  1. I have the dates in my calendar from the first time that you mentioned it. Plan to be there and will confirm whenever it is possible – or becomes necessary.
  2. How do they manage the clip ons? They're obviously pretty high.
  3. Sure there can't be much left of the original Scura. If your 'friends' hadn't already parted it out (and swapped in all the old crud of the day) they will do now.
  4. Unfortunately I'm home again. I couldn't stay longer as I have to leave on Thursday for Bologna.
  5. for 2010 European-ish meet, but the thread is closed. Oh well... some other time.
  6. No, I think that was because the same link was already in another thread, so the admin intention was only to avoid duplication. All information and pointers to interesting items are appreciated.
  7. Now I'm convinced that Guzzi got their badge wrong. It must be a V8, not an 8V. You have to laugh really. Last night the 'reserve' fuel warning light come at 83.5 miles – a particularly bad figure, but exactly the same as it gave a few weeks ago at another 'low'. When I filled up and checked the display, the average mileage reading said 19mpg! 19!! If the display is in US galls, that is 12.4 L per km
  8. and fuel consumption?
  9. Not really because it has always been the same (before the dealer oil change) TPS could be off. That's something I said to the dealer / service agent, but he doesn't believe in attaching the Axone at service time! I said to him that the original dealer had done nothing at first service apart from change the oil filter: Axone definitely wasn't used. tps wasn't checked / re-set. This other dealer, the 'new' one, considered that to be perfectly normal at service / first service. Services are just oil changes, apparently! Pete also finds the 8V to be thirsty. I don't know how thirsty, quanitatively. It would be interesting to hear from Paul, after his European trip, right enough.
  10. And mostly very un-PC as well. Especially Guzzirider, who is known for his peculiar preferences. TR6 over a midget, indeed.
  11. £15,000 would have bought one, last time we were looking at this topic (about a year and half ago?). A number of first owners seem to be selling now. Maybe the market will soon by flooded (by all 5 or 6 machines!). Maybe they are all due for a new engine now.
  12. I think Moto Strada's prices are always very high. They are well above the amount being asked for similar bikes that I've seen elsewhere / locally. As you say, maybe European sales are keeping prices in bigger dealers high – though I suspect that these guys are just on the high side anyway.
  13. In the other thread where I mentioned this trip, I compared it to a Triumph trip to Sardinia direction which is much longer and much cheaper. Triumph vs MG... eh, Guzzirider?
  14. Put your info in a post, then I'll add it to the top post list. Thanks
  15. Did Enzo fiddle with his fly while on the bike too? Well, I can guess the answer.
  16. You mustn't take a superficial few on what manufacturers' phrases appear to say. Clearly these devices, to be legal, are designed to be used by all races and creeds. I therefore ran that phrase through a few translations to check its meaning. Back into English, it is true to say the meaning is shown to also be, "They are suitable for extinguishing rate easy-to-use-of-a-button fly." This issue isn't as simple as this thread would lead you to believe.
  17. As Paul said at the time, maybe that bike was used to get extra testing done, as it's easier if you get out on the road. There have certainly been individual modifications for the road. It could be that someone has then produced a kit too. First though, you need the bike....
  18. It comes and goes. Sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. The MG dealer/agent says that the problem will be bad connections at the fuses. We'll see!
  19. You'll recognise this stretch of road: up part of east side of Strangford Lough. I put a basic pocket camera in tank bag – and unlike other videos posted before, there's no microphone so no good sound.
  20. I had a little pocket video camera and took some video on this road. Unfortunately the battery expired so it kept turning off and then quit altogether just before the more interesting sections. Edit I also put this in the 'Ulster Rally' thread: part of east side of Strangford Lough.
  21. I never saw it first time round. If it was a test mule then it's an early curiosity and I thought others would be interested to see it too. Found it when looking back at old stuff for St Augustine's Ducati girlfiend.
  22. Ah, at last, an explanation for the little chap who sits on the handlebars of my red-frame Scura.
