  1. Yes. Why didn't they do that?
  2. Guzzirider suggested that some others in Europe might be interested in coming to Ireland for the May meeting. I've made a web page that can be viewed without logging in. If you are a member of other Guzzi boards, please post the link if you want. If you do, it would be useful if you could post back here what sites the info has been put on. http://moto.belfastguzzi.com and a second page is linked from there. People can email belfastguzzi@googlemail.com to register interest or for info. Thanks BFG
  3. Oh yeah, I forgot about the little matter of your ASBO
  4. Well, we could include England, to get back from Scotland to Wales. – but can we get through it really quickly?
  5. Bebo is children and young teenagers. I suppose it's UK, rather than international. Facebook is a horrible mess, but it does have its uses. I can be a good way of getting information around people. Hyves? That sound like a social disease, not a social network.
  6. I've talked with Baldini before about the idea of a 'Celtic Fringe' event: i.e. Wales to Ireland to Scotland. But that's for another year. One with copious amounts of free time. I'd take nothing away from the idea of going to Scotland, but I'd also recommend that you could spend extra time here. Donegal would be handy and rewarding. All around Ireland's coast the scenery / mountains are quite different. Some of the west and south west is quite like Scottish Highlands. In the North, there's the Fermanagh lakeland – which we won't have time for on the Bank Holiday.
  7. I'd say: feel free to advertise. Point people to this Forum and to the other belfastguzzi.com website.** It would be great to get a decent size of MG posse together over here. That begs the question of accommodation. After a brief Facebook** chat with Guzzirider, the idea that there may be a number of different accommodation bases is something to consider. Getting a campsite is relatively easy, but some folk don't enjoy camping. Getting a building with enough rooms for all would be difficult, especially over the Bank Holiday. So as long as we stay in the same area, there could be a mix of B&B, hotel, camping, self-catering? And as long as there's a space to all meet - eat - socialize in the evening. **Just thinking, maybe I'll set-up a Facebook page. Because of the NW200 (no date yet) there could be European Guzzisti interested in coming to NI and combining both events, if they're on consecutive weekends.
  8. Would it not have been better to have the colours the other way round? The green and brown would be a natural & fitting colour scheme for the 'off-road stylee' Stelvio and the Griso could look suitably posh with that blingy metallic colour.
  9. I'd regard that as a pretty serious commitment. Excellent! Doest that mean that you would have to ride half-way (actually all the way I suppose) across Europe to get here? MacHaggis, are you a 100%er?
  10. Thanks Jaap I'm only at the stage of trying things out and seeing how different elements of the site works. To confirm attendance, I think you should be able to add a 'comment' at the bottom of the page, then I will have to change the actual list. The site can be made collaborative, so that everyone could add stuff, change things etc. I don't want to have it so that everything can be changed by anybody, so I need to see if those sort of permissions can be set on individual pages, or whether it always applies to the whole site. I wonder has anyone used any of the Google applications for collaborative projects? Sharing word processing documents must be straight-forward, but collaborating through a site is a bit more complicated.
  11. Good man, GRider. People can confirm attendance in the Comments section at the bottom of the Attendees page – or just by posting here of course.
  12. I've added videos selected from YouTube, to the belfastguzzi.com website, if anyone wants to poke through them in the 200 days between now and the meeting. I'll weed them out / add more / add my own: as time allows. The list of names has been: BFG – Belfast, Northern Ireland Guzzirider – Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England Mrs Guzzirider – Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England Ballabio Bertie – Orkney, Scotland Antonio – Amsterdam, Netherlands Macguzzi – Edinburgh, Scotland Jaap – Varsseveld, Netherlands Jaap's girlfriend Wambiker – Liverpool, England Grossohc, Aberdeen, Scotland Ferguzzi, Clare, Ireland Tikkanen – Birkerød, 25 kilometres north of Copenhagen, Denmark Stockportclaret – Stockport, England Stockportclaret’s girlfriend Brushwarrior – Bury St. Edmunds, England Baldini ? – deep Wales • Any updates on this? You all still thinking of coming?
  13. I'm creating a site where I can put information about the 2009 meeting – 'Moto Guzzi Ulster Rally 2009' Information, maps, photos, videos can be added, for those who want to explore the area, prior to getting here. Website options that I have looked at require viewers to become members or 'users' and to log-in, rather than just go to the site and view it. In the end, I've gone with Google Sites and I'm trying to find out how it works. Any feedback to help this process is very welcome The site is www.belfastguzzi.com You can sign in to the domain at: EDIT no sign-in now. Go to homepage: http://sites.google.com/a/belfastguzzi.com/www/ At the moment there are a few pages about the May meeting. The content is just there to get started. It will be added to or altered as I find out how it works. Thanks
  14. Reading that, I'd say that the copywriter moved to Moto Guzzi. It's the same sort of thing that they still put out.
  15. Possibly from this thread: County Down ride? Sorry that the linked pics are big and so take forever to load.
  16. I'd need black spokes. They're using silver in those photos.
  17. Gstallons mentioned a sunset pic with the Griso. I'm not sure which one he was thinking of. Here's one, with Belfast Lough in the background. So why not have a thread of night-time photos? Any contributions?
  18. Which pic is that? MG are bad boys for not making the wire wheels available originally.
  19. There's not a lot inside the Quat box. When I got mine, (about two and a half years ago?) I was told that no more were being made because the V.11 wasn't in production. I really like the sound and the lack of weight hanging out the back. The headers have a different shape than the standard parts.
  20. Alternative version of a Scura tourer
  21. Am I the only one that think it looks all wrong? With the big fairing up front plus those big fat boxes on the back, it needs long pipes to balance the look. It could be ok with just the fairing, but the boxes are a killer. The Quat, while good on a proper Scura, is out of place here.
  22. Ahem, isn't Ropey Pete the grammatically correct description – wot ewe shood bee ewe sing?
  23. Road from Dublin to the North is now very good and quick.
