  1. On examination of the facts I see that I said_could_(never) – not_do_. I'm sure that Nagbod could formulate some sort of defence for me on that basis. Of course the Royal Family do never work without their TARTAN linings.
  2. Exactly (and at some point, if this thread lives on, I may repost the piece that I posted here and then withdrew, which was an expanded version of this theme.
  3. Of course wax cotton jackets could never work without their TARTAN linings.
  4. Cos you're a yak? So allowances should be made for when you are ruminating.
  5. Hmm. I've tried to cross-reference that Belstaff catalogue with a mineral database containing 4,442 individual mineral species descriptions. I can't come up with a match*, though despite the surfeit of oily pictures on that site (ugh!), there is no actual information that's of any use to either man or beast there. This enquiry might have to be escalated to Tech Topics. * However I do notice that the reference numbers are cod xxxxxx. This gives credence to those in The Fish Theory camp?
  6. To be honest, I've warmed to him, a little bit.
  7. Actually it seems that it's really the bank that is at fault and this shouldn't have been possible. In this example Clarkson should be right. Idiot bank – and that's worse!
  8. Would a wax cotton jacket be a vegetable? Or is it some form of animal, possibly deceased?
  9. Take your jacket off.
  10. Wow! 2008 is going to be a great year!
  11. Would a wasp's nest be a vegetable?
  12. –> PM me your measurements. Any colour preferences? Nogbad pretty well used up all my stock of pink and Jaap has a big order in for the black stuff, but apart from that.... most of the rainbow colours are available. Sardine fragrance is standard, but I can do tuna (for Forum members). Take two sets and I'll throw in a free blanket (Nog got the horse).
  13. All I could afford was a bit of blanket for dashing around in
  14. In '79, Nogbad was altogether quite dapper, BEFORE he donned the final layer of greased canvas
  15. Yes, but at least the smell of the waxed cotton helped to disguise it. Yours sniffily Belstaffguzzi
  16. It kinda starts as a cucumber cucumber, then turns to a coconut coconut when the revs pick up.
  17. potato potato Which vegetable best describes Guzzi's aural character?
  18. Talking about marrows, I'm starting a new vegetable thread in your honour. It's good to see that Jihem is getting his teeth into the subject matter too.
  19. oh, now Jaap is going to get all excited
  20. No, there are two more core subjects. Those are the threads about TIME and Moths. The moth threads are rather esoteric, but actually so important that they get their own forum. As for Time: what is it? Come to that, what are V11s?
  21. Try this link This guy makes evrything and he probably has some free time just around now.
  22. good old Santa
  23. I don't think there would be a locknut. Mine has the roll pin (top picture). There was an assumption before that the pin was later replaced with the adjustable post, but it seems from this thread that it was the other way round: earlier models had the adjustable eccentric? Do the later bikes, say circa 2004... still have the roll pin or was there a change again? ~ Not that it makes any difference ~ As regards its purpose, Baldini wrote a coupla yrs ago: "I think the pin is a stop for pawl arm. Guess that w/o it, even against spring pressure, the pawl arm may come away too far from shift wheel pins & allow uncontrolled movement of wheel." The position of the pin makes no difference to ease of parts assembly (Docc). I think it's clear from all the previous discussion and trials and errors and then fixes, that THE thing that causes the spring fatigue and break is the mismatch of spring coil and boss sizes, which causes obvious binding, stress and then *snap*!
  24. There have been a number of threads on this post / pin in the past – particularly because at least one person has found the pin in the bottom of their box after it had somehow come out. Bbennett: "You are exactly correct in your last post. I finally took the bike into Moto Int. in Seattle and they confirmed the roll pin had fallen out. They said I was lucky that it had not damaged anything upon exit. The bike is shifting perfectly again and my thanks to the Forum and to my dealer. If YOU are experiencing a large number (1 in 8 shifts) going both up and down, please consider the possiblity that this pin has fallen out (see above post)." http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=102785 also thmpr: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...ost&p=62930 roll pin stop: adjustable post stop: from gallo_se who is another person who posted on this The post is adjusted to the opposite side from Doc's, though I suppose that it's giving the same amount of adjustment.
