Guzzirider is 'on the ball' getting May 2008 sorted already. He also 'hit the nail on the head' with an excellent area, Galloway, to meet. There has been a surprising (to me anyway) amount of interest from people considering coming from across various bits of water. I wonder if folk would like to cross another bit of sea and come to Ulster? I would organize a meet here if we can get a suitable time. Chris has pointed out that the NW200 is in May and it would be great to attend that, but I feel that it would be better for a rally to be kept for riding time. Having said that, a time around the NW could still be an option, or some of the smaller road races, such as the Tandragee 100 or, later in the summer, the Ulster Grand Prix. I would propose 'St Patrick's Country', around Downpatrick, as the base. This is very scenic and gives good access to the Strangford Lough area and the coast down to the Mourne Mountains. The other direction to head from there would be north, for the Antrim Coast Road, regularly cited as one of the world's 'must drive/ride' roads. It leads to the Giant's Causeway area. The Sperrin Mountains and the Antrim Glens would be the third area. That's Joey Dunlop country. Jaap - have you, or has anyone else got dates in mind for meetings in 2008 or even 2009? May is a good time for me but with NW200 and then Scotland, it won't work for 2008. June is bad for me, though early in June might just be possible. July, August? Another thought is that the Bushmills Whisky Distillery will be celebrating its 400th anniversary in 2008. It's on the Coast Road. Any feedback about the idea is welcome. See Wikipedia for small mention of the A2 coast road. there are links to Mournes and Glens there too. More info can be found from tourist sites via Google Wiki - A2 road The Coast Road came 5th in world in a Jacobs Creek survey, see BBC item: BBC: world's most spectacular views See here for 'Coast' site on Antrim Coast and on the right there are links to Strangford Lough, Antrim Glens etc. This is worth a look I came across this bit of blurb on a Harley site about the Slaney Inn – the pub where the camping base could be: "In 1995 we went out for a run as a club to find another location for our rallies. We had gone out with six bars to try out. The first was The Slaney Inn in Raholp, Downpatrick. We sampled the beer, talked to the landlord and inspected the site. To this day we have yet to get to the second pub on our list. The Slaney Inn is the ideal venue for rallies, why look any further? So from then on, all of our rallies have been held here, and if ever you go to one, you will understand why. The site itself is set in the rolling hills of County Down, just below St.Patrick’s shrine. The Slaney Inn which has three bars, a restaurant and marquee as well as two secure car parks to keep them separate to bikes is an ideal rally site. The food from the restaurant is locally produced, as is the “pub grub”. The club also has B-B-Qs at the rally site. Huge breakfasts for unbelievable prices are also organised through the bar, no complaints yet. Camping is literally at the back door of the bar, so no lengthy walks from the pub to the tent. We have camping for 800 tents, but God help us if we ever had that many turn up. The bars sell the best Caffreys I have ever drunk, Guinness is great and there is a great selection of girl’s drinks…..The bar is run by Eamon Hayes, the best landlord ever, but why take my word for it, come to the next rally and see for yourself, you won’t be disappointed. ..... Club Rallies? In May of 1996, The Harley-Davidson Riders Club Northern Ireland staged the biggest Harley-Davidson event in Northern Ireland ever. Through contacts in the European Federation of Harley-Davidson Riders we had clubs from Scotland, England, Ireland, Holland, France and Denmark come to our site at Downpatrick. No one had a complaint, in fact everyone wanted to return to the next rally. We have since made good friends in the Harley Owners Club Ireland (Waterford), Caledonia Harley Club (Scotland), HDRC Wales, HDRCGB, and many other Harley and non-Harley clubs." So, it sounds ok?

RESISTENCIA CLASICAS CARTAGENA SPAIN

Yes, lovely pictures. And if they put this on the Griso, istead of the awkwardly futuristic retirement clock / flat screen tv, it would be so much more 'right': With the different manufacturer's name of course. -
does your Guzzi remind you of a plane?

I found the answer for the short leech problem: smother the Board in soap. That should keep the leeches away – whether they're short, long or medium sized. Here, it's no wonder the Tenni Forum doesn't suffer from leeches – pantyhose keeps them away! "The most common enquiry regarding leeches concerns repellents. It is unknown whether a specific preparation is commercially available but there is a plethora of tried and tested, but unproven leech-protection ideas. These include a lather of bath soap smeared on exposed parts and left to dry, applications of eucalyptus oil, tropical strength insect repellent, lemon juice and impenetrable barriers of socks and pantyhose." Should I have posted this in Tech Topics? -

That's ok. You have to start from where you are, but we can help you. Do you have a passport-sized photograph? -

and then there is the matter of an optional Tenni-green skin for the Board! Well really! What's wrong with MATT BLACK? and where do all the threads about German motorbikes go to? Someone must be deleting them, cos all I can find is Italian stuff. Why do I have to keep reading about Italian stuff? What about the Harley Topics? I mean, we're all Americans here, aren't we? Apart from a Swedish chap. And an odd Dane. **Edit Someone claims to be Dutch. Well, acknowledging your problem, is the first step in finding a solution. I think that we should support him. Let's have a Forum for people who want to be American but haven't quite made it yet. It could be called, 'Help! I'm Dutch.' -
Someone enlighten ME

I still can't believe that there's a Tenni 'sub-forum'. I mean, really! And one about moths! -
It's a deal! May 2009 NW200 and rides round the Antrim coast road, Glens of Antrim, Sperrin mountains, Strangford Lough... and by that time you might have the complete answer and the 8V will have some of its bugs sorted out and will probably have gone back to 2V per head and bikes will be running on fuel made from seaweed

I've put the figures into the thread where I've been collecting any bits of Ohlins data that I come across: Ohlins figures thread

if the Tenni were an aeroplane... if the Scura were an aeroplane though to be honest, mine's more often like this: or this: -

Good picture it just looks like what a 'plane should look like just as the V.11 is pretty much what a 'bike should look like -
I got the mag this morning and 8V does get a resoundingly positive report. "virtually all-new engine 80% of old Griso engine replaced truly aggressive stomp from 6000 crank 55% stiffer I was shaken by the way it took off like a rhino with a spear up it revamped front end... such a class act that it wouldn't be out of place on a World Superbike grid thunderously impressive... delectable... different... not only BMW who have to watch out – Ducati and Triumph too" and Honda's CB1100R retro racer air cooled four concept looks nice enough too Now, how does one go from £0,000.00 to £8,000.00? PM me with answers please.

Well as I've said before, you guys really should come here for a bit of a ride round. Or start here and finish in Scotland. The NW was the weekend before that, this year, wasn't it? Then we had the Highland Fling. The thing to do would be to go to NW, have the first half of the week here and the second half in Scotland – if only! so – go by your motorcycle instead

How does 16/17/18th May 2008 sound? at the moment, ok so go for it and at least it can be written in to calendar

Trouble at 110mph – and you add more throttle – You'll find consensus here that the balance of the bike is too far back and that it's also awkward to shift a lot of weight forward in normal riding. With the more recent bikes, Guzzi made a point of saying that they have moved the engine forward. Folk looking for improvement have indeed raised the forks and you'll find information in the Tech Topics Forum, probably mainly in the suspension set-up threads. Decent tyres are a big help too. Mostly my Scura tries go have its own wicked way by spraying oil from a whole variety of different places – no matter where it comes from, it always ends up on the back tyre and often the back brake too. Slither.

It would have been great to be there, but my bike has not been fit to go any distance and I don't have the time or space to be working on it. That weekend I was over in England: Bristol and London, plane and train. I'm glad I got to the Scotland meet at the beginning of the summer. Hopefully catch you guys in 2008.
