Great bit of photo exploration/explanation. Now, that's an interesting question. Where does the warranty stand in a situation like this? The handbook says to 'use 10-60 synthetic'. The MG Authorised Service Guy says: "10-40 semi is perfect for everything" and that's all that he uses. The importer, Piaggio UK Aftercare say: "your Dealer Guy will look after the bike. Full Stop. What do you know? And internet forum chat is all rubbish talk by fools." So the upshot is that 10-40 semi-synth is 'authorised' by the Guzzi system and my bike has been running it for the past year. What would they say / could they say regarding Warranty cover?

Copied over from the Special Silly Place and another place, until I get a proper topic thread organised: Ulster 2 (working title) Spring Bank Holiday 28-31 May 2010 Here's where I fancy being based this time. It's in a beautiful place on the North Coast: Ballintoy, near Ballycastle. It would be perfect for seeing some of the 'touristy' places. It would also make a run to Donegal easier (easier than from Portaferry). The best ferry crossing from Scotland would be to Larne. There were Moto Guzzi rallys there in the 1990s. Click here: Sheep Island View Hostel I think that there is also camping. I will find out. What do you think? I will need to gather definite numbers soon to make a booking. I see there is more info about facilities, accommodation and nearby attractions, including Bushmills Distillery, on this site: www.discovernorthernireland.com and on the area: discovernorthernireland-Antrim Saturday will be the important day for a ride somewhere then. I don't think you, or others, will want to go a long way because you have to travel back on the Sunday. So the lakes would be too far. The good thing is that you can have a good ride up the Coast Road, when you come to the place from the ferry – so we don't need to do that road again. I think you will like to see some places nearby, like the Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, maybe some sandy beaches, Bushmills Distillery.... Look HERE Have a look at the map here: http://www.northantrim.com/temporary_map.htm This shows some of the attractions in the area: http://www.walkforfun.co.uk/causeway.html http://www.northantrimtourism.com/index.ph...0&Itemid=54 and maybe we should do the road here: http://www.northantrimtourism.com/index.ph...6&Itemid=36

Well this isn't a bad spot to post it. I'd prefer that you don't post it on Wildgoosechase.com or somewhere else where it will just get lost. At least it's nice and quiet here. Don't post it in a post box either. I will start a new thread about it soon, when I get some more info about the place. I was thinking of asking JRT, his capacity as Mod of this forum to tidy up the thread, though it's as easy to just start a new one.

V11LeMans.com Continental Meeting 2010

Is it double rooms? I need to look see. If so, I will need to share. -
In fact, you may be correct. The effects of our winter is having a catastrophic effect. The frost and generally bad weather has been wrecking road surfaces and opening potholes. A couple of the main road races have already been called off. It seems that the state of the road has been the, or a, major factor. There is never enough money to keep our main roads repaired, so there is little chance of having back roads fixed. That, plus local club difficulties, the results of death inquests, general h&s issues, lack of money ('fans' don't even want to pay the price of a programme for their day's entertainment) and perhaps some lack of local management capability... the outleak for the coming season's calendar is bleak.

Well done Jaap. I think that it's a great option for 'freshening-up' the V.11 and maintaining interest in keeping it on the road. I look forward to seeing the transformation. I don't suppose that you will bring it to Ulster though..??? Give Antonio and friends your luggage to carry on their Sports. Congratulations! D

Excuse me – I haven't had a haircut for about 35 years. Apart from occasional DIY.

Yep, I'm just back from another Awards ceremony, after receiving another Award. Who needs Quiz Points when you can have Awards?

Bendy is a miser. He won't part with the points. Take this one: and another for having to wait:

Don't be bashful: show us the CARC. -

Yes. (And the CARC is such a heavy, dominant, non-descriptive lump. It's hard to make a good feature of it.) And I've wondered why the Bellagio has been so low key as well, given the good rider reports.

For news on the Ulster event, you now have to look in the Continental Meeting topic in the Silly Banter forum. Excellent!

I hope you enjoy reading about Northern Ireland, in the Continental topic!

Brilliant! Did you look at the proposal for the North Coast location? I'm waiting for some info back from them on accommodation breakdown. Then booking can begin.

I was thinking that in general, there is more likelihood of batteries being overcharged, rather than batteries freezing: but maybe some people are in places where batteries will freeze: thankfully it doesn't get that cold here! You guys have the additional headlamp-always-on demand on the system. While we have that now on current models, we didn't with the V.11s and their more weedy alternator. Have you observed and traced 'the wet-spot' yet DH?
-
Ah yes, I see now! Yes is the answer. I will give more information in a little while. Maybe later next week. Last year we were beside Strangford Lough, which is like a big lake, except it has a tide! This year, I propose that we go to a beautiful place beside the sea. There are very nice beaches and places of interest, and from there it would also be possible to go to some of the big lakes in the County Fermanagh lakeland (Lough Erne) or to the mountains and rugged coastline in County Donegal. It will be great. How many days will you be here?

I've already got a colour-scheme in mind for it. I can see it now, newly-wrapped in Fablon.
