there if you do head on up early Friday morning. Anyone else likely to be heading north and going through Belfast or Larne on Friday late morning/midday? That timescale could match the guys coming up via Dublin on Friday morning – Jaap, Antonio, Jens & poss Somersetlemon. Anyone got Jaap's mobile number? Trevor, what crossing/when for you? David
  6. What do you need to bring? A motorbike. Bedding is provided. Bring towels and toiletries; and some food for breakfast and snacks (or buy it locally) as the hostel is self-catering. 9. No one will be forced to make cultural visits. I was just giving some response to Jaap's request for info on museums/places of interest.
  10. All rain has been cancelled for the end of May. There will only be sunshine. If you want rain, you will have to bring your own.
  11. Just another option: If you want to think about crossing earlier in the week and staying by the sea close to where we were last year and touring from there, you could have free accommodation in a static caravan. I'm not sure where I have good photos of the place, on the web. There are some here, not great: > Click here for Cloughey photos
  12. Some of you like military museums. Dunree http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgnY-jTYNNA and This is a fun-weird one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3frkXDDAHM There was a big submarine base at Lough Swilly, near to where we will be staying From Wikipedia Lough Swilly Location County Donegal, Ireland

  14. Thanks so much Hayden. I did look for it last night and couldn't see it. Maybe I was too early and it hadn't been made available yet.
  15. Just another suggestion. If you crossed to here earlier, you could avoid the Bank Holiday traffic and visit the Transport Museum just outside Belfast. http://www.nmni.com/uftm/Collections/Transport-(1)/Transport-Galleries/Transport-Galleries Not anything as big for bikes of course, but it has some interesting exhibits including Rex McCandless (Norton Featherbed frame) and other bike related inventions and history. There is a Joey Dunlop exhibition on. I haven't seen it. http://www.nmni.com/uftm/What-s-on/Exhibitions/Joey-Dunlop--King-of-the-Roads Another idea would be to book in to Ballintoy early and take a day or two to see Donegal (or the Fermanagh Lakes). If you did that, I would see if I could get away a day early to join you. This would be every bit as as spectacular as the extra Britain tour, but with the bonus of less traffic on the roads. EDIT I have asked about the Joey exhibition. It is very small. I'd say it's not worth travelling to see. If you do consider arriving here a day or two earlier, better to see the country.
  16. Yeah, but I forgot and went out. I meant to record it.
  17. Oh you're a (double) tease. - good site/links-
