  1. Plug cap etc as above, plus brake and clutch levers small amounts of silicone sealer, Araldite / epoxy, tape, cableties, tieing wire, nuts/bolts/screws for leaks / cracks / breaks & other damage latex gloves rag
  2. Is that Ratchet and DL, on their honeymoon in 1979?
  3. You can buy that particular one for £35,000 if you want. Or, just sign this cheque written out for £350,000: given your 'eye for detail'.
  4. Not this year, but next Spring could be good, after the snow has gone. An informal ride about, look around. If Baldini doesn't get himself out of deep Wales, I might have to go looking for him too. There isn't anything like in the Yorkshire moors, is there??? Or giant boulders?
  5. Yes, nice photos / roads. On Sunday last, when Countryfile was celebrating 500 years of broadcasting to the Nation, or something like that, the programme was made up from features on the presenters' favourite places. The Yorkshire Moors was one: for the place and the food. Someone should organise a V11 meet there sometime... Bikes, steam trains, viaducts, hills, views, pies
  6. er... the ebay bid? No. The price was too 'dear' for an elk.
  7. The pics aren't so big now that I'm looking at them on a 15" screen again. They were HUGE on the 24"! *Sigh* Everything is relative. Giri x 1000 – absolutely
  8. Gosh, so it is. Those pics are terribly big. They weren't that size when I posted them. Could it be a miraculous enlargement?
  9. So we've got the address. Now we just need someone** who can drive a giant SUV. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=155410 Prepare to have your pants scared off, Mr Roper! cackle cackle I suggest that the roundabout behind Pete's house, with no roads in or out, would be ideal spot for a 'hit'. Where's that thread with a pic?... ah, here. **Or has Paul M exposed himself as Giant Boulder Man the Masked Avenger? I would never have suspected that. And... Hmm... Could Paul M and D Laing be one and the same person? I never would have suspected that! Position giant boulder at lane A Position giant SUV at lane B Position giant fast moving tree at lane C Pete Roper enters stage right... Lane A –––––––––> Lane C –––––––––> [er, it's a good job that Ratchet has a sense of humour – I hope – ]
  10. Yeah. So you would use the headers as they are (I guess you couldn't bend them any) and make up the rest? With more fat-looking stuff? > Use the Griso can too. Then you would have a mighty Boa Constrictor that would eat Enzo's Cobra alive. Though dear knows what Enzo has moved on to now. A Kraken?
  11. For the V11? You know those Griso header pipes are fat?
  12. Besides, you don't live in the scene of the crime: North San Diego County, California. You would have to be really keen. It's possible (and your eagerness to point to 'soccer mum' could be construed as a hasty attempt to divert attention) but I suspect other(s).
  13. Accommodation deposits A deposit of £200 has been requested (from me) and then the final balance in one payment at the May meeting weekend. I suppose that's the usual arrangement, for an organised group booking. It's not ideal in our situation, where it will work better for everyone to make their own payment. I've been sitting on it for a while as I want to call at the place to discuss the options and find out if it's ok for people to book by phone. If I have to pay a lump-sum deposit, then maybe the UK folk can divide the deposit cost and send me a cheque? The point is I want to try to avoid the extra cost of bank charges that will be incurred in converting Euros to sterling, although that will only apply in a few cases. Any comments, please let me know. I hope to call at the weekend, if the guy can be there to meet.
  14. maybe it's a good thing that others aren't thinking along the same lines !
  15. I knew it! Dave Laing!
  16. But, I thought you liked that sort of thing?!?!
  17. It's all completely different, with custom made tank and bodywork, all a different shape to the original – and narrower.
  18. Ok. Own up. Who was driving the giant SUV?
  19. Paranoid – moi? That's what he said! He said parking-lot! That's what he said!
  20. No I don't like the paint design either. I was referring to the parts mods because there has been some talk over the past year about whether clip-ons would work ok on this bike. For aesthetics, Barbacane's fabulous Zero set the aspirational bar (no pun intended): though who knows how it handles? I haven't checked again – the race Grisos must have clip-ons, but that's different from lugging the thing around in variable road conditions. Something like the Zero is out of reach as it's so heavily (i.e. expensively) modded. This EZ bike doesn't appear to have any body mods up front, so it's interesting that it has the clip-ons. And a couple of views of the Zero again:
  21. I emailed yesterday to ask for more info on their bars. The small web pictures don't show clear detail. However I've also found Barracuda and Rizoma risers on the web now, which, if they are exactly the right size, would be a better bet to try out.
  22. and an exhaust without the stock u-bend / sharp kinks Unlike the Zero, something like this version could be achievable.
  23. Thanks very much Pete, for the great offer. I've emailed the dealer about the recall work, to see when it can be done, and I'll have them do the map upgrade at the same time. If there's a big delay or other problems, I'll get back to you to enquire about the swap.
