  3. I thought you might say that.
  4. When I originally enquired, there was lots of space available. I asked for 15 to 20 beds to be pencilled in for me, as I didn't know what amount of interest there would be. I called at the Hostel this afternoon. There have been a lot of bookings in the past week and now there is not much space left and the single and double rooms have gone.. There's probably enough left though. I have paid a deposit to book the rest of the beds, apart from one 6-bed room – and I'll book that in the next week if it looks like we'll need it. The Camping Barn has been booked by someone else, but a good amount of the Hostel was being held for me, so what I have now booked is: In the Hostel 2 x Family Rooms – double & 2 singles (bunks) 1 x Double Room 2 x 4 Bed Rooms 2 x 6 Bed Rooms All rooms are en-suite. It is self-catering. There is another 6 bed room that I could book. They are buying a nearby Bed and Breakfast, so there will be rooms available there for over-spill, or people who would prefer B&B. There are other guest houses in the village and I also saw one that has camping. The point is, accommodation should be booked as soon as possible. I have paid the deposit, so let me know if you want to book a bed. You don't need to contact the Hostel. You can make payment when you arrive. The Waller family (California combo containing family of 5) will require one of the family rooms, I guess. It is a great location. 5. Unfortunately not. I was out today and my hands were frozen. I think there may be an extra connector in the Norge for accessories, so perhaps it is present in the Breva and Sport as well. I doubt that there would be a 'control'. But I don't know. There are one or two(?) free connectors under the Griso seat. At least one supplies 12V. However these aren't for accessories, but for diagnostics. I don't see why your dealer can't just add a connector and a fuse into the loom. I'd need to check the wiring diagram to see what's where: but I'm sure someone else will answer with some facts.
  6. DL, I think that PR was being facetious, ironic,
  7. I'll see if I can get a run up to the place tomorrow, to clarify how it would work and check what's what with the facilities.
  8. General location map on this new page: belfastguzzi.com/www/moto-guzzi-ulster-2
  9. Well no, the importer hasn't said that 10/40 semi is ok. However I'm arguing that the effect of their attitude is that they have authorised it, even if they are wrong. The Dealer uses it, perhaps because he is careless and he just uses the one barrel for everything that passes through the workshop. The Importer endorses whatever the Dealer does, perhaps because he is just careless too. It doesn't make them right. It doesn't mean that the bike is being looked after properly. But it's not my choice to use that oil and if the MG guys don't listen to me, then they can't refuse Warranty on the basis that the wrong oil has been used?
  10. The price I was told is £14 per person per night for a Single The Double is £30 so it would be £15 per person per night. Maybe it is only the double rooms that are en-suite? I will find out. If I made a group booking, everything would be £13 per person.
  11. Great bit of photo exploration/explanation. Now, that's an interesting question. Where does the warranty stand in a situation like this? The handbook says to 'use 10-60 synthetic'. The MG Authorised Service Guy says: "10-40 semi is perfect for everything" and that's all that he uses. The importer, Piaggio UK Aftercare say: "your Dealer Guy will look after the bike. Full Stop. What do you know? And internet forum chat is all rubbish talk by fools." So the upshot is that 10-40 semi-synth is 'authorised' by the Guzzi system and my bike has been running it for the past year. What would they say / could they say regarding Warranty cover?
  12. Can she be a Bonnie Scrambler? Go on... or a Bonny Bonnie Lass?
  13. Right, more info and time to start booking. Sheep Island View Hostel SHEEP ISLAND VIEW HOSTEL 42a, Main Street, Ballintoy, Ballycastle. Singe = £14 Double = £30 per night If it was a group booking it would be £13 per head, but unless a bunch of you can give a definite commitment to me now, it is easier to have everyone make their own booking. 14. Copied over from the Special Silly Place and another place, until I get a proper topic thread organised: Ulster 2 (working title) Spring Bank Holiday 28-31 May 2010 Here's where I fancy being based this time. It's in a beautiful place on the North Coast: Ballintoy, near Ballycastle. It would be perfect for seeing some of the 'touristy' places. It would also make a run to Donegal easier (easier than from Portaferry). The best ferry crossing from Scotland would be to Larne. There were Moto Guzzi rallys there in the 1990s. Click here: Sheep Island View Hostel I think that there is also camping. I will find out. What do you think? I will need to gather definite numbers soon to make a booking. I see there is more info about facilities, accommodation and nearby attractions, including Bushmills Distillery, on this site: www.discovernorthernireland.com and on the area: discovernorthernireland-Antrim Saturday will be the important day for a ride somewhere then. I don't think you, or others, will want to go a long way because you have to travel back on the Sunday. So the lakes would be too far. The good thing is that you can have a good ride up the Coast Road, when you come to the place from the ferry – so we don't need to do that road again. I think you will like to see some places nearby, like the Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, maybe some sandy beaches, Bushmills Distillery.... Look HERE Have a look at the map here: http://www.northantrim.com/temporary_map.htm This shows some of the attractions in the area: http://www.walkforfun.co.uk/causeway.html http://www.northantrimtourism.com/index.ph...0&Itemid=54 and maybe we should do the road here: http://www.northantrimtourism.com/index.ph...6&Itemid=36
  15. That's a great picture. There's a whole story captured in that image.
  16. Well this isn't a bad spot to post it. I'd prefer that you don't post it on Wildgoosechase.com or somewhere else where it will just get lost. At least it's nice and quiet here. Don't post it in a post box either. I will start a new thread about it soon, when I get some more info about the place. I was thinking of asking JRT, his capacity as Mod of this forum to tidy up the thread, though it's as easy to just start a new one.
  17. Is it double rooms? I need to look see. If so, I will need to share.
  18. In fact, you may be correct. The effects of our winter is having a catastrophic effect. The frost and generally bad weather has been wrecking road surfaces and opening potholes. A couple of the main road races have already been called off. It seems that the state of the road has been the, or a, major factor. There is never enough money to keep our main roads repaired, so there is little chance of having back roads fixed. That, plus local club difficulties, the results of death inquests, general h&s issues, lack of money ('fans' don't even want to pay the price of a programme for their day's entertainment) and perhaps some lack of local management capability... the outleak for the coming season's calendar is bleak.
  19. Well done Jaap. I think that it's a great option for 'freshening-up' the V.11 and maintaining interest in keeping it on the road. I look forward to seeing the transformation. I don't suppose that you will bring it to Ulster though..??? Give Antonio and friends your luggage to carry on their Sports. Congratulations! D
  20. Excuse me – I haven't had a haircut for about 35 years. Apart from occasional DIY.
  21. Yep, I'm just back from another Awards ceremony, after receiving another Award. Who needs Quiz Points when you can have Awards?
  22. Bendy is a miser. He won't part with the points. Take this one: and another for having to wait:
