Serious?

Did Enzo fiddle with his fly while on the bike too? Well, I can guess the answer.

You mustn't take a superficial few on what manufacturers' phrases appear to say. Clearly these devices, to be legal, are designed to be used by all races and creeds. I therefore ran that phrase through a few translations to check its meaning. Back into English, it is true to say the meaning is shown to also be, "They are suitable for extinguishing rate easy-to-use-of-a-button fly." This issue isn't as simple as this thread would lead you to believe.

Old pics of road MGS
belfastguzzi replied to belfastguzzi's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
As Paul said at the time, maybe that bike was used to get extra testing done, as it's easier if you get out on the road. There have certainly been individual modifications for the road. It could be that someone has then produced a kit too. First though, you need the bike.... -
It comes and goes. Sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. The MG dealer/agent says that the problem will be bad connections at the fuses. We'll see!

You'll recognise this stretch of road: up part of east side of Strangford Lough. I put a basic pocket camera in tank bag – and unlike other videos posted before, there's no microphone so no good sound.
-
I had a little pocket video camera and took some video on this road. Unfortunately the battery expired so it kept turning off and then quit altogether just before the more interesting sections. Edit I also put this in the 'Ulster Rally' thread: part of east side of Strangford Lough.

Old pics of road MGS

I never saw it first time round. If it was a test mule then it's an early curiosity and I thought others would be interested to see it too. Found it when looking back at old stuff for St Augustine's Ducati girlfiend. -
Ah, at last, an explanation for the little chap who sits on the handlebars of my red-frame Scura.

Found pics posted here in 2004 of a FACTORY road going MGS, apparently. :!: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...ost&p=39021

Had a look but can't see it. Must have been about 3 years ago, or more? -
Last night was fairly calm. As I sit here now, the wind and rain are lashing. The evenings are pretty well gone.

Builders vs Riders
belfastguzzi replied to sharperdill's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Hi Sharper I think it's more of an observation than a philosophy. There are many types of interest associated with bikes and machinery and the world is richer for the variety. If I'd more time and space, I'd like to do both those things that you mention. -
No, no. Me too. He doesn't specify what weight of hammer to use. I'm confused.

Put your info in the Griso, Breva, 1200 Sport, Bellagio, Norge, Stelvio forum Your bike in this thread and what about some comments on how the bikes have been over the past year or two?

I've found this. It's on video! climbing!

Which of the newer (carc-type) bikes, or let's just say post-V.11, do Forum members have? Add yourself to the list: Breva1100 Brushwarrior (England) – Dimitris (Greece, Macedonia, Thessaloniki) – ABS 2006 (40.000 kms on the clock) [V11 Le Mans, '98 1100 Sport] 1200 Sport Jaap (Netherlands) – 2008 [V11 LeMans 2001] Antonio (Netherlands) – V11f (France) – Norge 1200 Mark 909 (Brisbane, Australia) – GT 2007 [Tenni] Griso 1100 GuzziMoto (first one in the state of Maryland. B'more, MD) – 2007 [2000 V11; '93 Daytona 1000] Griso 1200 8V Belfastguzzi (Northern Ireland) – 2008 [V11 Scura, '84 LeMans Mklll] Pete Roper (Australia) – (2008?); Griso 1100 Stelvio 4V Paul M (Netherlands) – 2009 Philmac (Coventry, England) – 2008 (ex-Guzzirider) ['76 850T3] V7C Sign216 (Massachusetts, USA) – 2009 Wierd Sisters (hybrids?) Greg Field [1973 850 Eldorado USA – it may soon be sporting a CARC] – are you serious Greg? That's just a quick start: please correct / add to the list. It would be great to see more reports on experience with the different models. E.g. I'd like to hear more about the 1200S as it looks like a good sport-tourer and I know Jaap & Ant have been out and about on theirs.

I'm saving up for an air fare (return!) to get PR here. They need to meet, face to face. I'm putting it on the Guzzi World Wrestling Tournament bill: Top Billing 1 Ratchet 'The Hatchet' Hack vs 'Gentleman' Greg Field Other Attractions 2 'My Man in Norn Iron' vs Pete 'Platypus' Roper 3 Dave 'R.D.' Laing vs Enzo 'The Cobra' Nemo 4 Euan 'The Haggis' Macguzzi vs Guy 'Pieman' Guzzirider Any more contenders? 'Roll up, roll up'

Thanks for posting. I was thinking of asking for info on the other recent bikes. It's just for interest. I certainly agree 100% with your "I'm trying to ignore the fuel consumption ... and enjoy it (which any Guzzi is great for !)" – Absolutely! However it is also a bit frustrating when the bike's fuel tank is small and the riding range is correspondingly low. I was starting to get worried last weekend: I realised that I should have filled up when I saw a station at 75 miles and then nothing more... warning light came on.... still nothing and I was on a stretch of coast road with no obvious fuel stations at each of the small villages. 75 miles seemed just too ridiculous to be filling-up again – but next time, I will. The Griso tank from warning light to brim-full = 13L 13 L = 3.43 USGALL = 2.86 IMPGALL In average, practical terms: Griso 1200 8V has a 13L to 15L capacity and gives a practical tank range of 100 miles at best (warning light) to 120 miles max 100 miles = 160 km 120 miles = 193km I'm getting approx 8 miles per litre, 12.8 km per L In very round, practical terms, my G12 8V has a capacity of 3 gallons and gives a max of 120 miles at best = 40 mpg (Imperial Gallons) * 40mpg isn't so bad, actually* ~ approx 14 km per L ~ approx 7L per 100km 1200 Sport.... What are finding is your average range? 23L (is that max capacity?) and you are getting 250 km on a half-tank (approx)!? 5L / 100km so you have a range of about 450 miles!!!!?

Ah yeah, that reminds me, for my list. My kickstand nut came loose. Then I tightened it.
