  1. On sunny days, I like to accessorize. (Guzzi connection? The dirty looking bird – it's an eagle, yes really.)
  2. Show your wardrobe? OK My favourite, for the damp days: you know those days when your tacho fogs up and people try to tell you that everything is miserable?
  3. Ah, ok. Got you.
  4. At last a sort-of answer! Or at least a move towards a plausible theory. I didn't know about the acrylic ring (or plate?). As in old thread, I drilled holes in tacho in positions to replicate the speedo case, so I still don't think that the whole answer is in the speedo's 'ventilation holes' though I need to look at the things to properly understand what you're saying. Thanks
  5. Well, like I said in the tacho thread, the climate is damp here. PS there are plenty of pics around here from Guzzirider's wardrobe over past few years, though Jaap may have removed them for his private gallery. Suede leather, fringes, lacy blouses. Say no more. The pics speak loudly enough.
  6. You'll find information about various attempts to fix this. I have tried, but have found no solution that made any difference at all. Jaap says that drilling a hole worked for him. The climate is probably damper here, but I don't know if that really explains why it didn't work for me.
  7. I'm tempted to say that you should contact them about transporting your big shaft for you – the one that you can't get in a Tupperware box. But I'll not. (You'll probably want to keep your problems to yourself in future.)
  8. Well, sorry to tell you that mine's even bigger! It's a V.11. Ever seen one of these monsters? Trouble is it's so big that it keeps bustin' its guts – so I have to haul it about. I'm getting a bit tired of that, so I'm looking for a transport company to do it for me. I heard that either Europe or America might be a good place to find such a company. S'pose if I had access to that internet I could find out about these sort of things. Oh well... some day.
  9. I heard they run real gut, I mean good. I would get at least one myself, if only I could get one or two transported across Europe to where I am. That's the bit that has me stumped. If only there was a way to transport them.... ?
  10. Looks good on the map. I'd go for that. What says MacG?
  11. What's it like heading north-east through the Southern Uplands? Cross-country rather than main road routes.
  12. I'd want to get around the hills. I'd like to have time there, rather than them just being a through route. Yes to Glentrool and Clatteringshaws Loch. Arran is fabulous, but I don't fancy the ferry waiting and traveling time that would be taken out of the day. Could be persuaded, though the ferry is also an extra cost. I and others will already have ferry journeys at either end of the weekend. I hate and loathe the Stranraer - Ayr road. It's always raining. It's always grey. It's windswept. It's always cluttered with traffic. It's often misty / foggy. And aren't there speed cameras all the way? It's a road I always feel pressurised on. Probably due to too many dashes for the ferry in atrocious weather.
  13. Bonus vid. Dangerous experiments with the natural pace of evolution: water-jet flying car

    Stelvio

As it happens, I saw the 8v yesterday too. A dealer not too far away has taken on MG and now has a full range of models in stock! Wonders will never cease! He said it would be a few weeks yet, before a Stelvio arrives. He's going to Donington where MG are putting on some sort of riding day for dealers to try it. In a week or so? I should have asked more about it. Maybe you could put on your 'Official Guzzi Meister' disguise and wing one out the gate. There's an 1100 Griso in the showroom with a Termi pipe (sounds good) for £7,399 or so. Shop-guy says it's the most enjoyable/addictive bike that he's ridden in recent years and he's ridden most, also does some racing. When he took it home and was about to park up, he had to just carry on down the road for a few hours instead, which he says doesn't happen with other bikes. I think that Helen should have one. There's also an MGS 01. An Italian has just bought it, to the dealer's disappointment – as he fancied saving up to buy it himself – and unfortunately the bike will leave the country after a while when the purchaser goes back to his home-country. He's putting it on the road. Looks like I'll definitely have to organise that MG 2009 Ulster riding weekend. To prep you for the Stelvio, have you seen the V7 in Bolivia stuff on YouTube? etc I sense Spring in the air. You'll get a personal delivery, if you'll take it in red

Not long to go now! Have you oiled your wallet?
  16. Is anyone doing this with aeroplanes yet?
  17. Turning this thread all country and western counts as hijacking in my book. Back to The Martin Barrett Polyethylene Dilemma. This lady appears to have a solution in her store-cupboard. The only question now is, which colour?
  18. That's cos he's an Irish piper ye eedjit. All the green is the give-away.
  19. Rubber is so last year. I've changed my tailor. Following the recent debate in this place, we're now sporting a custom made version of the classic Belle-shaft waxed cotton suit.
  20. Who is the best boaster? Martin Barrett, whose Tupperware isn't long enough for his or Raz, whose humility isn't big enough for his?
  21. Halfords sells label adhesive remover in a spray can. As far as I remember, hot air didn't work very well for me when trying to remove a label from the tank.
  22. I know you don't mean that: here, this should keep you busy – more skirt
  23. Spelling mistake? Campshire?
