Short, sweet and unexpected sun: around County Down
belfastguzzi replied to belfastguzzi's topic in Travel & dealers
Yes! I stopped at a caravan that night, at Cloughey. I discovered a small 'pocket' set of paints with a tiny brush that I must have left in a drawer there once – so I set to it. I would actually like to keep a log of the bike with pictures and maybe drawings, maps etc... Certainly I'll keep some sort of patchy record on the web and on file, but I'd like to keep a more personalised version on paper. I'm sure some others must dabble at this? While most of the pleasure is in the doing, a great deal of pleasure is in the remembering, re-tracing too. Trouble is – I don't do your sort of traveling, so I may end up with more pictures of breaks and repairs than of 'great journeys'. Still: it's preparation for... someday. Re Coney Island Indeed. I specifically mentioned the names of Coney Island and Ardglass because I knew they would resonate with some people. Now you know a bit of what the area looks like. 2009 V.11 Rally? It might have to be a 'Guzzi' meet rather than just V.11s -

A correct answer and a pertinent question to round it off! The question adds a faint air of uncertainty to the splendid preciseness of the answer, so demonstrating the humility of the knowledgeable answerer (now there's a strange word). Bendy – give this man a point! -
Yeh I was considering it fortunate that the big casting wasn't cracked. It seems vulnerable. That pivot bolt is made of cheese. Do you think that's a safety / sacrificial feature? I'm putting steel in 'cos it's all I can make do with at the moment, but I've a slight nervousness about the whole-lot going down again and the steel bolt causing the alloy plate to break. I'll probably ask in the Griso forum, as you say that it's been happening to others. :!: You put your foot under and nothing broke!
-
Well, not smiling at the moment. First breakages. Bodging time again... Pics here, if you care to look: breaks and temporary fix.

By George! You're close to obtaining a point. You're just not very precise with the age. -

The pictures don't always load. Sometimes it needs a reload / refresh and they come up. If anyone can explain the limitations of putting linked pictures on the site, I'd be glad of any replies, here or in the 'Motha Forum' thread. E.g. is there an optimum max. number of links; is it better to keep pics to a certain size, even though they're linked. This may all depend on the bandwidth / performance of the hosting server? -
Pity you're not coming to the Scotland gig. MacHaggis' room will be the place to be.

"Napoli, among his violent attacks was even reported to have used an electric drill to bore into a rival's arm, and nearly crushed his face and dislocated an eye. He put a severely beaten rival in the hospital for four days. And he threatened to kill any associates who went to the police. "What you did was uncivilized," said U.S. District Judge Harvey Bartle III" Context is everything. Over here, that activity has been deemed 'political', so the guys who did it for years – walk free. Actually maybe that's why I find the sight of local or UK bikers in Hells Angels colours / pose so bizarre. There are Outlaws ---- and then there are outlaws!

those guys are business angels I bet they could fix you you up with some resources pretty quickly

errrr... that one is Barack Obama, circa New Hampshire. A pretty neat programme. The 'gizashot' – no idea. I'll take a leap – and guess that there might have been a programme called, 'The Crankie MacTavish Happy Hour'?

Name, age, country of origin, purpose?

"In March 2008 it was revealed in a BBC documentary interview of an FBI agent that Hells Angels members attempted to carry out a plan to murder Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones in 1969 in response to a dispute with him over concert security they had provided. The gang members planned to kill Jagger by reaching him by sea at his vacation home in Long Island, NY. The plan failed, however, when a storm hit their boat, throwing the men overboard" Oh er... not sailor-boys then. I know the 'old' Angel stuff – it just always seems so bizarre to see people in the UK, for example, in 2008, dressed as and describing themselves as Hells Angels, like any other off-the-shelf lifestyle statement. What's the substance?

These days, what do these guys do? Someone here must know have some around the neighbourhood or even be one Badmotogoosey? – spill the beans I see that they are here.

At least you went out with a bang. -
Thia week MCN has a Ridden & Rated 24-page guide to every 2008 bike. It includes Guzzis of course. Even has some varieties we never knew about. In the Naked section, there are 2 Griso models listed, pictured, facted and figured. There's a Griso 8V that costs £8334. It has a capacity of 1064cc with 86bhp It's available in silver, apparently. The 'verdict' section says that the new 8V motor has the top end punch to invogourate its rider. That would be the 86bhp punch. Then there is a Griso 1200 It has a capacity of 1138cc with 95bhp It weighs the same as the 8v, at 227kg but unlike the 1200, the 8V is available in blue. The verdict on this model is that it has a lightly breathed-on version of the Breva motor and is very smooth for a low and long roadster. The, er, generally available, shop standard 1200-8v, which has 1151cc, isn't mentioned. There can only be one explanation. They must have been copying 'facts' of MG's website.

Same here. Both car and bike: 120 miles on a tank. Is it from yesterday or today all UK petrol sold is meant to have 2%(?) vegetables in it, rising to a 5% petrol stew in 2010?

There's a Pearl White! So, like they say, there's nothing new, it's all been done before. That Porsche. It just needs the gold pin-striping. It would be fine. Well, maybe some panels in burr Walnut -

Good news for Serge fans! The S-L site that prompted this thread can't be connected from the link in the first post anymore. But its still here. Or so I have it, on good authority. I haven't looked myself. (now, where's my credit card....)
