I remember taking a mates 1700 Kawasaki cruiser for a spin a few years ago and being a bit intimidated at the size of the bloody thing at first. Then when I wobbled outa the driveway looking for the footpegs behind me...It must have been a sight. I did get the hang of it after a few minutes acclimatisation but they're definitely not my cup o Darjeeling! Another thing was how such a big motor could feel like a bloody 250.....Any trace of character completely removed! Cheers

Sorry fellas, but I'm with Phil on this..... It's either two wheels or the car with four! Cheers
-
He does doesn't he.... But how could you do that to a greenie...or a V11 for that matter?? Sidecar I mean!

Funny, I thought of Skyhooks Blue Jeans from Living in the seventies. Everybody's wearing blue jeans.... Cheers

Nice jeans....

Yeah, I get the impression they're deliberately making it harder to get into motorcycling..... Maybe this does weed out the non- committed but ultimately can't be good for the activity / sport in the long run! Cheers

I'll never forget the day I went to look at the Green one... As I've said before I actually called them ( the shop ) to enquire about it and remember asking about the colour.....It' not that lurid green one is it? My heart sank when they said yes as I really wanted a silver one! Anyway during the next week, the boys at work convinced me I could always paint it, and I should go and take a look at it...and so I did. You know even in a sea of exotica...MV Agusta's, Ducati's (modern and even a green frame replica! ) the odd Aprillia and the owners Vincent collection, you get the picture....The V11 STOOD OUT from the crowd! I was smitten completely the moment she fired up and bought her on the spot. The shop told me afterwards that the colour would grow on me and even though it was some time before I actually got my hands on her they were right and I can't imagine now how I didn't like the green at first! I love the bloody thing even more now! Cheers Ps I think the V11 LeMans looks much better in reality than some photos too. Pps Sorry but ole greenie is just a supermodel.....

A very relevant post. As of December, I've had to move my Dad into permanent care after a fall and broken hip meant he can no longer stay in his home despite the fact that my brother also lives in it too. He needs a level of care now (Alzheimer's as well) that we can no longer provide hence the placement. We're almost over the red tape and will shortly have to go through his belongings and do the same as some of you mention here. It does make you think about your own stuff...My wife is always giving me curry about my collection of bike magazines, books, cd's and last few years blurays! We also just did our wills to make matters easier on the kids when our time comes too and can just imagine them going through my stuff...I don't reckon much will survive but folk's ...Enjoy your stuff now while you can!! Cheers Ps 11 years ago we moved to our current home which is almost twice the size of our last...which means plenty of space for more STUFF!

Ha ha I remember the Volvo and old men in hats scenario from the 80's here in Melbourne well.... Bloody hell I wear a hat myself now....BUT not whilst driving I promise!!! And I've never even been in a Volvo, geez I feel a cold sweat coming on.....

Can't believe I missed the 1100 Sport.... Doh

Mate, mine had a few er niggles at first which took a while to sort and gave me the shits at times! This was the era of Power Commanders to try and sort fueling issues as the ECU couldn't be altered directly back then. There were a few others too. But once sorted.... And this forum has been a godsend in that, she's a bike the like of no other and irreplaceable! Actually, even then I still loved the bloody thing as could always see the potential! Cheers

Forgot to mention V11 Sport in Green ..of course! Now that I think of it there was a V11 LeMans in Coppa Italia colours which was the best LeMans I've seen! Anyhoo, the V11 Range are definitely at the top of the tree as far as I'm concerned! Cheers

Yeah, I feel the same with my V11 Sport mate. I've owned it for 15 years or so now and still look forward to every ride and can just sit and look at it at times..... My tops.... The V11 Sport / Mk 1 LeMans / Mk 3 LeMans / 1200 Sport / V7 Sport ( original ) and the Griso if allows a sixth! Cheers

Mate, lets just say I don't think much of their business ethics... Even less of their political motivations! Cheers -
Mate, the rain stopped but temp stayed round 15 ish.... Perfect for a ride! But I got conned into taking the minister to the bi-annual Poowong market today, so the bike remains in the carport with her blanket.... bugger! At least the Burek ( Fried Turkish bread with mince and onion filling ) was great and a local band kept us entertained so it wasn't all bad.... Cheers

G'day. I've never even heard of them and doubt they'd be sold here in Oz but with that range it would be ideal for Australia. However, due to it's new owners, they'd never see a cent of my money! Cheers -

I've often thought that if I were able to have a second bike it'd be a big ( ish ) single. A 500 Bullet but they discontinued them so maybe a Himalayan 450 or even the newer 650 twin in teal which bears a passing resemblance to a bullet. Or a Triumph 400 single or a Vitpilen 401 ...I kinda like these especially in white! Any of these would be great for a wee blat round the back-roads here which are remarkably like UK country lanes / roads. All conjecture I'm afraid as the minister wouldn't have a bar of it..... Cheers -
Bit like mine ... Sulking under cover in the carport! I wasn't gunna ride in 40 degree heat last week so she'll have to wait till next one for a gallop. And you wouldn't read about it, it's 13 and raining today! You can't say we lack variety in weather down here eh, so fingers crossed I get a ride in next week. Cheers Cheers

I really liked the look of the R9T Racer and sounds like yours is just so mate....Nice But yeah, no BMW has the soul / character of a Guzzi! Cheers
