I got the mag this morning and 8V does get a resoundingly positive report. "virtually all-new engine 80% of old Griso engine replaced truly aggressive stomp from 6000 crank 55% stiffer I was shaken by the way it took off like a rhino with a spear up it revamped front end... such a class act that it wouldn't be out of place on a World Superbike grid thunderously impressive... delectable... different... not only BMW who have to watch out – Ducati and Triumph too" and Honda's CB1100R retro racer air cooled four concept looks nice enough too Now, how does one go from £0,000.00 to £8,000.00? PM me with answers please.

Well as I've said before, you guys really should come here for a bit of a ride round. Or start here and finish in Scotland. The NW was the weekend before that, this year, wasn't it? Then we had the Highland Fling. The thing to do would be to go to NW, have the first half of the week here and the second half in Scotland – if only! so – go by your motorcycle instead

How does 16/17/18th May 2008 sound? at the moment, ok so go for it and at least it can be written in to calendar
-
well of course

That wouldn't work for you then Mike

Trouble at 110mph – and you add more throttle – You'll find consensus here that the balance of the bike is too far back and that it's also awkward to shift a lot of weight forward in normal riding. With the more recent bikes, Guzzi made a point of saying that they have moved the engine forward. Folk looking for improvement have indeed raised the forks and you'll find information in the Tech Topics Forum, probably mainly in the suspension set-up threads. Decent tyres are a big help too. Mostly my Scura tries go have its own wicked way by spraying oil from a whole variety of different places – no matter where it comes from, it always ends up on the back tyre and often the back brake too. Slither.

The Slave panders to the great Beelzebub:

It would have been great to be there, but my bike has not been fit to go any distance and I don't have the time or space to be working on it. That weekend I was over in England: Bristol and London, plane and train. I'm glad I got to the Scotland meet at the beginning of the summer. Hopefully catch you guys in 2008.

It’s all done in my head with maths

Only 5L of glue? I've used more than that to hold my bike together! -
A bit fashionable, but could you fancy a Street Triple?
-
does your Guzzi remind you of a plane?
belfastguzzi replied to Van's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Not mine: it's been through Quat D surgery. Mind you, that does make it sound much more like an aeroplane, for sure. -
It was 40 years ago today

If the Scura was a statue, I'd say it would be this or perhaps this -
It's no good. The Scura would eat them before breakfast and make them leak their precious fluids. Save them for a nicely behaved Tenni.
-
Yes. and It's cursed.
-
My replacement 'improved' double-lip seals lasted only two and a half thousand miles before leaking. Both went at same time. They just don't last. Plus, The Curse Of The Scura probably doesn't help. Why would these parts be immune to it when all the rest of the bits that are part of, attached to or touch the beast, aren't?

I'm reassured by your reply that I posted in the correct place. Cushion making is not a subject of banter. BTW My clock is precisely set to local time, unless somehow some sort of internet trickery means that it displays differently in different locations. I hope that is not the case, otherwise the work of the great longitude engineers was for nothing. Regarding the Guzzi Wedge Conundrum: I have been investigating the acoustic properties of hole placement. No one has mentioned this business yet. Odd? Hole displacement following what is known as the Greg Field Pattern is unsettling for the more conservative – as we saw in certain reactionary posts. It has acoustic merit though, compared to the conventional, careful, centrehole drilling. Fine, but let's consider the more technologically sophisticated 'wave' cutout. Improved acoustics AND, I would think, NICE CUSH! Improved squish too. No one has mentioned this. Odd? Do you think that these holes could be modeled from urethane? How many would it take to fill the Albert Hall?

Now look here D.L. If I'd wanted an answer like that, I'd have posted in Tech Topics, or perhaps the Tenni Forum.
-
No, no. It's ok. It's a twin sister thing. Actually, I think she said triplets. There's one more out there somewhere.

I'd like to accent my bike's seating area through the use of artfully placed cushions. I don't want anything sloppy, so what's the best material combo for the job? Nice bit of chintz, maybe calico, stuffed with horsehair, feathers, or some grade of polyester, maybe even rubber? Any point in putting in holes, so the water drains through? The relevant chapter in Gosh!ology seems to refer to grease, but I find that misleading. I really can't see how that stuff could be useful. It's probably meant to be a reference to geese. PS when trolling through haberdashery, I found a friend who says she'll help me with the sewing: She looks quite dexterous.

Well, I don't know if this is a lame excuse or just excessive boasting. Either way, you need to give yourself a good talking to, pull your socks up and seriously consider how to re-align your priorities. Job or no job: these threads march relentlessly on. Can you afford to be left behind?

The G-ology reference was extensively discussed in (at least) one of the previous threads on this subject. I think there's mention of that somewhere in the first one or two pages in this thread here(?). Don't be having the idea that there are ONLY 16 pages on the Forum, debating this. No, no, fascinatingly no.

New Lady Friend and Her Griso

I was rolling around Cadwell and I came across this big girl's blouse. Unfortunately, I've nothing more to report. -
Hope you're watching, G.Rider. Turn it on if you're not. Injured Ryan Farquhar showing class in fierce riding on the ZX10R and ZX6R, winning against what looked like bigger Honda power. Great wee circuit. The Dunlops are tearing things up too. A win apiece for 3 of them. Ulster Grand Prix next. Big giant pic:
